Hello, everyone welcome back to my channel. This is actually my second tutorial today. The last tutorial i did was to show you how to make these little elements for your bows. They don't have to be christmas. You can make little birthday elements or just a picture of a unicorn or a mermaid. Whatever the theme of your bow, is i've done a tutorial just to show you how you can put together these little elements and print them out yourself now for this particular bow today, i'm going to show you how to make a countdown to christmas bow, and it Is going to be a bow that you can actually write on yourself with a dry wipe marker, so your child can write on the other side, so this loop will have to count down to christmas and the other loop will be able to be written on with A dry white marker, so your child can count down to christmas on a hair bow each day. I sat and thought of this. I had several different ideas. The first idea i thought of was to do a whole bow, so you've got the countdown to christmas on one loop and then the actual countdown already printed out on the other loop. But i thought that way: you'd need 25 bows and i don't know i just don't think that's quite efficient, so i try to think of a different way and then i thought about the velcro idea with like i did. The interchangeable hair bows. I thought about making the countdown to christmas design and then having the bottle cap image in the middle and then you'd change that every day with the countdown to christmas. But again you then need 25 bottle cap images, it's very time consuming. If someone, if you get like lots of orders for the particular bow, you then got to make lots of these print outs for the countdown the bottle caps to put the images in so i thought i need to think of something more efficient and then i thought About the bows that you can get where you can color them in yourself, so i thought about doing one like that, but i thought you need to be able to rub it out and do it again, and that is when the dry white markers came to me. So that is what i'm going to show you today. So i've got my countdown to christmas element which i printed out. I'Ve also got a red chunky, glitter and a green fine glitter that don't matter if they're, both fine glitters or both chunky or one of each. These are just what i had, so these are what i'm using one chunky and one fine. I'Ve also got some felt to back my canvas, because the canvas is that is thin. It'S a 340 gsm, but that doesn't hold a very good shape, but it does, but then that goes flat quick. So i do recommend backing your canvas. If you do choose to use this and this this is a white patent leatherette. As you can see, it's a bit creasy actually when it came in the post, but that'll be fine. So, as you can see it's a white painting, i ordered this and i've tested it and it all works brilliantly with the dry white markers. So this is what we're going to be using for our bow. The template i'm going to use today is my favorite. The beauty bow shape from glitter glitter on the wall. I'Ll tag this in the description under the video, so you can find the bow templates and also all the other elements that i've used today. I will tag everything in the description below the video, so i'm using the three and a half inch tails and the loops to go with that from the beauty bow set. And this part i made myself, i took the two and a half inch tails. I drew around the end extended the center to how i wanted it. So i could layer up my three and a half inch tails. So i've already drawn around my templates, my tails onto the green. This top layer is going to be the thin green fabric and the three and a half inch tails is on the red, chunky, glitter and now to draw around my countdown to christmas element, which i printed myself now you could use any christmassy fabric if you've got Another sort of christmas print that you want to use on the other loop, that's completely up to you, so this is going to be on the left side. That'S just how i prefer it. You could put it on the right and have the other loop on the left completely up to you, but i'm going to do mine on the left so with my left loop, i'm going to place over this image, so i can just see it peeking out this Right hand, side and then i'm just going to drag it over until i know that's right, just inside that edge so about there and then i'm going to draw around it. I'M just using a biro. You can use a disappear and ink pen, whichever you prefer, but i use a viral pen and then i just cut inside of the ink line and then taken your shiny paint and fabric. I'M going to draw my other loop on there. So again, just half the loop because we're going to put the two halves together, i'm drawing on the back side of this one i had to draw on the front side of this canvas, so i could see where to line my little image up, but this one Doesn'T have an image on so i can just draw onto the back to avoid any unnecessary pen lines and then to back it. I'M going to draw on my felt this is an ordinary craft felt 50p sheet, and then i bought the double-sided adhesive sheets and stuck that on the back of here and i'm going to draw on the back of this around the hole of the loop. And now i'm going to cut all of these pieces out now, just to show you what i mean by cutting inside the pen line, so i put my scissors just inside that pen line and follow it round that way. As you can see, there's no pen marks on the underside of the fabric that you're using because you've just cut that pen off. So that's so now we have all our little pieces cut out for the main body of the bow. So now we're ready to start assembling the main part of the bow, so we've got the patent fabric, the canvas we printed at the tails and then this felt to back up with now. Obviously, i've cut these in two halves because they're two separate pieces of fabric, this i cut as one whole and i'm going to line both as this paint and fabric, is quite thin as well as you can see that will kind of hold a nice loop, but That will probably go flat quite quickly, so any materials like this that are quite thin. I do like to back so first of all, i'm going to remove the top yellow film to reveal the sticky, the double-sided sticky adhesive. As you can see, that's now on the back of that felt i'm going to peel that off keeping the sticky side up. I'M then going to lay my halves onto this, so i'll start off with my canvas side, so i'm just lining that up checking both ends. Push that down and then taking my white paint and leatherette, stick that on the other side, and that just brings those two halves together and now that's got a really nice thickness. So when you form them loops, they will hold a really nice shape. Now, taking a lighter, i'm just going to go around this edge just to get rid of any fluffy bits of that felt. Try to use the blue part of the flame, the red part of the flame is the hottest and that will just avoid over burning the fabric and then taking the hot glue gun. I'M just going to wear that overlap slightly place a little bit of glue just to hold that down in place. I don't matter too much because when you wrap your scent around that will get held down anyway, just to hold it for now, while we're working on the bow, and now i'm going to bring those loops in to pop some glue on those ends, bringing those into The center, so there are your loops formed that lovely design on there and now we're ready to put our tails together. So i'm going to start by popping a bit of glue on my bigger tail in the middle and lining that up. I do like the double layered effect on the bow that just adds a little bit more interest to the bow and more color, and then i'm going to place some glue over that tail just to stick that down, so that don't move around. That also helps to make it thicker. So if you do use two thin glitters that just helps to thicken up a little bit having the two layers and then we can attach our bow onto the tails just going to pop some glue along that center part line. That up and next i want to add my clip - i'm using a 45 millimeter double prong clip, because these are what i prefer to use on my daughter's hair and i've got a piece of ribbon, which is one centimeter wide by 12 centimeters, and this is what You need to use to line your clip that is optional. You don't have to line your clip, so i'm just going to place some glue on there inside the pinch part and then i'm just going to stick it. I'M not going to glue this part here. I'M just going to glue this end part because when you fold that over because there's a gap in the middle that'll just stick them together, you don't need to glue both sides. So there's your lined clip and now we can place that underneath our bow flip that over and place on the underside removing any stringy bits of glue now to wrap around the center. I'M going to take a piece of red and green and i'm going to layer. It up a little bit. I'Ve got this little piece here already cut from when i done a piece a little while ago and to get that edge. I'Ve got these pinking shears, as they're called they've, got like this little zigzag edge and they're good for just giving a patterned edge on your fabric, so i'm going to cut a really thin piece out just under a centimeter wide. I'M just lining this triangle. Up with this side, i don't matter too much you don't have to you can do it like differently, if you want, but i'm just kind of lining mine up and then i'm going to cut a little strip out of that, that is around four and a half To five centimeters long and then i'm going to cut another piece out of my green roughly around the same length, but slightly wider, so slightly wider, just over a centimeter, i'm just doing this by r. You can measure if you want to be exact, but i'm just doing it by eye and then i'm going to glue this piece on top of here and as you can see, that just gives a nice little finish for your center. So i'm going to glue one half first and then the other half so i'll just place some glue on the top half line that up and then do the other half and then we're going to place this in the center of our bow. I'M just going to place a little bit of glue on there cover up that join and then wrap that around and then trim off any excess. Now i don't want it to overlap because it's already doubled up, it's quite thick to sit under the clip. So i'm going to take my scissors and i'm going to cut it fairly short so that it just goes under that clip and kind of meets in the middle rather than overlaps. Then you'll have like four layers: you'll only still have the two, so it's not too thick and turn it over to stick the other side. When you pinch your clip open, always just pinch the clip itself, all the tails in the clip don't pinch your loops, because you will flatten them once you've got a crease in here as hard to get that back out. So i always pinch under the loop to open my clip. That'S another good tip for you, so that is the bow finished. Now i'm going to show you the dry white markers and how they work on this side of the bow. So i bought a pack of these dry white markers from aliexpress. You can get these from shops as well fairly cheap. I think the works do a set for, like i think, a pound a packet, i'm not sure i'll, have to have a look, but i bought a few packets of these ones from aliexpress. So i can have some ready to sell with my bow: if you're selling them, you could offer a couple of pens with it or you could just offer one pen or you could sell the bow on its own and explain that they need to buy their own. It'S up to you, how you do it, but here's what i did earlier. I asked alexa how many sleeps until christmas - and she told me it was 52 sleeps, so here's one i designed earlier so i've put on their 52 sleeps and i drew a little christmas tree and i'll do the same on this one, this time i'll do it In red so 52 sleeps and then you can use the other pens and you can do some different designs on there. Maybe like a star some holly berries, so yeah your imagination can run wild and you can design your own little designs on the other loop. I think that's such a good idea to show you also how this wipes off and then to wipe it off i'll, show you this one. First, this one's been on there for quite a while and, as you can see, i did this a good 45 minutes ago, and that is wiping off there so easily it comes away nice and cleanly there. You go. That'S all ready to now redesign for the next day. I will link the video to this tutorial of how i've done this print out for this bow as well. All the products will be linked in the description below what i've used today and yeah. I hope you enjoyed this video if you've got any questions pop them into the comments. I'Ll do my best to get back to you. Thank you for watching everyone. Bye,
