Hey aphrodisiacs, it's me khadijah! So if you're new to my channel then please hit that subscribe. Button join the family and, if you're already subscribed, then welcome back okay guys. So today i am very very excited because this is going to be my last video of 2021 and that feels kind of crazy to say i feel, like this year, went by extremely quick, but today i am looking forward to this video because of course, we're going Into the new year 2022 and there's some things that i'm changing up in my routine, with how i'm caring for my natural hair. So i guess we could just jump right in first thing that i'm going to be doing in the new year is actually something not really brand new. It'S more so going to be something that i'm revisiting, because i used to do this a lot. So i'm going to be experimenting with adding oils to my deep conditioners. I believe i mentioned this in a video called things that i'm not doing to my hair anymore, and i said i wasn't going to be adding oils to my deep conditioners anymore, but i am going to reintroduce that into my routine, because i've noticed recently that my Hair does not have as much like sheen and shine as it used to i'll put some pictures, but my hair used to be like really really shiny. I don't know if it's because i use oils in my deep conditioners a lot or if it was because my hair was shorter, and so i guess, like the oils, just travel down the length of my hair better. I have no idea, but i think it is oils because just using coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil, it always helps to add giants in my hair. So i can only imagine adding oils to your deep conditioner. It helps to boost the shine. So i'm going to be revisiting that i wouldn't say that i'm going to add oils to all of my deep conditioners every deep conditioning session. But if you guys saw one of my recent videos, it was my black friday haul. I shared with you guys, a deep conditioner that i purchased and also an oil, and i told you guys that i like to use those two products together. I really like the results, so i'm definitely going to be trying out that combo, the deep conditioner and the oil to see what kind of results i get and using it long term. So the second thing that i'm going to be doing to my natural hair in 2022 is sticking with one protein treatment, which is the effigy two-step protein treatment. So, okay, you guys know that i don't have many protein treatments that i love to use on. My natural hair, one of my favorites, was the nothing but intense healing mask a lot of. You guys told me that i put you onto that product. It'S like a hidden gem or it was a hidden gem in my opinion, but i think it has been discontinued ever since covet. I have not been able to get my hands on it. It says like that is not available on amazon and things like that. So i'm pretty sure it has been discontinued at this point, which is so so sad. Let'S just have a moment of silence, because that protein treatment was amazing. Okay yeah, so you know i'm disappointed you guys, but at this point there's been products that i've loved that have been discontinued that have changed in formula and i've just had to keep it moving, find something else and continue my natural hair journey. So that's what i'm going to do and i decided on avigi two-step protein treatment, because apogee is known for their protein treatment. I think that's their most popular product and i've tried it in the past. When i had moisture overload, you guys know that phase in my journey it was horrible, but i did try the effigy treatment back. Then, however, it wasn't consistent, and so i don't really know how it works. On the hair long term. I kind of got curious and i said you know my hair is not heat damaged. I wouldn't really say my hair is damaged apart from it being high porosity, and so i have some porosity issues, but my hair does get really. Frizzy definition is really hard to maintain. I'M just curious like what the apogee is going to do for micro definition using over time. I already know it works really good with strand third new thing that i'm doing for my natural hair in the new year is blow drying it before i do my trims, so you guys know that i recently posted a video and before i actually got into the Demo portion of the video - i briefly informed you all that i had trimmed my hair and twist that's how i've been trimming my hair for years and it went fine, but i just wanted to see what my ends were looking like in their blown out state. So i feel like blow drying my hair before i trim. It really gives me the most accurate cut, because i'm able to see the full length of my hair stretched out. I can see the healthy portion of my hair and then the bottom portion is the part. You know that needs to be trimmed. That needs to go, and it's just very clear, very distinct, and i don't have to like guess what do i cut? What do i not cut, so i've really been enjoying it for that reason, and also just getting a chance to blow dry. My hair, you guys know that i do not use heat very often, because i have high porosity hair, but i feel like using heat once in a while, like every couple of months, it's fine and with me using my rev air, which is all the way over There so i'll put a picture, but if you guys have been keeping up with my videos, you have more than likely seen me use the reviewer in one of them and i love that device for blow drying. My hair, like i don't know if i could do the whole blow dryer using a brush. I try to limit my uses of tools, anyways so yeah. I don't know if i would really be willing to do all of that. The rev air makes it so easy. So simple to blow dry, i have really been enjoying it and i like that. I'M able to blow dry my hair and i can style my blow-dried hair and do different things. And that brings me on to the next new thing that i'm going to be doing to my natural hair in 2022 number four. I am going to be doing more hairstyles, specifically on blow-dried hair with me, having my hair blown out every three months, yeah. Three: six, nine so yeah. I plan to trim my hair four times a year, so that means yeah four okay. Yes, i plan to trim my hair four times a year, so that means for four different times. I'M gon na have blow-dried hair and so i'll have an opportunity to style it different ways, and i'm so excited for that. I plan on doing more flexi rod sets perm rod, sets plan on trying, pin curls. I want to try bantu knots, which i don't really know if bantu knots is for me, i'm just excited to experiment and do new things all right and i believe we're on number five. The fifth new thing that i'm going to be doing to my natural hair. In 2022 is treating my edges in my nape separately, making them their own sections caring for them the same way. I guess that i would the rest of my hair, but just making them their own individual sections. I believe i've been on this journey caring for my edges and my nape for about two years. Has it been two years i think in 2019 i revealed my damaged areas to you guys, and i was really unhappy with how they were looking. I felt kind of embarrassed. You know, because i think i do a great job taking care of my hair, but some areas of our hair just need extra tlc period. That'S just what it is. I know some of us struggle without edges, some of us. It'S our nate others. It'S both some people, it's their crown. You know there's going to be breakage in one area or more, and that doesn't mean that you are doing a bad job. Caring for your hair, maybe you're just not giving the extra toc to those areas that may need it. So that's what i realized and i wanted to do things differently. I said hey, i don't want for my nape to continue breaking. I don't want for my edges to continue breaking so i need to change some things around and take control of the situation, which is what i did and it has definitely been a learning experience. I'M learning as i go and i'm just trying to like do what i think is going to work. My edges are growing they're, getting pretty long like they're catching up with the length of my hair i flat twist them now. So when i'm keep conditioning, i do that styling. I will do that now doing my twist outs i'll twist them separately, if i'm doing a wash and go i'll moisturize and define the area separately and then also when i'm re-moisturizing so the rest of my hair. Like majority of my hair, i re-moisturize like every three days because it retains moisture for quite a while, but my edges in my nape get really dry and i want to keep them protected as much as possible. So i tend to re-moisturize those areas. Every single night, and so regardless of what hairstyle i have, i will flat twist the areas, moisturize them and then flat twist them. So i'll have updated videos on all of this. So that is it for this video you guys, i hope they all enjoyed. It has been so much fun another year of uploads. I am just really excited for the new year. I have a lot of things planned, so i'm just hoping that it goes as planned, but let me know in the comments what your favorite video was for me. This year, what you want to see next year that is so important, i'm also going to be dropping a poll or some type of questionnaire that you guys can fill out, because your feedback is so so important to me. If you enjoyed this video, please give it a big thumbs up, comment down below, feel free to share this video and, of course, subscribe. Bye guys you
