#ZimbabweanYoutuber

What is up everybody today, we'll be talking about hair growth, spilling the tea on what actually worked for me, and i'm saying what worked for me, because i know there's like a whole lot of hair growth tips out there, which your fave natural, hair youtubers are always Telling you, but the truth is i didn't like, do everything and not everything will work for you and you know you just need to learn your hair. So today i'm talking about what actually worked for me like i, don't even think i got a silk bonnet till like one and a half years into my natural hair journey, and yet it's always like okay, when you're fresh into being natural. It'S not everyone who has money to be spending 200 bucks on a bonnet so before we dive right in. Let me actually make it clear that hair growth is more about a length retention than anything else. If and unless your scalp is clogged, then your hair is definitely growing like i know a lot of people are like. Oh, i don't know what i'm doing wrong my hair's, not growing blah blah blah your hair's, probably growing, but then you're not retaining the length. So it may seem like each time like your hair grows and then you're snagging it it's snapping, it's breaking and then it seems like it's actually not growing, and yet you actually just aren't retaining a lymph without rambling anymore. Let'S dive right in so the first thing. The first thing guys like is actually a product. This product has been faithful to me when we talk about length when we talk about volume, when we talk about shine about everything jamaican black, castor oil, pretty legendary. If you ask me, i love it guys, like that's the girl, you that's the girl, you need in your life like if you're trying to grow your hair, it's two brands. This is the more expensive brand, but then this is the og like this is actually what took me through um the first year of being a natural, and that was when you know i was on fire. I was dedicated and everything this misconception, that money means it works better, but then, honestly, this is what works best for me. It'S just that in south africa. I can hardly find it actually got this bottle in botswana. Otherwise, like jamaican black, castor oil is definitely the girl she thinks it. She is like when it comes to hair growth growing out your edges, like volume anything shine like jamaican black, castor oil. I'Ve personally tried coconut oil, olive oil and um, i'm not sure what else, but then ciao. If you're, trying to grow your hair, listen, listen as i get those say. Listen! This is all you need in your life point blank period. So the second thing i use is actually a biotin, but then let it be known that i actually only started using biotin like six months a year into um being natural and biotin. For those who don't know, i don't know if you guys really saw um. It'S actually a essential b vitamin which helps with which promotes hair, skin and nail health, and personally it works for me so yeah, it's not really something which, i would say you run and buy. But then, for me like remember, this is about me. This is about what worked for me. For me, biotin is my best friends, so i just take one a day and that's cool, so the third thing is actually low manipulation. Styles. By this i mean like the ones where your edges aren't being pulled and your ends aren't like flying out, and you know it's just doing too much for your hair. You know like for me um. I actually always had cornrows like when i was in a levels when i was in school, like i always had cornrows like all the time and honestly, that's what actually grew my hair out like when i'd have box, braids or twists or whatever, like. I don't know why, but then, when it's time to take down, i'd, have like huge clumps of hair coming out as opposed to cornrows, where, like i'll, genuinely see growth, which i'm actually trying to go back into, i just need to get a decent wig, but then, Like i'm really trying to go back into cornrows because low manipulation, hairstyles like there's less nagging, there's more length retention because, like there's less breakage, so we're retaining length, which is what we want to do. The fourth thing which worked out for me is actually creating a routine and creating a routine doesn't mean like going and lifting up from someone else and just like using that and saying. Okay, this is what i'm gon na do like. You need to learn yourself first and learn what works for you and bloody bloody blah. So for me i remember, like i incorporated um african beauties, um, tatendas and um. I forgot who else, but then there was another prominent person. Sorry, like i thought i thought someone was messing with me and like starting to to clean outside when they could hear us filming but anyways um. What was i saying, yeah um african beauty to tender and i think chizzy. So i took like all their um natural hair routines and tried to see what worked best for me and i came up with the one which is on my channel. If you haven't watched that what are you doing with your life but anyways um yeah, you have to come up with a routine that actually works for you and the one thing which is needed in your routine is deep. Conditioning. Deep conditioning is basically using like a hair mask or a conditioner and like leaving it in your hair for a long time like wrapped, like you put the conditioner in your hair, then you wrap your hair to like keep in the heat which helps the conditioner to Work, this strengthens your hair, it softens your hair and it really just gives your hair life like deep conditioning like try to do it at least once a week when my first year natural, i actually used to do it like every single week, but they're now, like Every two weeks or whatever, but then deep conditioning is live like that's the girl, you need guys like point blank period. The fifth thing is pretty basic, but then very important and which i struggle with because i have low porosity. Hair is moisturizing because if your hair is moisturized, it won't break if your hair doesn't break you're retaining length, and you know your hair's growing and you're, seeing your length and blah blah blah moisturizing is very important. I suggest like picking up one of these lco loc methods i'll make an in-depth video about that. Those really help, because once your hair's dry, like don't be surprised when you see it snapping and breaking, and you know because that means you are not retaining length. Okay, the next thing that worked for me is actually working in sections when it comes to wash day, because my best friend babria check out her channel. She actually has one one of her steps in her wash day routine. She actually her hair is actually not sectioned. So you know wash day is like so tiring guys, so this one day i was just like okay. Let me just try that out and boom did. I not know two strand knots like that girl just came uninvited and was like hi. I'M here like it was so tragic. So, for me, working in sections helps me with like avoiding knots and tangles, especially shampooing, like african beauty, actually said so that if you're, a type 4 girl and you've ever tried to shampoo your hair in, like one huge glob, you just know how problematic that is. Like it's just we don't, we don't want to do that and then you spend hours trying to work through knots. You start breaking your hair and then there goes your length. There goes your length retention and you know it's just not cute um. The seventh point is actually not to manipulate dry hair. This goes across the board, like there's, no one, there's no one on this earth who can say that no that works for me, because dry hair will always break like that's the last thing you want to do. Don'T ever comb your hair or try to style it when there's no product inside, because, like it'll snap it'll break, you won't, let it rotate, you won't retain a length. You won't retain length, so do not manipulate dry hair. Whatever you do, whether you're trying to section your hair or even worse, detangle, your hair, you do not want to detangle your hair when it's dry so and then another thing that worked out for me is not choosing heat. I'Ve never used heat on my hair. I'Ve! Never used like even like a cool blow dryer like i've. Never i don't. I don't mess with that. Like he's who never heard of her like, i do not know who that girl is because um, you know how this will sound so shady. That'S will definitely sound shady, but you know how like, when people with relaxed hair like haven't, relaxed it like in a little bit and then they like have like, like let's say after they've, removed braids right and then they like try to like make an afro or Whatever that is and like it's just like so like a see-through and it's like oh ciao, she just appears to be just a little bit. Get up to me a little bit ghetto like if you're trying to go for that look, grab a blow dryer and blow dry. Your natural hair, like it will literally get thin and it just won't look cute like i've actually had people in my dms complaining about how um you know. They'Ve used heat and their hair is now like and they're trying to revive it back and it's kind of awkward and tense because i'm like i don't know what to tell you, because you might have to cut your hair off because, like oh heat, damage is literally Not the goal you want to know like ooh ooh, no, no, no, no ma'am, no man. So the last thing that worked for me is not being in my hair too much that goes back to the low um manipulation hairstyles, but then, like just just leave your hair alone. Man like just let it breathe like it has. My hair has been in these two pom-poms for, like the past three days like i haven't, removed it to like comb it or stretch it out. No, i just just plop my bonets on take it off pop it on take it off brush up the edges and that's about it like try to not be in your hair, so much and limit the use of drying products like gels, because i know some people Always like sleeking their edges, i'm trying to grow mine out. So you see, i have no gel whatsoever. So try to i know some girls say: oh, they don't dry your hair out and blah blah blah, but then like technically, every gel will actually dry your hair out, like that's just the tea. They don't tell you, but then that's like the point. Blank period of it and the tenth last thing like i said, hair growth is in length retention, be very patient. With your hair, like in as much as i said that your hair is definitely growing like it may not be growing as fast as someone else based on genetics and blah blah blah, so just be patient with yourself you'll get there like at some point. I was a bald head, as you seen the thumbnail, but then like we're here today and yeah, but thank you guys so much for watching. Thank you so much for 6k subscribers. I love you guys so much until next time.

Beverely K: your skin , your face , your crown , top tier ♥️

Gouta Kelebeng: My goal is to have healthier and thicker hair like hers❤️

morgyn: imagine being pretty as her- cant relate. imagine having as much hair as her or having hair that long- cant relate. shes a queen.

Falech Cee: Thank you for mentioning Zimbabwe and raising awareness right there..it’s people like you that make me realize African is African regardless of where you’re from. You’re loved❤️

Yolanda M: I honestly hope and I always pray that your channel grows. Your hair is a perfect example for type 4 hair. Like I'm tired of watching tutorials of girls who claim they're type 4 hair when they're not and giving some of us false hopes about our hair. Thank you for the tips❤❤.

Bluebird: You are so right. Ladies, listen, give your hair what it asks for. First, remember your genetics play a huge role. Secondly, what goes in your body nourishes every part of you. So good nutricious food and drink. Do not just copy and paste other people's hair routines. Sometimes, you could have the same hair type but different porosities etc and somebody else's products may not work for you. I learnt the hard way. In my case, i wash in sections like she advised; deep condition regularly with my ORS or African pride hair mayonnaise; i also use the creme of nature leave -in conditioner (the only one that has worked for me), then i seal my hair strands with grease (kuza indian hemp or dax or doogro). Be tender with your hair. Oh and i know how crazy this last one will sound, but someone told me to talk to my hair kindly every day so i do not get mad at it or frustrated. Let me tell you, talking to my hair helped me deal with wash day frustrations.

cassball7: I love your South African accent! I visited a few years back and the country is so beautiful! Length retention is my problem. My hair grows but breaks off. I’m trying to really take care of it now.

Tracey Dumase Banda: Length retention is definitely number 1 for sure. I feel like most of us naturals focus too much on everything else but don't take specific measures to retain our length. Also that Top Class castor oil is IT sis yasss!!!!! Sidenote: You're gorgeous! ❤

Monae’s Way: You are stunning! Loved the hair video and tips, I recently big chopped and needed every bit of this video lol. Mostly I very much appreciate you for supporting the people of Zimbabwe and spreading awareness. I took the time to sign the petitiion and donate, God bless your new year❣️ New subbie.

Bonolo Marumo: The best hair tip I got was to leave my hair alone.

Lily Raimey: I know how to grow my hair, I honestly just clicked for your beautiful skin.

T B: I’ve been growing my hair out since May, and One of the oils I use is castor oil. Can’t wait till I take out these braids out and see the results!

Melo Stephenson: This is actually the first Ted Talk on natural hair I've literally sat down and listened to ❤️ thanxx sis

Hiraeth s: If there was ever a live action version of Minnie Mouse you would definitely be her!

itty bitty piggy: I'm so gassed to see a South African girlie out here in the natural hair youtube sphere this is everything!!

Sa’Riah Monae: Your melanin is popping!! Loving the puffs by the way.

Olusayo Ajetunmobi: Watching all the ads so she can get her coins, she deserves!!

Latifa Mthembu: Your hair is amazing especially grown in a space of two years wow hun!!

BABUYA: Can we also talk about this quality content we’re receiving CONSISTENTLY !!!!

Oge O.: I manipulate dry hair and it works for me. It's usually not too dry (has been moisturised previously). I think it works for ladies like me with thinner strands cause adding water just makes our strands weaker and easier to break. Adding moisture makes it shrink, knot and break more than a person with thicker hair strands. So dry or almost dry hair is the best for me to work with from experience.

Anime: As a fellow Jamaican black castor oil is the G.O.A.T

Naturally Az • Iz: For my baby hairs if I ever wanna lay them I use Aloe Vera Gel from the Plant!!! Not only does it lay them but it also keeps them growing in thick and healthy. Unlike gels with alcohol ingredients which dry and strip away your hair. Hope that helps anyone cause she’s absolutely correct. Gels and those harsh edge controls will do more damage than good in the long run. Remember too much of anything can be bad. Save them for special pics or events if you want a super sleek look. Embrace those fuzzy kinks babies

Grace. DDiog: Length and Volume are definitely my number 1 goals with my hair (also we have the same texture so its giving me alot of hope hopefully my hair can look like yours :) ) love you videos x

Mandisa Shangase: Such a great video! I’ve been natural for a few months so I definitely can’t wait to implement these tips and see how much my hair grows okay

_bupe: Omg, that cheaper castor oil is the one I use too. Glad to know it actually works and I should just be patient. Getting pointers from a fellow African really is the way to go bc you won’t need to ship half the products from Amazon

Neliswa Makhaye: 1.You’re so pretty. 2. Your skin. 3. Your hair.

Sy'Asia Smith: What she said about knowing your hair is so important don’t let that go over y’all heads. I personally need to use heat in my hair at least once every couple of months (blow dry) otherwise my hair starts to get really tangled at the roots and my hair would really struggle to retain moisture causing a lot of breakage . But I have many friends that are against heat and their hair is able to flourish just fine. Know what works best for you ✨

Taona Hanjahanja: Accentttttt❤❤❤❤who else here is African?? Show your flagssss

Michelle’e: Thank you so much for the tips. I have always loved using the Black Jamaican castor oil. I have also learned that what works for others won’t necessarily work me that is why I am going through my journey to see what really works and what doesn’t. Oh and you have an amazing skin. ❤️

Miss. Benin in America: Your Hair looks really healthy !

bang bang out of the room: Skincare routine please. Let's talk about how gorgeous she is.

Maks McLuck: There’s actually no “trick” or “game changer” for growing healthy natural hair. Everything you mentioned is the way. & they’re basic, regular things. Bo rice water & all those things are unnecessary. You just gotta know your hair & choose the right products for it.

Anita’s beauty Corner: Ok so I’ve chopped my hair off 2x in my hair journey in the past 6 years and I recently chopped it off to neck length 3 months ago due to bleaching my hair and now I’m at collar bone. I’ve been protective styling and moisturizing and that alone retained 90% of my length. Don’t over trim, don’t under trim. My hair always grows back to mid back quickly this way. Good luck ladies! Oh and don’t forget to take vitamins, not just biotin! If your body doesn’t have what it needs your hair won’t grow ☝

Rehauhetsoe Daemane: I petition for a tutorial on that amazing hairstyle.

Let's Talk Personal Finance: Thank you for this video! I was actually contemplating buying some Jamaican Black Castor Oil and you just convinced me to! Your hair looks amazing btw

Judith Priestess: You're so pretty!!! Congrats on your journey. I also appreciate the honesty.

CeeLitty: Love the hair tips but can we get a skincare routine sis you literally glowing omg such a beauty

Watiri Njeri: Imagine having a crown like hers, skin like hers. Oh wow. I wish I could relate

Jelissa Jonas: You are so beautiful sis.. hair is on point, skin is radiant and glowing just everything!!

jichuverse: My natural hair is my insecurity, because it does grow, but the growth doesn't show. That's why I always wear braids.

Motolani Akinyemi: Loved your skin care video. This is also great but few minutes ago, I saw a video about how biotin doesn't actually work and can be dangerous to you. I think you should research it just to be safe. Other than that, thank you❤️

hahaha70263: Love a sista that takes care and embraces their natural hair.

Zimkhitha Zantsi: You’re beautiful I must say , I feel like your external beauty reflects what’s internal within you .❤️

anything 4 selenas: Her skin is glowing and I wish mg hair was as long as hers

Tiela Leo: My hair is like literally the same texture as yours. Oh my gosh, I'm so happy. ✨

Halle Ruiz: You are so pretty girl and your hair is so thick and healthy I swear I’m going to get like you I’m speaking it into existence

g.abbyy07: Her skin is beautiful and clear and glowing ❤️

This Nigerian Loves Drinking Garri: My hair is literally this length or maybe a bit longer and I’ve done absolutely nothing to it. I don’t wash it regularly. I don’t moisturise and I don’t even comb it well. I honestly don’t treat the poor thing right *BUT* it still keeps on growing anyways due to the fact that my maternal and paternal sides have long and thick hair. People try to downplay genetics when it comes to hair growth but I think that’s the most important factor one has to consider.

Sunshine Love Yashar'al: I actually had to stop using BJCO bcuz it literally made my hair so thick that i damn near wanted to cut or texlax it ... but I love my natural hair to much to go back to the creamy crack .

Mocha Dee: You really look like Chev B, another natural hair YouTuber! And the shine on those puffs, the glow on the skin!

Zama Nzuza: Everything you said is 100% correct and I follow 70% of your tips for my 4C hair. Not forgetting water. Ladies tend to leave hairstyles in for a whole month without atleast spraying their hair with water which is unhealthy. Your hair needs water to grow. Even if you spray it with water twice a week in your protective styling, feed your hair some water. Also, I have been using CHEBE POWDER and RICE WATER as a hair treatment for the past five months and it has been working miracles for me.

Poison Ivy: It's so cool she said what works for *her" hair. My hair doesn't take to products at all or eco gel and that's just my hair. It loves fresh aloe, coconut oil and castor oil. I haven't seen any split ends since I stopped using all these products.

Sbongumusa Khumalo: Beautiful, realistic and informative ❤️ I’m in love

Amenenge Shatilwe: You are so well articulated and soooo beautiful!!! Thank you for the tips!!

Simi Sanni: Love your videos ♥️ skin glowing, hair looking luscious.

Neroli Rowena: i used to blow dry my hair soooo much and i did so two weeks ago and omggg there was literally a demaction between my healthy roots and my ends. like my ends were so thin and my hair looked so bad so i had to cut most of it off. NEVER AGAIN

B3llie: Omg thanks for this I’m 17 and my hair not grown past my shoulders So hopefully this works

Melissa: She’s so lucky ☹︎ I’ve been struggling just to grow my hair for a long time my hair is so short and thin and I cry about it half of the time because it never grows and seeing people with so much just hurts me a lot it’s okay tho I’m trying

Asnath Kayembe: Girl I love your skin... Perhaps you should do a tutorial on skin care

Annali: It's simple: I see a beautiful girl with gorgeous hair, I click.

DJ Makhaye: Yo guys, I know realise how MISTREATED my hair was when other people were doing my hair. It would be snagged and pulled, my hair would fall out and people would just I have "bad hair". I would have super tiny and tight cornrows that would give me TERRIBLE HEADACHES. My hair would be ripped out of my head and I could feel it. It's so sad guys‍♀️‍♀️

samantha .: Your hair is everything to be honest , I've beeeeeen watching this video Skincare routine please !

Aniexo: I am the opposite cornrows don’t work for me I get more breakage but box braids help me retain length! That’s why it’s so important to know your hair wow ❤️ but you look beautiful

Bonga Nkosi: Hi I absolutely love your hair and thank you for this video. ♥️ Regarding no heat, when I go to the salon , they want to stretch out the hair with a blow dryer before plaiting. How do you deal with that ? Or do you do your own protective styles or have a person who does them for you so that you don't have to apply heat ?

@thuli_supreme: New subbie. I just had my big chop and will definitely follow your tips. To more hair content

Selloane Khampepe: Love love your content!! I like how you are so honest

Lona Mgabe: When she said, Jamaican black castor oil I said it with her because I know ukba that oil is really the girl❤️

Creative Minds: I love your personality and the tips are very helpful. Imma try to grow my crown. Your gorgeous✨

Zandile Nokoyo: A new subbie ❤️❤️. Girl!!! Your hair's popping, your skin's glowing...in love with your personality ❤️

Mari a: The easiest way to grow ur hair IS LEAVE THE DAMN THING ALONE thats how my hair grew I used to open my hair literally a day after closing it smh

antisocial._: I have been looking for a Zimbabwean girl, like thy, with this type of content, thank you!

Kaydi LG: A south african natural!! Represent girl!!❤

Waithira Becky: This is so true I have been using Jamaican black castor oil for so long and have never regretted....my hair is longer than yours but when it comes to volume yours is much way better

Juanita Mazuba: When you spoke about the afro being see- through on relaxes hair I died coz my hair literally was like that before I went natural

Yolanda Benjamin: Hi coffee I started by natural hair journey I’m into 3 months grown through, which is pretty short but I start using Jamaica black castor oil. I hope it works

Darlene :): I've watched ALOT of natural bloggers. You're my favourite local... Your gorgeous I'm just starting starting my journey..... It's the skin and face beat for me...

Vanessa Isaac: I love how sincere you are fr ❤️ I subscribe already❤️

Nneoma A.: Girl you’re gorgeous . Thanks for the advice!!

Black Doll: Since we was in quarantine i lose a lot of hair now I’m trying to grown it back !!

Brandi Forr: woooow! Your hair is absolutely beautiful :) I need to start using biotin again bc i used to use it a lot when i was transitioning and it actually worked

R: thank you for raising awareness in the bio✊

Vanessa Kandjise: Did you say this is two years worth of growth ?? I'm shook. Its beautiful though. ❤

Basani Makondo: Loved all the tips! Also you're glowing!

Drezhanae C-bell: Your skin is GLOWING sis

Busi Pearl Phakathi: beautiful and simple "How to grow your hair steps. Thanks.

Diana Walker: the only problem with me is that the sides and edges of my hair is GONE and i think its bc mainly because of the amount of protective hairstyles I would always put which is box braids

Akani Makhubela: I legit cut my hair today because I want it exactly like this.

Anita Malavoloneque: Loved your tips. Will definetly use it.

Norah Njonjo: but girl doesn’t your hair break when you sleep in two pompons? i feel like i have to braid my hair every night because it’s gonna break so idk if i really have to do it or not. love your amazing hair btw x

Linathi Jojo: 1) I just got onto the Jamaican black castor oil, loving it so far. 2) How do you stretch your hair without the heat?

Nolo R: I've never seen such beautiful hair in my life

Owethu Ndaba: for me box braids work best with growing my hair , in February i cut my hair close to my scalp but now its just past my neck when i pull it .

Patricia Ssebakijje: Jamaican black castor oil Deep conditioning Moisturizing Don't manipulate dry hair No heat

SEVYN: thanks for this i recently shaved my hair 4 months ago to start my natural hair journey and you inspire me cause girrllll your hair is beautiful

zusakhe ntloko: i am in this sick habit of blow drying my hair after undoing my protective hairstyles bc i’m trying to “show my length & growth” .

A Young: Yes girl Jamaican Black Castor Oil.... Btw I'm Jamaican n I'm going back natural n what u speak is all facts ‼️
