What Not To Wear In 2022 | Fashion Trends To Avoid

I always feel like I'm going out on a limb when I create these "what NOT to wear" videos but there are some fashion trends heading our way in 2022 that I just don't think are worth the hype. Obviously if you LOVE any of these trends then by all means go for it. But in my humble opinion I've chosen these trends to avoid because I really don't think you'll get a great return on your investment. I'm all about getting a great return on my fashion investments and I find if I don't get a great cost per wear they're a no go for me. But please let me know if you plan on wearing any of these trends and if there are some you won't be missing out on. I'm picking there will be a few of these trends that will definitely divide us and if that's the case I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

As always thanks SO much for watching and all the very best for a fab holiday season. See you soon.

There are some really fab fashion trends heading our way next year, and there are others that i just don't think are worth the hype and in today's video i'm going to share with you the fashion trends. I think you should avoid and why hi i'm leonie and welcome back to my channel and if you're new here hello, i'm really pleased that you found me. I post new fashion videos here every single week and if you enjoy this one maybe consider subscribing. But today i'm talking about fashion trends in 2022 that i think we need to avoid they're trends that are not practical are going to be one season wonders and, quite frankly, it's just not worth the hype. So if you would like to see the trends that i think are a no-go, then just keep watching and at this point i'd just like to say a very big thank you to the team at switchcraft for sponsoring this portion of today's episode. Now switchcraft is a game that i've been playing on my phone and it's one of those fun little games. That gives me the opportunity to zone out and not stress about things that usually kind of get to me. During the day, i tend to lie in bed on my phone at night and play a couple of games, and it's just the easiest way for me to just relax and switch off. It all starts with the disappearance of your best friend, and then you basically work. Your way, through the game, to unravel the mystery of how she disappeared along the way you meet interesting characters and it's a story that kind of keeps you gripped the whole way, there's even little elements of romance in there, which is kind of fun too. So, if you're looking for a way to just escape the day-to-day and add a little bit of magic into your life, then definitely check out switchcraft i'll leave a link in the description box below. So you can download switchcraft for free and unlock the magical mystery. Now. The first trend that i think we should avoid - and this i know is going to be really contentious because i know when i've talked about this particular trend in the past, you kind of either love it or you hate it. So please, let me know which side of the fence you're on with this one. But one of the biggest trends for next year is the return of sequins. It seems to be a very shiny sparkly year and while i'm a bit of a fan of anything that sparkles, i do tend to think. If you're looking for investment pieces and pieces that you can wear regularly sequin pieces are not it. In my experience, you just don't get the cost per wear on these pieces and unfortunately they are so dazzling and tempting when you see them in store, they're just pieces that are actually fun to buy. But they are the sort of pieces that are tricky to work into everyday outfits. Now don't get me wrong, they look great and i don't think that you should keep sequins and sparkles for going out and for best they look great every day, but i tend to think that they they date really quickly. They'Re such statement pieces that they're really noticing noticeable every time you wear them, and for that reason you don't tend to reach for them as often so. That'S why i've put sequins on the top of my what not to wear list now. The only disclaimer to this is, if you find a piece and it's a sequined, cami or dress that you are quite happy to wear once in a while for special occasions, then go for it. But if you're looking to update your wardrobe with new season pieces that you can get lots of wear out of, i would avoid sequins now the next trend that is going to be bigger than ben hur next year is cut outs. Now i've talked about cutouts. Quite a bit on my channel and in fact i actually personally like them, i think a small cut out here and there can just give some relief to a garment and just add a little bit of interest. But what i am seeing is cutouts on steroids. They seem to be bigger and bolder cut-outs than ever before, and i just think that they've kind of missed the mark they've taken something that's quirky and fun and interesting and just pushed it too far. So it turns out that not all cutouts are created equal. So the garments and the pieces that we've been wearing over spring summer and winter this year tend to be more on the conservative side and what we will be seeing next year is big, open cutouts, and for that reason i just think they've they've gone too far. It'S too much and these pieces become very tricky to wear now. This next trend is definitely going to divide you, and i know that for sure, because rise jeans are coming back now. I know a lot of you have shared with me in the comments of previous videos that you're not a fan of low-rise and when the sort of high-rise mum-style jeans came back, you were breathing a sigh of relief, but low-rise jeans are definitely back and i'm personally Not going to wear them, i don't think they tend to be overly flattering. If you are short in the body, this lower rise can be easier for you to to wear and incorporate into your looks, but low low rise is, in my opinion, just not a good look. So let me know in the comments below what you think of low-rise jeans coming back. I am certainly not a fan, but i'd love to know what you think. Now, over the past few seasons, we've seen bra, tops and bralettes worn under blazers and jackets or just styled on their own next year. Those bra tops seem to be shrinking in size and they are going to be tinier than ever before. Now i personally had to warm up to the idea of bra tops they're, not something that i would wear. I do like the look of them when i'm when i see them on the runway, and sometimes when they're styled to perfection. I love the look. So don't get me wrong, i'm not against this look, but i think these tiny, tiny bra tops it's kind of moved out of the realm of fashion, it's more theater and fun and in my opinion it's just not a good look unless it is styled to perfection And often that is not the case, so bra tops are shrinking and i am not a fan. If you do like this look, and you want to dip your toe into this trend, what i suggest is opting for a bralette, because bralettes tend to be a little longer in the body and just give you a little more coverage and, in my opinion, look a Little bit more sophisticated and pulled together, so i would give a tiny itty bitty bra top a wide berth and instead opt for a bralette. Now, i'm kind of surprised that fringing is back, but it is back in 2022 and back in a really big way. What i am seeing and what i did see with designers on the runway, was the addition of long fringes on the bottom of skirts and dresses. And, while i do tend to like this look, i like the fact that it gives you a little bit of coverage. But you can still see what's going on underneath, but the practicality of wearing fringing is just tricky if you've ever worn fringing in real life, you will understand where i'm coming from they. The fringing tends to get caught on chairs and doorways and absolutely everywhere, and for that reason it is just the most frustrating trend to wear in real life. I do admit that it looks fantastic when it's shown on the runway or styled in a fashion magazine or a cool street style shot, but it's just it doesn't work in real life. If you like, the idea of fringing maybe opt for some fringing detail that doesn't cause so many mishaps on the daily. So things like small fringing detail on a faux leather jacket or a little bit of fringing detail on a on a purse or a handbag. That kind of fringing will mean that you can dip your toe into the trend and feel modern and current without the hassle of trying to deal with fringing getting caught everywhere. I'M probably sounding old, but it is the most impractical trend and for that reason it's on this list now this next trend has kind of taken a turn too far. In my opinion - and that is super duper - puffy voluminous sleeves now - i'm all for a bit of puff and fun and volume, but it seems to have gone a little crazy and that volume on especially sleeve detailing is super sized. Now. I think this is a really tricky trend to to wear that amount of volume is always going to make anyone look bigger, so i have seen it working if you wear sort of a crop top with voluminous puffy, puffy sleeves and then maybe a little short pair Of shorts or a little mini skirt, because you really need to work out the juxtaposition of those proportions and if you don't get those proportions right, it just doesn't work so super sized puffy sleeves are a no-go because i think they've just gone too far. The way we were wearing them in 2021, i think, worked really well. It was feminine floaty and a bit of fun, but these super sized versions are just a step too far. In my opinion - and it does seem like some of the fashion trends next year - are going a little too far and minis are doing exactly the same thing, but instead of pumping up the volume they are becoming micro, minis and some of them look almost like a Slightly oversized belt, if you ask me - and i do know that - i'm starting to sound like my mother, but i do think these micro minis are great on the runway, but they don't translate to every day life and for that reason they're on this list, they really Do seem to suit one body type and and that's it so i don't have a lot to say about micro minis, if you like, wearing a shorter mini style, skirt, go for a traditional mini and give the micro minis a miss. Now, on the theme of drama for next year, one of the most dramatic trends that i've seen is the return of tales. So it's almost like a a train on a wedding, dress, skirts and dresses and almost sort of duster coats with long tails. Slash trains are trending and while we did see them in a very big way on the runway, those looks will translate to the high street, so they will be on offer for us. They may be paired back a little bit, but they will still be very much a feature of 2022 fashion trends. So i'll flick up some images here, so you can kind of get the idea of what i mean, but i tend to think that anything that trails on the ground is a no-go for obvious reasons. That is just impractical. What i suspect that will happen on high street is that we'll see more of a dipped hemline as opposed to a train that actually trails behind dresses and skirts, but i do think this is just a look when it's exaggerated, like this. That is just it's not going to work it's over the top, it's impractical and it may work for your wedding day. In fact, i think it does work beautifully for your wedding day but fashion. No not so much and there's a new sexy, that's being introduced into fashion in 2022 and it's again gone a step too far. I think unleashing bare nipples to the world is not really fashion. In my humble opinion, let me know what you think, but i think, wearing extremely sheer slips and mini slips that pretty much you see, everything underneath is is not really fashion and there's probably, in my opinion, one place for that and that is in the bedroom. Not on the sidewalk, so let me know what you think if you agree, but these super sheer pieces are a no-go anyway. That'S it from me today. I hope you enjoyed this one. If you did i'd love you to give it a big thumbs up, don't forget to subscribe to my channel for more and i'll see you real soon bye. For now you

Bel Bush: I think wearing whatever jeans that fit your figure perfectly is way better than chasing a new trend year after year wearing ill fitting jeans. And it really goes for everything‍♀️

K MV: Again, the word sexy has been confused with sleazy. 2022 is shaping up to be pretty ugly fashionwise... I'll stick with basics. Great vlog, as usual! <3

Kimberly Perrotis: As a Health and Safety professional, I have to mention how dangerous it is to wear long fringe on garments. Don’t scoff, women have been unknowingly caught by fringe in departing trains, elevators and cars and dragged along until they’re dead. Keep it to a clutch handbag or something that can be easily parted from the body if it gets caught in something, not a cross-body for example. Plus, long fringe gets dirty and usually can’t be laundered, a lot can’t even be dry-cleaned, or only at great expense. I’m just not a fan of anything as impractical or trendy as fringe, anyway.

Megan Ruch Watercolors: Leoni, I do agree with your list! I am a Seinfeld fan and there is an episode where Jerry and Kramer get in an accident because they see a woman walking down the street in just a bra and a blazer. So funny that was in the 90's go figure it became a fashion trend. I think it is tacky!

Lola Kathol: I agree with you 100% on these fashion trends! I cannot see myself wearing any of these. I am sticking with my classic wardrobe that will never go out of style. I will however add a few trends to my wardrobe, but none of these!! I think the fashion industry has gone way too far with some of these trends. Always enjoy your channel!

Mary Klatka: As a woman over 60 who prefers classic clothing, these trends are all easy NO's.

MakeItVanilla: I actually enjoy seeing the concepts designers come up with, even if I don't personally want to wear it. You have to admit, that many of these models look amazing, and it inspires me to be more creative with my styling and trying new things. It's interesting that many of the trends can be wearable if you layer, or if you incorporate them with more basic pieces. I don't buy into fashion rules or that certain fashion trends are limited to age groups. However, I do think some outfits can reveal too much, to the point they look vulgar and unsexy. However, if everyone dressed the same, this planet would be a very boring place.

Oh! Thank G-d for the bourgeoisie!: For the dramatic fabric/materials or colors, like metallics, sequins or brights, I often opt for a scarf. It is easier to incorporate and is not as expensive. A dramatic scarf can be worn longer than the trend phase.

LLKool Bean: I love sequins but I'll often grab vintage pieces as they're better quality. Definitely not a trend to spend too much money on.

Laurel McBrine: I’m actually kind of a fan of wearing sequins on a daily basis, I would love seeing a lot of that around. I do agree with you about their versatility though and the fact that they are very memorable. I have a number of pieces that I usually wear for winter special occasions but don’t plan to buy more.

Cavelle Ardiel: I bought all of my sequinned pieces at the thrift store for under $6.00 each. This way when they start to fall a part I don't worry about the cost. I love fringe and yes, it needs to be practical.

Julia M: Agree with everything . Of course, the runway is one place where designers can go to extremes. Most of those looks get diluted to more wearable clothes. Lots of these trends seem to be made for pop stars on the red carpet for MTV music awards.

cate: Totally agree with you! Some of these trends seem to be created for very young people and only for certain occasions, like a night in a disco. It's hard to think to these kind of styles in our daily life. Low rise jeans? No more in my life. ☺️

Annie Yahu: I personally see these 2022 fashion trends as negative towards a woman's image. We just went through a very rough time in our society and I find these trends are screaming for attention. They present women as being so desperate for attention or affection that she has to "reveal herself" with skimping tops, crazy cut outs....so many impractical clothing ideas. Gonna pass on these.

Kerryn Hampton: Whilst not a fan of super low rise jeans, I have struggled greatly over the last few years with the high rise trend. At a ‘petite’ 162cm and short in the torso, many of the pants/jeans were giving me the appearance of having no torso at all. The wide leg trend also complicates matters for us shorties trying to stay At least a little on trend. I’m looking forward to some new trends for the southern winter ahead.

Janice Carlin: Well, that was a list of horrors! And I must say, women will never get the power we want and need if designers continue to sexualize us in every blatant way they can. Why don't men wear sheer fashion??? You know what I mean.

Kat Marano: Totally agree with everything. Don’t know what is happening with fashion lately but I will say it’s very disappointing. Happy Holidays and thank you for sharing

Karlene Matthews: I am definitely not loving the extremely sheer pieces without something underneath covering certain parts. The look doesn’t provide mystery if everything is exposed. Thanks for sharing

Khadeejah Raja: Bra tops are shrinking, cut outs are growing larger, Jean waists are dropping. Couldn’t agree with you more. Great list!

Andrea Arias: Enjoy your videos so much! Appreciate your style sense! Your advice is so helpful! Thank you for sharing your take on these trends!

Peg Irby Connell: Uninspiring 2022 “can’t think of anything new fashion” : 1. bra tops: leave them on vacation at the beach 2. extreme cutouts: look a bit desperate for attention 3. sequins:not even for New Years Eve 4. fringe is painful and messy 5. extreme puff look like balloons full of helium 6. micro mini: fortunately I don’t see that too often on the street 7. Chest revealing : cover up! It won’t get positive attention, just dogged

Jacqueline De Pace: Totally agree with you. It seems fashion can't decide what decade it wants to embrace. The 1890's with the trains and puff, or the 1960's with mice minis and fringe . It's all terrible!!

Margaretcs0103: Unfortunately, all the people who shouldn’t be wearing these trends WILL be wearing these trends…..great for people watching though….

Trish Hobbs Phillips: Your skin and hair look terrific today, Leonie! Your skin is literally glowing!

Canz Tee: Yeah I tend to agree with most of them particularly if your style is more classic, practical & mininal, however there are ways of incorporating some of the pieces to accentuate your personal style ie: wearing bra tops with a mens oversized button down is such a cool look for summer

SweeetClarissa: I agree with all your list. Great video Miss L!! ❤️

Gay Timpany: Another fabulous video. Absolutely agree with you, these are definitely no go trends. Keep up the great work. Wishing you and your family a Happy Christmas and a fashionable New Year. Hope you get the chance to escape Auckland for a change of scenery. Happy summer

Linda Adams: You're right about every style. However, I'm not feeling cut outs either and fringe should stay on a jacket or a handbag in a modest way.

KarmaGirlDreams: Totally agree that the see-through trend is not fashion Thanks for the list Leoni.

Kino Styles: Great video. I think I'll be giving everything you mentioned a miss. Hope there's something left for me to wear . I love minis but micros, not so much; I like to be able to pick up whatever I've dropped and not just leave it there because my skirt's too short!

Kimberly Perrotis: I try to separate trends from fads, if I can. Longer, looser trousers are a trend, but teddy bags are a fad. I do think non-leather material, especially fabric, bags are a trend, though, because women are buying more handbags and leather and skilled labor, especially, are becoming more and more expensive. The demand for labor for skilled crafts had been going up every decade for two hundred years, and the pandemic will make it worse. When I was young, most women had just one or two leather everyday handbags, plus an evening bag. Now we want multiple styles and colors, mea culpa. I won’t pay designer prices for a lower-quality bag just to get the logo or other branding, but many women will. That’s why designers love them, they’re super-cheap to make, but prices aren’t commensurate with the inferior quality, so they make incredible profits.

Darlene Alvarez Fasolo: Agree on all of your recommendations and would add ripped denin on the list.

Tired Mommy: What a great and classy vlog xx! I'm just loving the host but not so much this coming years fashion for 2022. YIKES Honestly, wear what makes you happy and comfy is what I say. People always look better with a smile on their face xx.

mikel.photoz: I agree with you on everything except the jeans. I'll wear any style as long as they're cut right, except for the ones with the huge holes and tears in them. Great video. Thanks!

Rikki Spanish: I LOVE your blouse! It's fabulous and looks fabulous on you. I'm a sucker for gingham, I've loved it since I was a toddler and my babydoll had a pink gingham dress lol. I agree with all of the points you made about these upcoming trends. Just like with makeup, I feel like fashion is hurting itself by trying to push editorial-type looks on us for everyday. It's not going to be well-received, the consumers will pretty much reject it, and sales are going to suffer. Most of these trends are extremely impractical, some are extremely inappropriate, and the ultra-sheer trend is just plain illegal in many communities. Heck, even the bra top trend would get me kicked out of most public places where I live. It feels like Gen Z's nostalgia for the 2000s is causing fashion to bring back the slut-chic styles from that era, and I think it's not going to go well in terms of sales. Most of us who were around back then greatly regret wearing those trends and are not the least bit excited to wear them again.

Annie L: Sequinned skirts and dresses to me are in fashion almost every year during the holidays at least I still have my sequinned skirts I got years ago and still wear them Recently got a sequinned dress which I am planning to wear a lot in years to come... Oh dear low rise...I’m in my 40s and already got so comfortable with high waist so think I will stick to it though I have some jeans in my storage that are low waist if I get into that fashion can just wear them....maybe... Fringes, Oh my I had fringe skirts and bags back in the 2000s Yeah think I might pass unless it is a little sophisticated fringe on a bag or something. Definitely no for huge sleeves, I am 5’11 with broad shoulders so dont want to end up scarying people.. for most of us it is just not a good fit in my opinion especially if you dont accessorise them the right way. I.e. a huge sleeve dress with a lose fit and no belt or nothing that would make the portions more balanced... No micro minis, it would end up being a belt on me And sheer slips do not look elegant at all. No go for me also. Great vid, definitely on same page with these!:) Happy holidays!

GMA DIANA: I agree with your”Don’t s”, exceptions: love micro minis with tights and adored the red dress with cutouts for formal

Esmerelda Hakk: Wow, fashion is just all over the place recently! It can't decide what decade it wants to settle on. Yes to sequins. Yes to modified tails & trains. Yes to fringe. Yes to normal minis. I like to have fun and change it up quite a bit, though, and even though I'm a bigger woman I can find ways to style these things. Although I can't quite pull off the really low rise, I do NOT like high rise/mom jeans. I'm tired of companies pushing them - they don't work for many women. In fact, I don't know any women that would choose them over a nice pair of mid-rise. I've asked. Definitely agree that some of these are taking it a step too far, and the looks need to stay on the runway.

Shell Bell: Wow 2022 seems to be set on making woman look trashy. Extreme cut outs, micro-mini's. see through tops, bra tops and at the same time you will get run over when crossing the street due to not seeing past your puffy sleeves or getting trapped by your own fringe. I think I'll just do me.

Delinda Henderson: I feel like for me the overall fashion took a strong nosedive in 2020. Most of these trends to me are just anti-fashionable and impractical. I like more structure and fit and good quality fabrics. But I also will only buy things that are functional to my life. To me nothing is very interesting right now creatively but ridiculous looking and on repeat mode with those huge sleeves and cut outs. I love the glamorous styles from the 1930’s and 1940’s. I feel like women were glorified into goddesses rather than so many cheap looks we see today. Just my opinion. Even the 80’s were far more ingenious than what we have now. I think it is the format we’re in that is harming the art.

Ragana Regnbue: I love the tails and trains trend. It's the perfect lounge wear. Everytime you get up from the couch and walk a few steps you clean your floors. What's impractical about that?

Louise Dolloff: Wow, it's like 2022 is bringing back some of the fashions from the 1960's and 70's and making them even worse than they were back then I'm with you, No to everything on your list. A sequin detail on a blouse or dress is ok, a short fringe on a leather jacket or handbag, yes, a slit sleeve on a top in summer, or a keyhole neckline, ok, but nothing over the top or it just looks trashy and cheap

Ann Latham: I just sold my sequined blazer and I must admit it was hard ! I never got to wear it so at least someone else will get to enjoy it. Trends go by so fast these days I just buy pieces that I’ll get a lot of wear out of

Owani Iroso: Sequin is my thing currently, got a sequin blazer, a metallic micro tote, and shimmer pants and top , I'm wearing them dressed down, with denim and joggers, or white shirt after I watched Trinny london TV and felt inspired. But I thrifted them but I probably should calm down. Everything else mentioned I totally agree. No puffy stuff, cut outs super size, micro minis and fringe is dreadful to me. But Sequin brings me joy

cruisin down the street in my 64: low rise is great for youth culture! on my body I think it's really flattering, though I understand why it's controversial.

Nichola YY Tsang: Hi Leonie, agree with majority of your list except sequins. I love sequins and velvet not necessarily together though. I'm looking forward to wearing some during the day.

Holly Elisabeth: Good thing I just held onto a few sequined pieces from years ago. The most random is a pair of Rachel Roy purple sequined flats. Such good quality! Low rise jeans are a no. I lived for years having my bum pop out of my jeans, and having to pull them up constantly.

Lakersha Olivarez: I do Agree with you on the mention items. Nice video! Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Pam Ford: I’m a very petite person who hates the high rise trend which hits just under my bra so the low rise is a welcome trend for me!!

Majbritt Kjaer: Thank you for always providing practical advice. It’s true that most of this is seen on Insta or YouTube, not really in real life. No one in my circles are wearing (real) Kelly bags, micro minis or Hermes belts… maybe different for others, but that is my reality. Love it on the runway and in Insta, but a pass for most for me

Marty Pruitt: Although not all of these styles are for me, I wouldn't judge a woman wearing them so harshly as many of the comments on here have. Honestly when I was in better shape and wore lots of these styles I felt powerful with confidence. I wasn't wearing them for men I was wearing it for me. Not judging a woman because of how she's dressed is my idea of feminism.

Viktoria Gruver: I still have a difficult time to find high rise jeans that fits me nicely, after supposedly low rise is going out of fashion, thought that my nightmare is over, and..... not again !!!!! Agree on pretty much everything, but if used in moderation - just a bit puffy sleeves, or something underneath the sheer, or trails are shorter would definitely work in the real life

Valorie Griego: I totally agree with you Leonie! Goodness, they call anything fashion these days! Merry Christmas to you and yours! You are looking good...lovely face.

cartoonygothica: I can't say I'm a fan of these trends, either. I never cared much for fashion trends; I just wear whatever I want. I definitely agree that some of these trends reveal too much skin or are just impractical for daily life. I'm barely 28 now, yet I prefer to dress modestly, even in the summer.

Mela P: 100%!! These trends only look good and work well in editorials or fashion shows. Completely useless for daily life‍♀️ Now, a cool 70’s vintage fringe velour jacket that could totally work

Shawn Kent Hayashi: I am very short waisted so I will be thrilled to have options in low rise pants come back! Very grateful to have options that work for every body.

Deadesign Anna: I like outfits with a touch of light sexuality more than vulgar outfits. although this is how I think now, when I was 16 I wore miniskirts :)

Cameron Hart: I will stay with classics and a trend or two. I agree with you. Thank you for sharing.

Sophie Dawson: Puff sleeves can flatten in humid weather. To keep them puffed there needs to be some sort of support.

Elizabeth Przybylski: Favorite jean stlye are low cut because I am so short in the torso. I am looking forward to being able to replace a few of my worn out pieces, but I am not a fan of the extremely low cut jeans.

Carole Geddes: Thank you. Some women really need someone to tell them this stuff is not very flattering

GroovySecondHalf: I really wouldn’t be tempted by any of those trends anyway. Maybe a sequin cami like you said and fringe on a boho bag. Great videos!

sfmarybeth: Someone has probably already commented that the mini photo that you labeled as Carolina Herrera is actually Miu Miu Sprint 2022. Great video, thank you!

Celia Thirlwall: Totally agree with you Leoni!! Wow, none of those looks are for me!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

Cheree Wright: The low-rise and cut out trend can go! Next please

L Leo: Ha ha, I have a top with long fringe and washing it is a nightmare! Even washed in a lingerie bag the strands get all tangled and it’s like untangling Christmas lights everytime I take it out of the bag. Like the top, hate the hassle....

Elizabeth Felts Olmsted: I like the low-rise denim because it is comfortable and shows off my small waist!

Lynn Black: From ages 20-29. We wore baggy jeans as low as we could. Looked perfect. AND we wore scarves as tops. Who knew - we were 50 years ahead of 2022.

Julie Barnard: Agree with your list and thoughts 100%!! This stuff is ridiculous

Kimberly Perrotis: I like metallic fabrics more than sequins, they’re more versatile, casual, comfortable and practical. I do love my metallic-fabric gold and silver skirts, I treat them as warm and cool neutrals, respectively, but these fabrics are always synthetic, so they don’t work for me as tops or dresses. A few women make sequins their thing, like Trinny London, but it’s not for me. Some women want to make a big statement with their style, and have the personality for it, that’s great, but I don’t. I stand out enough already just by being a skirt or dress wearer (for comfort reasons; but where I live even the most casual ones are considered dressy). I like quiet, classic, but not boring, items for my wardrobe. I don’t have any occasions where I can’t just wear one of my classic silk dresses, black or navy. I’m still looking for one in a print or lighter color to round out my collection, but they’re much harder to find.

Mary Starr: I agree with your list. Thank you

Tracy Boyall: I agree with everything you've said about these trends. Definite no no's for me.

Connie Hunter: If everyone looked like a size 2 model and always wear impractical clothing in real life...the styles would be okay. But I agree these items you mentioned are just not what you would wear to the grocery store!

Jamie DiRaimo: Yes for a good sequence top, Never low rise, no cut outs, no bra tops unless on beach

Kelly C: Sounds like we are getting naked in 2022? . Trends are great, but most of these sounds like a hard pass for me.

B MacLearn: 12:41 I'd wear this sheer dress, would look nice with a light bodysuit for casual wear or plain knit dress underneath for going out..

Gel: After all this time at home, I will rock the heck out of some sequins, even if it's just to run to the store. I thrift my sequined pieces so the cost per wear is reasonable. I might try low rise jeans if 2022's designers have made the back rise higher to fix the "whale tail" problem we faced in the 90s. While the rest of these trends aren't really for me, more power to anyone who wants to own their sexy and wear what makes them feel good.

Maureen Hope: I totally agree with everything you said sequins has always been a big no for me they remind me of disco balls instead I have opted for well made satin dresses with an Aline cut. Just like bodycon dresses I no longer wear those it scream cheap and tacky, sheer top without a vest or camisole underneath it to hide those nipples is ridiculous in fact all this trends are not it for me. Dress classy and carry yourself with confidence.

Robin Wyckoff: that last sheer trend is just astonishing! How do women allow themselves to be objectified amidst the Me Too movement is beyond me.

Robin O'Connor: So many of these trends really prey on younger women who don't have the confidence to wear what works for their bodies.

Sandra Woodmansee: The high waist trend didn't stay with us long. What a shame! I will continue to wear it.

Ola: Tiny cut outs - yes. Excessive extreme cut outs, no. As for micro minis

Danielle: I absolutely love low rise jeans and since I’m fit I look absolutely gorgeous in them! And hated the high rise fat people jeans yuk

Janna Martens: I love runway clothes but your right not everyone is that small you can’t wear outfit s like this on a daily basis .

SWsunsetseeker: Rebecca Minkoff fringed purse is my newest buy. That's enough fringe for me. I think you need to realize most of us are not 6 ft tall and 105 lb like runway models.

Kimberly Perrotis: I agree with everything, none of these fads (not trends, I hope) are wearable or practical, and most are just way too sexy. Like the lady in the sexy bra and business suit, who is going to take her seriously? Appropriateness is still important in real life, if not on the runway. Even you teens, keep your minis to mid-thigh, not shorter, you will attract the wrong kind of attention if they’re any shorter, think of your safety.

Emily Evans: To each her own, but I agree with your opinion on all of these. They would look awful on me! I bet there are many people who would style these beautifully, they’re just not for me!

Silvia Hernandez: Exactly video. I agree with you some of the fashion is strictly for runways! And some it’s not even fashion is just vulgar. I love sequence and yes they are tricky to style for everyday if you don’t want to make a statement. Therefore you don’t rich for it. So I’m very careful not buy unless I get more then one use out of it.

Sylvia Nolastname: Never was a fan of trends. I prefer to wear, what I know works for me and what I feel good in. And DEFINITELY, NEVER going back to the low rise jeans, skinny legs, etc! Been there done that. Many of the fashions here? Are A NO NO.

Judith Arnold: Several years ago I had a fringed top. elt so good in it. then I closed the closet door and caught the fringe. Walked away and there went the fringe. So much for fringe.

K E L L S E Y: I'm 5 feet tall. Slim, toned, and fit. Proportionately, the low-rise pants work best for me and always have. I never got rid of mine, so I'm happy that some of you will be joining me in wearing them again.

JayJay Tailor: The majority of these trends were a definite NO for me....no surprises there...haha! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas Leonie and thanks for all of your hard work this year...and...Sydney says Hello!!

Julie L: you are spot on with these don’t trends. The only one I might consider is sequins, but low rise, bra tops, sheer clothing, micro minis….no thanks

Sandy Robinson: I love the low rise jeans because if my short waist. The high rise jeans choke me and are quiet uncomfortable.

lillobo1 Randolff: I certainly prefer low rise jeans over the high-rise styles. They look too mom jean to me.

Jamie Thompson: With my long waist, low rise jeans were incredible when I was 25.

Denise Aronow: Well, it's clearly not my year, LOL. When I suddenly develop a great singing voice I'll be wearing that fringe on stage though. My fantasy self LOVES the fringe.

cassapia cassapia: A little sequins is ok for certain occasions. I used to wear low rise jeans, they looked better on my body shape, I would call them hip huggers. The sheer pieces a definite no, I believe the fashion houses need some fresh designers in. Obviously they are running out of ideas, therefore the extreme shock factor take. We are going back to square one as far as women being exploited, may sound extreme but our young girls are vulnerable and get caught up in what's "hip". The pressure to even wear such things is mind boggling. I consider myself pretty liberal but that style of fashion is not going to do any female any good.

Aude: Agree with you, I think these trends are going to stay on the runway, I doubt we will see it in the street, I think the last one is not even allowed in my country except on the beach in summer hh
