Your beauty, business and grow your clientele and your revenue in 2021 and next year in 2022. Now you know as a hair, stylist esthetician spray, tanner makeup artist, lasher, brow artist. You know that, in order to keep up to grow your business to grow your clients hell and to make more money, you have to be present online. Think about how much time you spend on instagram and how important social media is for your business strategy. Social media is an online marketing platform that is not going anywhere. Do not worry, but there are so many other things that are coming up on the horizon that you need to pay attention to. If you want to continue to grow this year next year and in the future and as you know, online marketing and everything happening online happens so fast. So i'm going to give you the inside scoop on the big top 10 trends that you need to pay attention to. But first a word to the wise. Some of these trends are going to seem a little bit out there and a little bit too much to handle right now and you're like i don't even know. If i should be doing that or not do not worry, you do not need to pay attention to and work on every single one of these trends. My suggestion is: choose one or two that you want to start experimenting with and pay attention to what your clients are doing right now and what they expect from you get some feedback from them see which one of these trends you want to work on and try Them out a little bit all right, let's jump into them all right. First of all, let's talk about online marketing trend number one which is conversational marketing and chat. Bots now you've probably heard of chat bots before they're those cool things that you can put on facebook and other places so that you can actually converse with clients who are asking you questions in real time, even if you're not physically there, it's so cool you can Set up a bot that actually answers, questions for people helps answer their questions and helps them book an appointment with you, it's so useful. This is especially useful because one recent study found that 50 percent of your clients expect you to be able to answer their questions and be available to them. 24. 7.. Now, because you're working on the salon floor because you've got clients and because you have a life and you need to have boundaries between professional and personal, you should not be answering clients questions 24. 7.. So what do you do? The answer is test out. Some chat. Bots now there's so many cool things that you can do to automate some of the questions and answers that clients have to help them book an appointment and to really just give them customer service, even if you're not physically, there first of all check out manychat, it's So cool it's free and there's a lot of things, cool things that you can do to help have those conversations on facebook, even if you're not physically. There also there's an absolutely incredible app called video. Ask that i personally love and it lets you put like a little video question on your website, so you can introduce yourself on your website to clients with a little video and let them ask you questions and type back, and that kind of thing i love it. Go check it out and then lastly, you can also install on your website the facebook messenger app the facebook messenger app lets. You chat with clients on your website right from facebook messenger either with some automated answering or you can just reply back to them real time. It'S so cool so definitely check out these three apps and just make sure that you are jumping on the trend of finding ways to be more available to clients answer their questions, even if you're not physically there. Alright online marketing trend number two is short: video marketing. You probably saw instagram's announcement about the fact that instagram is becoming more of a video sharing tool. What does that mean for you? It does not mean that you need to be spending hours, making long videos or even doing youtube videos. What this shows is that people, your clients, your followers, are looking for more and more video content, specifically short video content less than 60 seconds. This is actually really good news for you, because instagram makes it really easy through reels, through instagram stories, to quickly set up fun, meme, worthy and funny. Videos where you are the star you introduce yourself, you tell them about your services, talk about some of the products that you sell, there's so many cool ideas, and it's not just about instagram it's about tick-tock um youtube has something called youtube. Reels short videos. You have to pay attention to is micro, influencer marketing, now you've probably heard of influencer marketing like there's like a big instagram star or a big youtuber who partners with a brand. They promote their products and then they get paid for it, and you might be thinking like how would i ever get a big influencer to talk about my services or my products as a beauty business. That'S why i'm talking to you about micro, influencer marketing? It is the future. This is where you partner, with a local mom, blogger or a local um instagram influencer. Maybe they only have 5 000 followers, but they are well connected and well respected in your community. That is the kind of influencer you should be going for. There'S so many ways that you can do it: you can partner with them so that they get a special code so that whenever they post on instagram about your spray, tans or your hair, etc, they get a code that they can share with their followers. For like five dollars off that way, they get rewarded and you get rewarded. You can partner with them to give them gift cards, to give them free services or products, essentially you're rewarding this local influencer to promote your business and it works so well. My friend, brittany bennett, is a spray tan studio owner, in los angeles and a huge part of her client's. Health comes from her group of like 10 influencers that she has on instagram who talk about her spray tans, who tag her and who get their friends and followers to come on and try her out so definitely check this out. This is something that's been happening for years now, and it will only continue to skyrocket and growth in the future e commerce. If your beauty business does not have an online store, yet you need to get with the program. It does not have to be hard. You can set up an online shop for free with square, which is my personal favorites and start out just selling like two three five or ten different products. Listen, the beauty industry is exploding online with online sales. In fact, it's estimated to be more than 700 billion dollars in revenue that clients customers, people around the world are spending on beauty, products, cosmetics, hair products, skin care products online. So you need to be part of this trend. Your clients expected of you these days and speaking of which my next trend to share with you is all about. Shoppable, instagram and facebook posts. You'Ve probably seen it from other businesses out there you'll be scrolling through instagram you'll, see a picture of like a really pretty necklace or something like that, and then you'll see the price tag. Maybe it says 75 there you can click the price tag and it brings you over to their instagram shop, where you can actually purchase the necklace. Your beauty business can do the exact same thing. Imagine if, whenever you share a really pretty hair picture or a really pretty picture of one of your makeup clients and you tag the product that you used there, your followers will love to be able to see the products. It'S an easy way for you to talk about them in a super, easy way for you to boost your sales, so look at integrating your instagram or your facebook with your online shop once you have it all set up. If you use square, which, like i said, is my favorite or shopify, which is the number one e-commerce in the world, you can easily integrate your online shop with your social all right. This one is a little bit out there, but i wanted to put this in here because i think it's so cool and so like science fictiony, almost one of the big trends in technology and marketing right now is ar augmented reality. Think about, like google glasses or something like that where people can put something on their eyes or take a picture of something with their phone and see something super imposed. You know how you could like play a video game by wearing virtual reality glasses, or something like that. I know it seems crazy, but this is actually applicable to the beauty industry as well, where there's so many cool, softwares, apps and technologies that allow you, as a beauty professional, to show some augmented reality to your clients. Imagine being able to have an app in your salon where you can test out different hair colors on your clients, show them what it's going to look like before. You actually do their hair color or as a makeup artist being able to use charts and software and apps on your ipad to show your clients what their makeup look will look like before you even do it there's some really cool apps and software out there, and It'S just at its early stages right now, which is why i know this one's a little bit out there, but keep an eye out for augmented reality in the beauty industry. I'M guessing it's going to explode all right. Let'S talk about our next online marketing trend is ugc that stands for user generated content on social media. This is something that's been happening for years. Only recently people started putting this label on it, but trust me it's going to get so much bigger. So what is ugc user generated content? This is any sort of content that you have on social media, that you didn't actually create your clients or your followers or your community created. For example, say you are a hair stylist and some of your clients post you in their instagram stories, tag you showing how amazing their hair extensions are, or let's say, you're an aesthetician and one of your clients does a little instagram reel talking about their skin transformation. Over the past few months and tags you, this is gold, this is user generated content at its best, and it is the best way to create content, because you didn't even create it. Other people created it for you and you should be sharing it so find ways to encourage your clients to tag you in their stories and their instagram tell them to tag you get a hashtag going and always re-share content. It is gold people love, seeing what your clients are saying about you. One of my friends, jackie k, is a makeup artist and she has her own line of cosmetics, and she told me that almost all of her sales from instagram come from her instagram stories, which she doesn't even create herself. She has her customers who buy her products. Tag her in their instagram stories and she just reshares and people go crazy for it because, again, when your clients and your followers see that other people are talking about you, they get the real scoop. They see what people really think and this creates so much trust. All right: let's talk about online marketing trend; number eight, we're talking all about automation, technology and software for customer onboarding and customer experience. Now remember the good old days when it was all about the phone and customers. Clients would call you to make an appointment. You would, over the phone, tell them about your policies. You would tell them how to show up you'd confirm their appointment via phone, and that was it. Things are changing really fast and you've probably seen that the way that clients want to book appointments and want to get info from you is changing as well. Nowadays, the name of the game is automation, so my friend hunterdonia he's a hair stylist and he teaches other hair stylists how to automate the pre-appointment experience. What that means is that all of his customers and clients who book an appointment with him, don't talk to him face to face. He actually has a little quiz that he sends them before they book an appointment so that they can answer some questions and he can actually filter out clients who aren't right for him. The clients that you know answer those questions in his quiz and are right for him. They automatically get sent a private booking link to book an appointment with him once they book an appointment, they're part of his private portal for clients they can log in. They can change their appointment time themselves. They get answers to all their questions about their appointments. They get emails automated with their his policies, um any sort of information that he needs them to sign. Anything like that. It'S all automated! This is the future. This is what people expect from you as a beauty business, and it helps you so much to save time and to set boundaries with clients so that you're not at their beck and call 24 7.. This has been huge, let's say for 20 years, people looking for local businesses like hair, stylist, aestheticians makeup artist on google, and it is only going to get bigger. My friends, in fact, by now over 50 of local businesses, have over a thousand views per month on their google my business profile. So it's only getting bigger. More and more new clients will be searching you out on google on google maps on their phone. You need to be there so first of all make sure that you've got a google, my business profile set up. And then, of course, once you have a google, my business profile, you need to put in constant work to keep it updated and to make sure that it brings you to the top of the rankings on google so be sure to work on getting regular. Customer reviews make sure that you email your clients or text your clients, after their appointment to ask for review talk to them about giving. You reviews update your page to make sure that it's got new photos that all your information is included on there and slowly. But surely you will start to climb the rankings and be part of this huge, huge wave that will bring you tons of customers, which is local search marketing on google, all right final online marketing trend for you number 10. This is one of my favorites, and this is sustainable, clean and green beauty. You have probably seen that climate change is real, it's happening, and it's something that we are all concerned about and the beauty industry actually does have quite an impact on the environment. In fact, green circle salon says that beauty, salons and hair salons create 877 pounds of waste that are sent to landfills every single minute, every single minute, more than 800 pounds of waste. So, first of all think about the fact that your clients truly do care about your impact as a business on the environment and think about ways that you can improve and decrease your impact. So green circle. Salons is a great place to start they're going to help you figure out how to recycle the waste that you create and also how to promote this. So my second and piece of advice for you is whatever you're doing in your salon in your beauty, business to decrease your environmental impact. Talk about that! Put it on your instagram. Put it on your website make sure that clients know what you're doing because, like i said, they truly do care, and this can often be their deciding factor in helping them to choose the right business for them. And, of course, it's just the right thing to do so that is it my top 10 online marketing trends for beauty, businesses in 2021 and 2022.
