What'S up and fam welcome back to my channel if you are new thanks for hanging with my crew? Well, today is kind of just me um, but my name is kiara. This is my family's channel um, but every once in a while. I do these videos called kicking it with key. Please help us. We are on the journey to a thousand and hopefully trying to surpass that um. So please subscribe right now. I have some great content for you guys today, it's the first of the year so happy january 2022. I told myself that i was gon na be super super super super consistent with my youtube videos this year. I'M just really praying to grow this channel to some levels. Okay, so go ahead and subscribe and let's get right into this content. So if you have been struggling trying to grow your hair, you don't know the right tips to use the right products to use. Then you are in luck, girl, because i am about to show you how to grow your video um. My hair has been kind of on this journey. I had it, i was growing it and then i got it like. I just keep getting cuts and then i grow it and it gets cut and it it grows. So i'm really like have been so consistent sticking to my routine and i will show you how to grow your hair, so this is a before picture. Um. The date was this was last year. This is the beginning of last year, and then this is current. I took this today um, i can kind of show you guys it is literally down here - and this is literally just um like the years worth of growth, and i got a cut so um i'll talk about all of that. So basically, i always have like. Never really tried to grow my hair um. I just be doing my thing. I never had like a consistent routine, but i did go and get a hair trim and then it got cut into layers that i really didn't ask for um. So i was like. Oh, my goodness, like i wasn't feeling the layers, so i was like really trying my hardest to grow my hair and then i'm like dad like now that i'm actually putting time into it and treating my hair like it can grow. It is like took off. So i have 10 tips for you guys to grow your hair. If you stick with these 10 tips, i'm telling you you guys see my before, and then you see my after um. This is only a year's worth of growth. Your hair is just going to be like flossing down your back. So just to start the background on my hair, my hair is natural. I have never had a relaxer as my hair um, it's kind of on the healthier side. I mean i did some coloring and stuff in college, but it's it's. It'S good for the most part tip number one deep condition. Okay, so i deep condition my hair once every i would say about like once, every five weeks. I don't necessarily do it every month, but i definitely do it like once every two months um. I try to get consistent for every month, but i i skip i fail. I may skip like five or six weeks, but i do this natural, deep conditioner that i make i take avocados. I take an aloe vera leaf and i take coconut oil. All three items from jewel: one stop shop, okay, um very cheap! I mean, if you think about it, the leaf the avocado and the oil is probably like three four dollars total um, i put it out in a blender here - is a little snippet of what i do. I'M actually gon na drop a video right after this one. The following day on how to do that deep conditioning treatment so, like i said, make sure you subscribe, so you don't miss that video, but i do this, like, i would say once every five to six weeks and it has like when i start doing this, like My hair has just thrive like i don't. I was just doing research on different natural things that you could put in your hair and i found the cheat code so make sure you subscribe. So you don't miss that video on how i do my deep conditioner. I already recorded it, so i am going to be dropping that immediately after that and then once i upload it, i'm going to put a little link at the end of this video so that as soon as you finish watching this one, you can watch that one All right tip number two. How often i wash my hair, i wash my hair every other week um and if i could go like skipping three weeks, i will do every three weeks, but obviously my hair is more dry, it's not oily, so i don't really get my hair doesn't get too Dry or dirty or flaky, or anything after a week or two, so i will try to go three weeks and i'm also trying my best to not manipulate my hair because the less you touch your hair, which is called manipulation. The more your hair is going to grow, so i wash my hair. I would say about every two to three weeks and i used i used to use ogx keratin and that seemed to be helping. My hair um, but also like my hair, was shedding a little bit. I don't know if it was the shampoo and conditioner that i was using, so i actually recently switched over to a black owned business and um. It'S called canvas beauty, so i'll put that right here. This is not a sponsor, i don't know the owner or anything, but i recently switched and i do feel like that's, been helping me um. She has a shampoo and conditioner that i use and then also this follicle booster, it's kind of like a minty pre-wash that you use before you shampoo and condition your hair so i'll put that on here, but that's just what i've been using since this summer. I started in july and it's been working. It'S definitely a different feeling from the keratin og x that i've been using. I don't know if that one has sulfate, but another one i'm using currently by canvas beauty does not have any sulfate, which is obviously more healthier for your hair. So that was also another reason i switched, and i also you know i'd be trying to. You know support black people, especially black women in business, so that was the reason for my ultimate switch. Let'S talk about cuts, okay, so cut. It is a sensitive subject for me because it had me crying when i got these layers y'all. So i'm always like. I never really like cut my hair. I do get i used to like i used to just cut my hair, and my hair would just be here and i would cut it up here. I wouldn't care, but now that i'm really like focused on hair growth, like i am so like scared, because sometimes you can get in somebody's chair and you think you're getting the trim and you get it cut or something else happens um. I recently got a trim, but then my stylist cut my hair into layers, and i was like not happy about it now, i'm okay, because they're growing out - and i feel i just i feel like i couldn't style it like. I, when i put my hair in a ponytail, the you would see like you can still kind of see it, but my hair was even all at once and now, when i put in a ponytail, you can kind of like see the the layer parts they get Out and i wear ponytails often because, like i said, i try not to manipulate my hair, but i just i'm happy that it grew back. I'M gon na say that um. So i honestly, i told myself, you know what my hair my ends. They look. They look pretty good like they look healthy when i go without cutting. I said that i'm gon na just start trimming my hair on my own, and i am only gon na. Do it no more than two times a year. If you want your hair to grow, you got to stop putting scissors to it, but if your hair is damaged, you do want to trim the dead ends, just make sure that you're getting a trim and not a cut. The only way that i can confirm that is, if i start doing it myself, so that is what i'm doing so, no more! No more! I'M not cutting my hair in the morning two times a year and it's gon na just be a trim. Next, this one is banger. I do something called scalp, massages um. I got this little thing. This little thing from target is a game. Changer, i'm telling you it's the little things like this. That makes a difference. This is a scallop massager. You can see it. It looks kind of green because of my avocado treatment, so i, whenever i put conditioner in my hair, i use this and it you know when you're washing your hair, you don't want to scratch it. You kind of want to massage it with your fingers to like. Really get those follicles pumping and going - and this is good, so i just take this and anytime - i put any oil any conditioner and especially when i do my deep conditioner treatments. I use this and i kind of just like make sure i'm going all around my hair and i'm massaging my hair, like i said you awaken those follicles up and that's really going to help promote hair growth. This was literally like five dollars from target, so i use that very often, especially when i shampoo and condition my hair all right. My next tip, which i kind of already dab into a little bit, is less manipulation and when i say that i mean i'm not doing my hair every day. So if you see me out at target or something - and i got a ponytail on my famous two french braids um, that is my go-to style - sometimes i wash my hair. I will like um condition it with like oil and then i'll just throw it in two braids and i'm into braids for like two weeks until the next time i wash my hair, i'm not touching my hair unless i really have to go somewhere um. I work from home, so i don't even have to really get up and do my hair i just like put take. You know utilize, the braids and that's that less manipulation. If you don't have to do your hair every day, then don't or please try to utilize a protective style last year with the pandemic happening, i really got into trying out different protective styles. I'Ve never really been one to wear a weave, but i was like dabbing. I did some braids some box braids i'll show here. I actually did these myself um. I did some other type of things. I had my stylist make me a upar wig, which was great because my hair was braided for literally like half the year and once like. I would like take it off and watch it, but i ended up making myself some clip-ins, so i had my hair braided and i would just wash it braid it throw the clip on when i needed it wash it braided like. I just kept repeating that cycle and me not manipulating my hair me not touching it just leaving it. Braided up really did promote the growth for my hair, so less manipulation. Try not to keep yourself always digging in your hair. Keep those protective styles braids ponytails and a very loose ponytail. You don't want anything too tight, but i'm the ponytail queen everybody around me knows i rock my ponytails, i'm not messing with my hair and that's that next tip um silk press. So i currently am rocking a silk press right now. I did this myself um, like i said i really do try to stay away from manipulating my hair. I have been staying away from salons i'm. I know how to do my hair and i used to on reception at this line, so i really have really good product knowledge if you don't by all means, seek a professional um, but i did this. I did this. I think i want to say two days ago. The thing is, i don't really so press my hair. Often my husband begged me he's like babe. You know. Can you please like do something to your hair? Like i said, i work most our hands in my hair, but i was like fine sure i'll do my hair um, so i watched the blow dryer and this time i actually strained it um. So when i do my silk presses, i probably i'm not gon na hold you. I do maybe like for a year like, i would say, like one every season other than that. If you see me in the ponytail, that is just the blow dry without a flat iron, and when i do my french braids just to blow dry without a flat iron um, not to mention i had like the braids and the protective styles going. So my hair was hardly ever straightened in 2021, but when i do it, this is gon na last me two weeks, so i wash my hair. I blow dry it i put my products in, i straighten it and then i wrap it every night and unwrap it. Every day and this wrap last me literally like two like i said two to three weeks, if i could stress to the third week, i don't touch it. My flat iron does not touch my hair in the meantime, if you wrap your hair really good and if you use really good products, when you start your suppressed you're not going to have to straighten it anymore until after you wash it the next time. So that is what i do. This is not. This is definitely gon na. Last me, okay! Um. If you guys want to know what products i use for my silk press comment below and i will gladly show you, i might even make a video, because a couple people have asked me like hey: what's your hair routine, to get your hair straight, i did it On my own, so i have no problem: um dropping the video. Just let me know what you guys want and if you want it next tip, i think this is a kind of a no-brainer, especially um in the black community, but silk bonus. I have to say it: silk bonus, make sure you're protecting your hair every night. My auntie vivi is the one that taught me this. When i was a kid, my mom will always put me in a scarf and my auntie put me on silk um, because cotton will pull out your hair. So if you are wrapping your hair every night, you definitely want to protect it with a silk bonnet. Even when i have my two braids on my ponytail and i'm not it's not styled or cute or anything, i still put a bonnet to protect my hair, because cotton will pull um and if you can try to get some silk pillow cases. Just in case, you find this lips off, but you definitely want to protect your hair. Cotton is not good and it will pull your hair out. My next tip is that i oil my scalp every two to three days, so i only really oil it when i don't have a soap press, because if i do put the oil in it's gon na make it too heavy and then my silk press won't last. But when i have my braids, my ponytail, when my hair is only blow dry and not straighten, i use a oil and i oil, my scalp every two to three days and when i do it, i do use that scout massager to make sure it gets in There, my husband will be oiling. My hair, for me, he's become a pro at it. So if you can't do it get somebody to do it for you um, but it definitely helps if you think about like us as humans or plants, you know we need that. Consistent moisture to help us grow, you know you don't want your hair to dry out and get brittle and break so keep your keep your scalp moisturized i use like. I said: i've been really utilizing canvas beauty um, but there could be like coconut oil, moroccan oil. Avocado oil aloe vera, whatever you use, just make sure you keep your hair moisturized and if you want to know what i use comment below my very last tip is just to drink water. I drink water all the time. I'M not this big pro like where i'm drinking five six bottles a day, but i do drink at least at minimum two bottles a day. I definitely have water in the morning and i always have a bottle of water by my bedside at night. So keep you know just like a leaf a plant, a human just like we need water here, needs water. Your hair does grow from the inside, so you want to make sure your inside is good and i feel with a lot of juices and sugar so drink as much water as you can. That is going to promote healthy hair growth for you yeah. So those are my tips. I really do hope you guys enjoyed this video. Like i said i just recently put my hair on a routine where i'm following all these tips um after i got my hair cut this summer, so that was july. I keep saying this because, like i'm still thinking it's 2021 but it's 20 22.. So i got my last haircut in july and it is january 1st 2022 happy new year, but i've been like my hair has grown so much in the past six months, literally just by sticking to this routine. So i'm i'm so excited to see like where this is going to take me um, but if you guys need any more tips or even know product knowledge, please comment below don't forget to subscribe, hit that notification bell and, like i said, stay tuned. My avocado aloe vera coconut oil, deep conditioner video, which is coming immediately following after this. I love you guys subscribe, don't forget to tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend about infam, if you like, more content like this, where it's just me talking, then let us know and i will be sure, to put out more videos of y'all Kicking it with keith love, you guys happy new year, peace and blessings and i'll see you guys next time.
