You know how much we love #Halloween in our family, so come along with us for an eventful week! Shaun and I voted, as did Brooklyn & Bailey, Shaun helped Daxton and Paisley carve pumpkins, we all dressed up for Halloween, and the older kids had a Haunted Gingerbread House decorating contest! This is the first year that BrooklynAndBailey voted, Shaun and I decided to vote early. It's important to teach your kids how to exercise their right to vote. Poor Shaun, always gets stuck carving pumpkins with the kids! This year, he let them draw their own faces on them, and Shaun helped carve them. How did you think Daxton and Paisley did? Which one did you like the best?
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, not for the ghosts, demons, scary... but for the fun opportunity to dress up in fun themes and celebrate family time. This year, Shaun and I dressed as Woody and Jessie from the Toy Story movies. Daxton and Paisley dressed up as Peter Pan and Wendy. Rylan dressed up as a Barbie, and Brooklyn and Bailey and their college friends dressed up as Wizard of Oz characters.
After Shaun drove the littles around Trick-or-Treating to houses he knew would be safe and social distanced, the rest of the crew decided to decorate Haunted Gingerbread Houses! This was a SUPER FUN activity that everyone LOVED! Which gingerbread house did you like the most???

What are we doing right now, Carving pumpkins. We're gon na carve your pumpkin. She's, already drawn with a crayon. While I was out driving one on the golf carts. And she's already patterned it, can you see the face on there, [ Paisley ] This eyes and mouth., I'm not going to let her fully cut on her own, but we're going to see what it looks like When it's all cut out huh Yeah., All right just need to go like that.. This is what you want me to put right: [ Paisley, ], Uh yeah. I want that eye.. Then, how will my jack-o-lantern see The top dad's hand kinda out of the way.? I can't wait to put a light in it. Then it's gon na to show it's going to be so cool. [, Dad ], Don't break your eye. Out. Look! There'S one eyeball! Here'S one eyeball. (, both laugh ), [, Dad ], Okay, kids! I asked the kids to do their own self portraits., What ( Daxton laughs ), And this is what they came up with huh. You did not ask us to do self portraits.. It'S a self portrait. Look, there's Paisley. [, Daxton, ] Yep, that's definitely Paisley. [. Paisley ] No wait. This is dad with stitches in his face.. Oh I've got stitches on my face. That'S me: [ Daxton ], That's not Dad.. She made a portrait of me. Daxton, I'm not sure. What'S going on there, you look a little angry there. Buddy.! That'S not me [, Dad ], Who is it It's the headless horseman. [ Paisley ] He wanted to have like-. Is he screaming? He looks like he's screaming., It's the scream, it's the scream. Guys he wanted to put like- It's like for my restaurant.. He was scraping off some of this pumpkin to make it- I wanted to make it look like it was throwing up. Yeah. All right. Well we're going to put these on our porch for Halloween. Tomorrow, night. Wait Daddy! We should have put that off in my other ones. Yes, we have Christmas up in case. You noticed. Have yourself a Merry Christmas and scary pumpkin jack-o- lanterns. There, it is.. I think this one turned out really cute.. I literally cut it out exactly how she drew it., And here is Daxton's.. He'S, got a lot of scars and stitches and he's screaming.. It'S actually a lot like Daxton. (, Dad laughs ). This is cute.. He did it all by himself. I didn't help him at all on that. Came to Walmart today and look at what I found finally.. I have been looking for. One forever look the end cap.. I feel like Vanna White who's like gon na flip the letters ya, know. Yay my end cap.. It'S so good., Look at you and Cameron.. I love it., See the whole collection is over here in the aisle.. So yeah. You guys know where to look for Christmas time. Cause Christmas is coming up., So you can pop into Walmart Target Amazon or Sam's and pick them up.. What are you guys doing? We'Re crunching up Oreos-, I'm making dirt. Into edible dirt. [ Mom ], Edible dirt. She volunteers for anything that has to do with sweets. [ Mom ], Uh huh.. It sounds about right.. We have our toppings for the gingerbread houses over here. The haunted gingerbread houses. So we have skulls centipedes and poison apple, looking pretzels- [, Paisley ], Spiders., [, Mom, ] And anything like rocks. That'S green orange or yellow that looks Halloween-y.. The college kids have arrived., They are The Wizard of Oz. Complete with my Toto. Rylan is a Barbie., Hey, gala's Barbie's., And then we have Care Bears.. We have lots of costumes. Howdy partner. Yee-haw.. I got a snake in my boot.. I have a very thick red. Ponytail., Hey looks good, though. Did you braid that yourself, I did actually. You did. You had to thin in order to get the hat on, didn't you I did cause. It was so thick.. So the costume, this costume came with a hat, but it looked more like a scarecrow hat, so Mindy bought one from Disney. Looks pretty good. Don'T you think It looks a lot better.. It looks a lot better.. I got my sheriff star.. I'Ve got my cowhide, not really cowhide chaps. [, Dad ] Yeah and we've got spurs.. Can you see those spurs All right, we're going to take the kids to a couple of houses that are close by that? We know really really well. Gon na to wear masks and socially distance ourselves.. So now, with this mask on, I seriously feel like I look like an outlaw. Instead of a Toy Story, cowboy huh, This my friend. [ Dad ], That's your friend Tico How you doing Tico And who are you Tico, [, Tico ], The Fortnite fox [, Dad ], Your a what Sorry Fortnite what [ Tico ] Fox., Guys fun fact about Me and Tico: we were both born in Pennsylvania. Very nice, like the cobwebs. [, Dad ], All right. The game is afoot.. We have people decorating their haunted. Gingerbread houses. Brooklyn's decided to be a landscaper and put in a front lawn. Ooh. It'S snowy over here.. Yes, it is. [, Dad ] Nice we've got another landscaper here. Cool. Ooh they're painting. [ Girl, 1 ] Shh. [ Girl, 2 ] Shh. [, Dad ]. What do we have here? Lexy Your putting on-, [ Lexy ], A witch themed-, A witch themed house nice.? Oh, I know what that is. Tico's enjoying some water. Hi., Okay, so-, Just green and white [ Girl, 1 ] Yes.. Plants versus zombies. Maybe that's sunflower, plants., Pumpkin patch log cabin. Number. Six watch your step: it's got caution tape. And the up house complete with balloons. So which one do you think got first place comment down, below. And then you'll find out a minute. (, relaxing music, ), Okay. So in last place. [ Girl, 1 ]. Oh, you did all of them: [ Girl, 2, ], Third no. Third place or all of them. Last place. [ Girl, 2 ], Oh out of all of them, Yeah., Oh good god., And they get a chopped clam, can to share. ( dad laughs ). It was picked that the troll house. Darn. ( group, claps ) [ Girl, 2 ] A for effort.. We were not surprised. [, Dad ] Why's that Thank you thank you. [, Dad ]. I thought it was cute.. Thank you., [, Dad ], Very original., All right. Third place was the pumpkin patch. (. Everyone cheers ) Hannah I'll, give it to her. [ Girl, 2 ]. She left yeah. Okay.. In second place. We have drum roll please. ( hands, clapping ), You better pick. I grab ( indistinct ), This one. That one number- ( everyone cheers ) Rylan and Kayla. ( dog barks, ) (. Everyone cheers ) And in first place it was- The witch house. (. Everyone cheers: ) [, Dad ] Wow, guys way to go.. All right was that a fun activity That was super fun. [, Dad ] Yeah did you think that was fun, So fun. Yeah. It was fun cause I won. [ Dad ]. Of course you thought it was fun cause you won. Yeah. Did you like that? Did you guys have fun? Okay, here's the up house belonged to Brooklyn and Avery.. Look at that chimney. They created. The watch. Your step house belonged to Rylan and Kayla good job guys. [ Girl, 1 ]. It looks so good. Pumpkin patch belonged to Sidney and Hannah.. This was our what second placer [ Girl, 2 ] Third. [ Mom ] Third. Plants versus zombies was Garrett and Brooklyn.. It got no place, but it looks good. Spooky, troll, house-, [, Paisley, ], Spooky., [, Mom ] Belongs over here good job and the clams.. They won the clams. Witch house who did witch house. Oh yeah, you guys did Lexy and Matt. And queen of hearts with the severed head belonged to. We didn't know you guys had such a dark, side. Surprise., It's the queen of hearts. She beheads people, it's suppose to be scary for Halloween.
