Secrets To Growing Long Hair : Curly / Healthy Hair Tips

These are the secrets that I have learned over they years that helped me grow my hair so long! They are great for curly and natural hair. Enjoy your road to healthy hair!

Hey guys, what is up it's your girl, champ, and i am back with you guessed it another fabulous video today. This video is dedicated to all of my curly kings and queens out there. I'M gon na be telling you guys my secrets to getting my hair to grow so long as you can see this for anyone who's new. This is all my real hair. Take a look at the part. That'S my real hair! So before i really get into the video, let me just let you guys know a lot of people are like you know what your hair just grows. That long, because you got good genetics. Part of that is true. I do have great genetics, but the other part is, i think, a lot of people. Don'T know they have good hair because they don't know how to take care of it and they think that their hair can't look like mine or their hair. Can'T look good because of their genetics release you, you, don't know what you're doing you're not doing the right things for your hair to flourish. So today, i'm going to tell you what i did to make my hair grow nice and long now, just really quick before this um i get into this. Let me tell you back: in the past there were times when i ruined my hair. I ripped it. I messed up my curl pattern, so let me insert a couple pictures now, so you can see the full improvement and know that i really know what i'm talking about here. We go so, as you can see here. This was after i had to cut my hair because i broke off a lot of my ends and had split ends from how i was brushing it, and in this picture you can see that a lot of my ends, especially at the top, were straight and didn't. Curl anymore, and that was from straightening my hair, which i did almost every day for like three four years wow. So as you guys can see, i ruined my curl pattern before there were times when it was a little straight on the ends. I broke hair off. All kinds of things - and now i could say this is truly probably the healthiest my hair has ever been even take a look at that right now i only have conditioner in my hair, that's it, and this is a day two for the braid shocker anyways. So, let's get started the first thing that i did that helped my hair grow long is realizing how and when to brush, and when i say when to brush that means not brushing your hair when you're too tired, not brushing your hair when it's dry, unless you're Just putting it in like an updo, really quick, but like never detangling when it's dry when you're too tired, meaning when you're not going to take the time to brush it the correct way. If people who know me know sometimes i walk around my hair. Looking a mess, why? Because i'm not gon na brush through it, if i'm too tired and i'm gon na end up, ripping it so make sure you're dedicated to actually doing the right way, which is in sections. So i wouldn't even brush this and this together. I would break this into like five small sections from the um end to the root. Now, let's say i'm brushing here and then i'm going higher and i reach a tangle. You got to go back down and detangle that get through the tangle make sure it's going smooth before you move up at all. So let's say: there's a tangle here. Get it out then go up a little bit. Okay, if it's still smooth keep going up once you get a tangle, wait till you work that out before you go up and everything is smooth. You want to work the tangles down. Also, i only brush my hair with conditioner in it. That'S the only time i actually detangle it just helps it go a lot, smoother less ripping, hair and you'll have less shedding, which is basically the hair that comes out of curly hair. You know over time because curly hair, you know you lose a lot of strands. A day hundreds of strands a day but curly hair, usually the hair strands, get stuck so they all come out when we're detangling. So a lot of times. We get scared, oh my god, there's so much shedding! Guess what it's cause it's been stuck in there for days also, i make sure that i don't brush my hair every day, so only when i need to - and i also finger brush most of the time, there's two different types of brushes that i use denman brush. Basically, as you can see, there's hair in it too, so you know i use it, but you see there's no balls on the end. This i swear is the best when i have a hard tangle that i can't get out, but i try to use just my hands finger brush because you can really feel each knot. It'S a lot easier to make sure you don't rip your hair that way. But when i get stuck, i whip out my denman next. You got to make sure that your hair is staying moisturized. I know growing up with an all white family. They used to try to just put products in my hair that were for black people and then when i would try to put products, and they were just for white people that wouldn't work either. The key is with curls, moisture, moisture, moisture. That'S all you want. Okay, so a product doesn't necessarily have to be for curly hair. As long as giving you a lot of moisture, it will help your curls and make them look healthy help them grow long and make them strong. Another thing that i use for moisture is i deep condition my hair, and i usually do this like once a week or once every two weeks now, if you guys want a list of deep conditioners that i use, i will do that in a different video, because I use different ones depending on what i need it for, but one that i would recommend is this one. So this is carol's daughter, almond milk, daily damage, repair, ultra nourishing hair mask and i love it. It works wonders people so take a screenshot. It'S pretty good for your hair and i'm using it right now. Another thing that i do is i always make sure that my hair is safe. When i sleep okay, i do that by using a silk pillowcase, either that or some type of a silk scarf. If i have an updo whatever i do, i'm protecting my hair at night. This also helps with your skin too. So you want to treat your hair and your skin like silk. You don't want to mess it up at all, so i use a silk pillowcase. This helps with frizz helps my curls last longer, so i don't have to wash my hair every day. It'S great another thing that i do is when i'm styling my hair. I make sure that i use a curl friendly, hair tie. That would be something like this or a regular hair tie as long as it's not the one with the metal on it. That will rip your hair out for sure. Also guys be careful with that when you're wearing hats, the hats with the metal clasp at the back, that often rips out your hair too. So be careful of that. Another thing that i do when i'm styling my hair and i'm putting it up with a hair tie or it braiding it or whatever. I do. I make sure that i'm not putting it too tight. Now, there's a difference between tight and sleek. You can use products to style, your hair that will make your hair stay better so that you don't have to pull it so tight. So, as you can see, i have this braid in, but the braids actually not tight at all. So i don't want to rip any hair strain any hair stretch, my curl pattern. None of that. The next thing i do is i make sure that when i am styling my hair, besides keeping it loose, i try to do something that i can last more than one day. So when my hair is down and curly, i will probably not fully wash it or brush it out until, like three days later, i usually have like a three day rule when it's down and curly day, three curls are huge big fluffy, curls i'll insert a picture. Now and when i do something like this, i um sleep with a hair wrap on some type of a hair, wrap some type of a scarf just to keep it down that way. I don't have to redo it. The next day, i usually let my hairdos last one to two days, but this goes back to the first tip that i gave you guys knowing how and when to brush your hair. If i'm too, tired guess what i don't care, how my hair looks imma, let it last three days four days five days, because i'm not going to rip my hair, it's really about being dedicated people. The next tip that i have, for you guys is be careful with shampoo shampoo, can strip your hair of a lot of the minerals and moisture that it needs. So i usually shampoo my hair, i would say usually once every two weeks. I only do it when i absolutely have to, and i feel a lot of build up and my curls aren't curling the same but hey. If i can last a month. I will i don't shampoo my hair. Unless i have to condition, though yes, i use conditioner. All the time i use conditioner to refresh my hair, all of that. The next thing that i want to tell you guys is about the lock method. What is the lock method? That'S how i keep my hair defined. I keep the moisture in basically lock is for locking in the moisture, so that means leave-in oil cream. In that order, i get the best definition that way my hair is the strongest healthiest and it gets less tingly over the days that i keep it. So, for example, let me just show you what i would use. I do different combinations of products on my hair, depending on how i want it to look, but for this just an example is one leave-in conditioner i really like is the camila rose? It'S not um, moisture milk, but i use it as a leave-in. I use this. Then i put oil and this is an oil i got someone gave me this oil years ago, but i have refilled it because i love the bottle. I should probably go buy my own, but i have, i think, sweet almond oil in here that really the thing is what the leave-in moisturizes you, the oil locks, the moisture in and then the cream defines. So when you do it in that order, your hair is nice and defined strong and less tangly. Another thing that i do is i always air dry, my hair, i literally always do i barely ever use a diffuser. When i do my hair gets so big and when i air dry it it allows it to dry and define, and then i can make it last for more days for me personally. If i do need to dry my hair, i just scrunch it sometimes with a micro, fiber, towel and good news, you guys champ, that's me is going to be coming out with her own microfiber towels. So make sure you subscribe to my channel like this video and hit that notification bell so that you can get all the notifications and know when my microfiber towels are out, and that will be very soon so please stay tuned, you guys! I would really appreciate it and your hair will too next. I recommend hair vitamins, i'm going to insert the picture of my favorite hair vitamins here. This is called country life, maxi, hair plus. I got these at whole foods and they're great now warning be careful. If you take this vitamin, it's not only going to help the hair on your head. It'S going to help your lashes. It'S going to help you arm hair. You know you of the hair hair everywhere, so just be warned all right. You guys that was my tips for getting your hair to grow. Long, strong and healthy. Make sure you guys subscribe to my channel, like i said like this video leave a comment. If you have any questions or suggestions for other videos that you guys want to see, i want to teach you my different curly hair routines, depending on what look i'm trying to achieve. I want to teach you some updos and i want your hair to grow with me. So i'll see you guys next time, thanks for watching you

ren_jpg: 1. brush your hair (do it right, only when needed in small sections from end to root, do it properly when it’s wet and when you have the time to do it properly, TIP: brush with conditioner) 2. detangles with fingers or denman brush 3. focus on moisture 4. deep condition your hair (1-2 times a week) 5. PROTECT YOUR HAIR AT NIGHT (silk pillowcase or scarf) 6.use curl friendly hair ties for styling (DO NOT USE THE HAIR TIES WITH METAL ON THEM) 7. don’t style too tight 8. put styles in that last more then 1-3 days 9. be careful with shampoo ( wash at least as possible use conditioner) 10. LOC: leave in, oil, cream (in that order!) 11. air dry or use microfiber towel 12. use hair vitamins

anjeunbener: My natural hair is exactly like yours. Being Puerto Rican, I was the only one of my siblings that came out with thick, corkscrew curls. My mom would brush the curls out and make me look crazy to the point I was picked on in school. That experience made me hate my curls and I abused relaxers and flat irons until I lost 90% of my curl pattern Thanks for the motivation. I hope I can get my curls back someday.

u man saw nufink 💕💕: I’m a 12 almost 13 year old learning about afro hair care after relaxing my hair months ago but thank you for this video!!! I’m trying to grow my natural hair out again, I can see the roots growing in but some of my hair is straight at the top and gone back to my natural curly at the bottom, so when it does grow back idk what to do but thank you sm honestly you’re videos are great

Tiff: Beautiful healthy hair. All my kids have different textures hair and curl patterns. My youngest daughter has 4c hair, my middle daughter has 3b and 3c hair, and my oldest daughter has 4a hair. The one who has 4c hair has tailbone length hair and the thickest. All of them hair healthy hair. I thick everyone's genetics are good in the right caring environment. I take care of my kids hair but if I didn't I'm sure their hair would be broken off and not long. Good hair is definitely healthy hair.

Laila Emma: Your personality and energy makes it fun to watch this video! thanks for the information I really want to grow my hair this summer :) also Danielle is SUCH a pretty name!

Meriel Lyon: I have 3c-4a, fine, hi porosity curly hair. The loc method gave me amazing moisture for days. My problem was build up from aloe vera, not rinsing enough or shampooing just one time and too much product. I had really bad shedding. Also my scalp does not like oil on it. After a day it gets tender in spots. The no oil/butter challenge help me realize it. Oil only on my ends now or as a prepoo and wash it right out. Oh shampoo was very drying too, so I use conditioner before I shampoo when I don't do hot oil and rinse, rinse, rinse and repeat. I snip a lot of single strand knots. A blowout on cool was suggested to help avoid them. It has taken over a year to learn what works for my hair and scalp. It's a journey not a sprint.

fantasy uwu: If you have curly hair, NEVER use velvet scrunchies they absorb the moisture, and overall don't give good results.

Psychology Eats: Your wash days must be epic! I have been natural for almost a year and it takes work! My hair is short but has been growing since I went natural!

Cierra Freeman: I love how thorough you were. Very helpful, thank you! Great video(:

Chimmy Chimchim: I've taken hair vitamins in the past but they've always made my face break out. Its either I sacrifice my skin for my hair or continue to care for it in the same way that you do. Ive been doing the same method for years but my hair just grows so slow. I try to be gentle with it, I wear it in gentle protective styles, I make sure my ends and scalp are moisturized, and I stick to what ik works for my hair. I honestly dont know what to do anymore.

UnpopularOpinions: I just recently switched, I use to do cream, oil, gel. But I started using leave in first, Cream, and then oil, And I have never loved my curls more in my life. Threw away my straighter about 2 weeks ago, because I kept getting impulses to straighten it randomly, even though I absolutely hate the look now. 6 years of my life went in the trash. It feels good.

HeyHannah: What’s your hair type?? I LOVE your hair girl!!! My mom had that exact hair but a lighter brown colour when I was growing up, but after she passed I never learned how to care for my hair (let alone knowing what hair type I actually had after messing it up so much) so I got addicted to straighteners and Brazilian blowouts to manage my hair. I just can’t take it sometimes, it’s so insanely frustrating trying to deal with this hair and I just give up. What are your suggestions for someone whose roots are growing out curly like yours but whose mids and ends have a “ruined” curl pattern where the top dries frizzy straight and the bottom is curly confused send help!

Luminous Lioness: Thanks so much for the advice! You kept it and I respect that. Your hair is beautiful but more importantly YOU are beautiful! Mucho love ❤

Faith Mcnally: Okay so I started doing these tips a month ago and my hair is so healthy and long

Shawnee Love: Thank you for doing this video. I love your hair. I wanna know how often do you trim your hair and how you prepare your hair before braids. I'm definitely going to get a microfiber towel from you. Great video.

Romaine Wellington: My hair has three different curl patterns lol l love the video girl thanks for sharing how to grow your hair fast

Ireneee: Yes I was only ever using conditioner for my hair and really once shampooing when necessary and putting less heat on my hair and I grew so many inches in a year

Mia Porche: I love your beautiful hairstyle! Simple and easy.... Great video!❤

LaChele: I used to straighten my hair a lot during my high school years. I should've just left my hair as-is (curly-wavy). I wash and condition my hair every morning and night when I shower. 'They' say you shouldn't do that, but it works for me. My curl pattern isn't what it used to be, but I'm not too worried about it. My hair is to the middle of my back and I'm thinking about going shoulder length pretty soon.

IndicaOfficial: Lol the genetics part..story of my life

Amanda: Ok Pocahontas i get so lazy with my hair and dont take care of it cuz its so kuch upkeep. I have a tighter curl pattern and just thought about cutting it all off but at the same time i want long hair lol the struggle. I will definitely keep your tips in mind. My hairs about up to the top of my boobs, lets see if i can manage and stop being negligent i love your hair

Mariah Moore: When you started taking care of your hair, how long did it take to reach that length?

Iris Collins: Your hair is gorgeous and your tips were on point.

Cloey Snell: I have almost the exact same hair but I’m white so none of my family knew how to take care of curly hair. I’m trying to get it to grow past my chin

Aramide awowale: I pray that everyone watching this video will have long hair just like you!!

Khamiltate: I have coily hair. Even since I cut my hair it’s been extremely coily which makes my hair looks short, I would love!!!! My hair to be as long as yours.

Emilie's Green: Your hair is so pretty I love your curls

Tatiana Sookdeo: Yasss, thank you for these tips, gave me a lot of hope cuz I want some lengthhhh

pkpatriciakeys2010: Lovely hair care tips ♥️

Mom 101: Going to try all these tips. Thanx for sharing. Def great tips!! Curly hair power haeyyy

Annelise Wood: Thank you for sharing With us, any advice I have been natural for 4years my hair is thin end not even touching my shoulders I'm using Custer oil olive oil taking hair vitamins I'm using onions as a pre-poo I do use a silk wrap for sleeping, I do deep conditions once a week

Fritz4Bass: Danielle: Until about 18 months ago I had never heard of categorizing hair types such as 4C etc only kinky, curly, wavy, and basically straight: I’m 50+ years old with three sisters

Encouraged By Ashley : Thankyou ! I’m tired of wearing weave ! Ready to grow my curls!

Aramide awowale: I'm using fenugreek, rosemary, and Alma to grow my hair. I'm 18, and by the time I'm 21, I will have long hair! My hair is medium length right now.

curli-lettey: I use the denman look-a-like brush and I have the brush that has about 7 or 8 rows but doesnt connect at the top (it's only connected to the brush handle) to detangle my hair. I use the same regimen and only use oil when it's time to wash my hair. My ends are curly and very uniformed to the point it looks silky, I must be doing something correct. I've been natural for 12 years, no big chop just dusted my ends as the new growth came in. When I wear my hair in pigtails, the ends fall to my underarm pit, j want my hair to be as long and (Donna Summers) full like yours.

Theresa Puretrini: Thank you for the tips.. you’re awesome.

Edom Aredo: How long did it take for your hair to grow?

Tosh Priest: Yep moisturize is key. If you have low porosity hair. A hydration machine after a clay mask does wonders.

Codech Tapia: God bless you❤️thank you for sharing these tips

dray: okay so, my hair is curly, but from 2c-3c, because of damage from the sun and dying, its also not thick, its on the thinner side, however i have a lot of hair. im really unsure about what to do because i cant find any resources for my specific hair type, does anyone relate or know where i can get good information for hair growth for thinner 2c-3c hair?

Slim Jim: How long did it take for your hair to get to that length?

Ava Wizmann: I’m Jewish and also white and have curls just like yours and this helped so much but rapping my hair in a scarf or whatever makes my hair very curly but SOO short!!! So I always braid my hair with conditioner and sleep with it and rinse it in the morning is that okay?

Lady D: You forgot to mention that you must trim your hair, you can have long hair, and looks healthy, but doesn’t feel healthy. But I agree that the key is moisture.

Emilie's Green: Finally a hair video!!!

Angela Banks: Team curls...I'm going to try the LOC method. I use all 3 but not at the same time after I wash. Maybe that's why after a few days my hair looks drier.

Carmen-Ellen Bell-Inft: So if I take that Biotin, I have the risk looking like Bigfoot Anyways I'm not a hairy woman, I have the same type of hair and I mix hair mask with coconut and olive oil, I must use a leaving conditioner because it ain't easy to manage this type of curls, but I like that is growing fast, I haven't used relaxers but I dye it because red suits me. Here in FL, Summer is cruel like the song so you may need a hat to keep the frizz calm, I also sleep only with satin pillows and the day I wash it, I wrap it with a silk scarf. I also have to use lots of foam for maximum hold but I keep it braided or with a pony tail, in a year I can cut my relaxed ends to match the original texture. Thanks for the tips, do inally a girl who talks straight to the point without blah, blah...Stay pretty with that gorgeous hair!❤️

Isa Isa: Imma start taking care of my hair again. My hair is curly like yours but really short becauses I can’t mange to get it passed my shoulders

Chawnae Smith: Hi had thick n long hair wen my mom relaxed it every 6months sumtimes 2months after n it made my hair thin n straight i loved it bt i realised tht all the relaxer made my hair very thin n few mostly i used heat every 2nd week wen its my wash day woow u reali made me think hard n love to say tht im gnna try keepin heat away n stay in my curls

Amoraya Gutierrez: THANK YOUUUUU

Media 8: Ultra Blessings To You & Everybody Watching! :)

Jermaine Mooney: Maybe you should look into fortified shampoo for fast hair growth.

Penguin Pain: i came here to watch (new) tips this is just what my mom do

Shayna Walker: This helped me so much thank u love

YoNames Doll: You know how hard that's gonna be to brush-? My hairs already long and it's a living hell brushing it

zerosix042013: Lol I took a screenshot before you said take a screenshot! I’m a 3c/4a high porosity, low density although my hair looks super floofie so most people think I have the goods but I’m totally catfishing I don’t even have one of your braids all my hair is like half of one of our braids. But the advantage is Products last me a very long time . My hair hates oils but I use them for pre-poo or when I put my hair in a ponytail. My hair loves raw Shea butter dunno why but it works for me. For me it’s leave-in and Shea-butter and/or a gel. Having enough water in my hair is the most important step for me. I forget to deep condition. But I do co wash with conditioner dry scalp is bad for hair growth. And a great micro fiber wrap is everything! Slow drying of the hair is amazing with a micro fiber wrap and also air drying but when my hair is almost dry I use a blow dryer which is great for creating bangs…. yes I discovered I can have curly bangs. Also I style my hair upside down gives me the floof power I need! These are great tips I also sleep with a satin bonnet and use henna or a henna/indigo once a month which strengthens my babyfine hair but I’ve learned this method is not great for low porosity hair. For vitamins keep an eye on your iron levels, biotin drink with lots of water, msm and silicium are great for your hair too. And no stress drink lots of water, try to eat clean or tons of veggie and fruits rich in antioxidants, don’t eat too much fruits for the sugars also you can take vitamins rich in antioxidants. Don’t go too crazy with the vitamins it is all about diverse meals and be careful of b6 in multivitamins. And of course patience and consistency!

Dennis: My problem is not knowing how to take care of the long hair that I already have-that I've never had in my life. This is the longest my hair has ever been. But it's like not absorbing anything I put in it. It's like putting product on thread.

Elisha Hazoury: First time heregirl you are gorgeoussss and love your hair Blessings
