Hey the the how much it costs first, i just um to start. I don't feel good, i'm feeling a tad bit under the weather. Oh marianne count your days, yeah, i'm not feeling too good and i'm feeling a little black, but i still got ta comb. My hair out - and i figured why not record it since i have to do it anyways honestly, i was supposed to be actually like doing something to my hair that'll, like last me to the new year or whatever, but i just don't think that's gon na happen Tonight, like i, don't think it's gon na happen. Look i had left one uh twist in from when i had my hair um, how i had it this past week. My hair is actually not as bad as i thought it was, but we'll still detangling this on here, like some a plastic thingy. Just in my hair chilling it's not telling how long that's been there too, but while i detangle my hair well first of all hold on because i'm all over the place. I had my hair twisted in some two strand twists for about. Let'S see, when did i twist my hair, i twisted my hair on december 16th and then i took it down on christmas, so i had to twist it for almost 10 days or whatever over a week um i could have kept them in a little longer, probably Like a day or two or whatever, but i chose to take them down because i didn't want them because they were getting frizzy and i didn't want them all freezing on christmas day, i was trying to be a little cute or whatever, so i took them down And now this is my hair um. I haven't washed my hair in about three weeks, so i'm gon na probably wash it on thursday, today's monday and i'm gon na, probably wash it on yeah, i'm gon na, probably wash it on thursday, which i'm of course gon na record and film, for you guys, Um so yeah, this is the state. My hair is in right now and actually now that i look at it, i'm actually not too mad at it. It doesn't look bad, but i still i'm still detangling whatever, because whatever, but i could just like not detangle it y'all know, i'm lazy. I could work something else out for the mean time in between time, a nice little half up half down moment is that what it's looking like, yeah, that's um! That'S exactly what it's looking like yeah this! This video is changing as i'm doing it change of plans slightly. No, we have something else in mind that i'm definitely not mad, so my hair was kind of already split in half from when i did the twist. So that's just where i left: the hair parted boom can't see, and now we just gon na put this hat into one ponytail. Just that simple folks, but really. The reason i brought you out here is to give y'all some hair care tips. I thought i was just going to be detangling my hair and giving some hair care tips as i detangle it, but i'm not even going to detangle it anymore. But i'm still going to give a few of the like slept on hair care tips that i'm aware of that. I feel like are small things, but make you know a huge difference in how i'm able to retain some length and how i can kind of maintain the thickness of my hair. So the first slept on step that i think a lot of you need to do. If you don't do is conditioner, when i use conditioner whether it is leave-in conditioner rinse out conditioner, you name it conditioner. I don't put it on my scalp directly. I don't massage any conditioners into my scalp, mostly because it just doesn't feel right. It just doesn't feel like something that's really necessary for me specifically, but um. I just kind of feel like it's just too much it kind of clogs. You know your scalp produces a lot of natural oils that can benefit your scalp. That are, you know, producing for your scalp in favor of your scalp. So i just don't think your hair needs that much moisture to that. That comes from a leave-in conditioner, a rinse out, conditioner. Anything like that. I promise you your scalp can do without that. So no, mr, i don't even know if that's like making sense but like don't massage any conditioners into your scalp um. I don't have like a scientific reason. I don't really have what i think it does to the hair, but i just don't think that your scalp need all that conditioners. To my knowledge are for the the ends of your hair. They are to bring moisture down the tress. You know what i mean not necessarily for this scalp um, and that brings me to oils now. Oils can be a little tricky. I'M just brushing my hair with some water. By the way, oils can be a little tricky because it's like they have all of these. You know natural health benefits that you know most natural oils are said to have, but i don't think oil should be something that you use over excessively and when you do use it, it has to be used properly. And when i say properly i mean you can't wake up, i'm not saying what you can't do, because different hair, textures and types require different things. But for me the only times i use oil is only like twice. I mean like in two scenarios. The first scenario is, i have a protective style and i just want to you know, add some shine and you know get the flakiness off of my scalp. While i have a protective style, then i'll use some type of oil. The only other time i use some oil is when i am just taking down a protective style and i'm going to wear my hair like either wavy or curly from the twist or the braids that i just stick out then i'll wear then i'll put some oil On my hair, then take the twist down or braids out or take the braids down and add a little oil to the ends, to give it a little shine and seal it whatever me personally, i don't think just waking up, you know, and only adding oil to The hair is is like beneficial health-wise. I think it simply just adds a little shine, but oil isn't moisturizing. So don't expect to have any moisturizing effects from oil. I think oil is a sealant and it seals in whatever state your hair is in in that moment that you put the oil on there. My logic, which just might be incorrect, but my logic with that, is that if i put some oil on my hair when it's feeling dry, it's just gon na seal in the dryness and add some shine. If you ask me it's not going to add any type of moisture to my hair, i think oil works best when you go in with something that is moisturizing like some type of like leave-in conditioner, some type of water even and then add some oil, then i Think that's what, when oil is beneficial because it seals and locks in that moisture, not sure if that's making sense but yeah, this ponytail is a little tight, but something you should take into consideration is pretty much anything tight. You can bet it's probably pulling out your hair, it shouldn't be pain. Nothing should be like painful to your hair. You know what i mean like if you like, compared to a body part, and you you lay in a way that, like my arm, is hurting from laying this way it's not beneficial in too long in that position, who knows you can break your arm arm? Go to sleep all kinds of stuff and it's the same thing for hair. Anything. That'S like pulling tight on your hair for too long is pulling out your hair. So let's lay off them tight, pulled ponytails, tight braids. You know that stuff, it shouldn't be painful and if it is painful, take it out. If you know me, i'm quick to take a style out. If it's too tight, it's too tight, i got ta. Let it go. I got ta, let it go, i'm not about to sit in pain or be losing no hair or no edges for nobody. The next tip which i've talked about before is to use the least amount of shampoo as possible. Now there are some shampoos that are sulfate free that are less drying for the hair, but the thing that turns me off about shampoo is that it prevents me from being able to comb my hair while shampoo is in it. I literally can't detangle it and that to me is like a red flag. I should be able to go on my health with whatever product that i'm putting in it should be softening up. My hair, not you know, making it harder to manage. So, for that reason is why i say minimal shampoo. Now, a healthy, clean scalp does promote growth, but also a scalp. That'S not stripped of the natural oils, and you know just a scalp in its natural state is also you know, beneficial as well, and sometimes a little water very little shampoo and a good scrub with the this parts of your finger. Not the nails will get that cake up off of the scalp and you'll be able to rinse it through the rest of your hair. I can't tell you the last time that i've actually used shampoo on my ends. I can't tell you the last time, probably been over two years since i've actually took some shampoo and lathered it on the ends of my hair. I'M gon na twist it tonight and then take it down tomorrow and that's gon na, be my hair for tomorrow and we'll calm it down. Oh, while i'm talking about shampoo, you know when you're washing your hair, you wanna condition your hair first right. So once you get in the camera, rip wet it put some conditioner on it, detangle it right! Then, when you shampoo it, you either want to shampoo it in sections or just shampoo, the roots and wherever you put some gel in or whatever and then go back in with the conditioner after you rinse that out. I find that when you take the shampoo and you kind of just go like all over the hair with it that you're just tangling tingling your hair up and when you go in with that conditioner and you want to detangle your hair. It'S going to be a little tough because you just balled it up and now you know, does that make sense yeah if you ball your hair up and shouldn't pull it all out like that you're making it tangled and harder to manage after the fact so try To you know shampoo it after detangling it with some conditioner on it. Don'T don't go all crazy, lathering all the ends up here and all of that you know, focus it on the scalp rinse it through protective styling is important, um keeping those ends tucked away because wearing your hair out 24 7 like this, can be drying, but twists And stuff i find holding moisture longer so yeah that's a tip, but none of your protective styles should be painful if it's painful, it's not healthy and it's probably doing more damage than it is good, so use the least amount of heat as possible. Um heat is just damaging, i don't even know how else to explain it. It'S just not good for our hair. It'S not it burns. Just like it burns your skin, it burns. Okay, now anything can be used and done in moderation and not be damaging. Of course right, my camera is dying, but just a couple tips for the road um always start detangling your hair on wet to damp hair um. If my hair is dry, when i'm detangling um best believe i am most definitely going to spray it with some conditioning water or just water by itself. Before i put that comb to it, and then you always want to start off with a wide toothed comb so that you can get the majority of those kinks out, then you can go in with something smaller that just helps prevents unnecessary, shedding from just going in With a small toothed comb anywho, thank you guys so much for watching i'm just going to put my scarf on put my brine it on and go to bed um tomorrow, i'll, probably upload a short of what my hair, you know, looks like um, always treat your Hair with love think happy positive thoughts when you're doing your hair. If you're doing your hair thinking about how much is breaking off, that's what you're going to see. You know your thoughts, create your reality um, but that's another story. Be gentle!
