Video Overview:

This video is an in depth review of everything I do to grow my hair long and strong and fix my hair from hard water damage, heat damage, and color damage. Because I have blonde hair, I bleach my hair a few times a year which is very damaging to the hair. I also live in an apartment with no water softener, so the hard water damages and dries out my hair leading to breakage and brassiness. I talk through all of the things I did on my hair growth journey to heal my hair damage like, strengthening and hydrating shampoos and conditioner sets (Pureology, Olaplex, Function of Beauty), lengthening and strengthening Hair Oils (The Ordinary Marula Oil & The Ordinary Moroccan Oil), hydrating and repairing Hair Masks (Kristen Ess Fragrance Free, Function of Beauty), and a lot of miscellaneous tips and tricks that helped protect my hair from split ends, breakage, and damage like microfiber towels, the wet brush, sleeping in scrunchies, hard water shower filters & sleeping on satin pillow cases. If you want to learn how to grow long hair quickly, this is the perfect video for you. Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner Reviews.

Hey guys welcome back to my channel for today's video I'm going to be talking through all of the ways that I grew my hair long and strong and helped to fix it from hard water damage, heat damage and bleach damage. So if you are currently on your hair growth journey, this is going to be the perfect video for you. Of course, I will talk through hair products like shampoo, conditioner leave-in things like that, but then also a lot of really miscellaneous random things that have made a huge difference to my hair that I wasn't doing a couple years ago. So, if you're interested in hearing what those hacks are and how they totally transformed my hair, you are in the right spot, we're gon na jump right into that before we do. If you could, please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and click on that notification. Ballot that would help me out a lot and mean a lot to me. Of course, I would love for you to join this small but growing family, and I upload three to five days a week for you guys so a lot of content for you guys. Every single week, if you're interested in just keeping up with my life behind the scenes, you want to see what I'm up to on a day-to-day basis, Instagram handle and Tech Talk. Handle are right here for you, alright, let's jump into it. If you're interested in this makeup look, I do have a tutorial up on this. Look already. It'S called well. I don't know exactly what it's called it's one of my bridal makeup tutorial series, Bridal makeup. Look book series: videos; okay, it's one of the videos that I have in my Bridal lookbook series. I'Ll link it below is what I'm trying to say. I'M obsessed with this look, I loved it. The first time I created it and then I kind of forgot about it and was like I should do that again. Oh, I love it so much so. Okay, we get it okay, so I want to go about this kind of in the way that I go about my week and everything that I do on a weekly basis daily basis to my hair, because I feel like that will be the most cohesive. As far as this video goes, so my number one tip for growing your hair longer and stronger is to wash your hair less. I'M sure you've heard this a million times over and over, but it is so true, especially if you live somewhere with hard water and you don't have water softener. Like me, hard water is incredibly damaging to the hair, so the best thing that we can do in that situation is to just wash our hair less and expose it to that hard water less. I do have a trick that I will talk about towards the end of this video to help with that, if you don't have water softener, but seriously ever since I stopped washing my hair every single day, my hair has really really improved, so it took me probably A solid six to seven months, at least, to transition from washing my hair daily to washing it only once a week. I was not able to jump there right away. Of course it just takes time. So, if you've heard of the term hair training, that is what that's referring to that process of washing your hair less over time and it just taking time for your hair to adapt to that and produce less oils. I'M somebody that thought I would never be able to go without washing my hair every single day. Even a couple years ago I was still washing my hair daily, so I was like there's no way my hair gets greasy way too fast. I have to wash it every single day and my hair was really damaged and a lot thinner than as a result of that. So what I started to do is just slowly ease my way up to washing it once a week. Of course, I could not jump into that right away. My hair would have been way too oily for that. So what i really suggest you do is start off by washing it every other day and then over time. In doing that, you will realize that your hair is not producing as much oils as it was when you first started to make that transition. At that point, sorry, my phone's buzzing at that point. That'S when you can move to washing your hair every couple days same thing there once you realize your hair is not getting quite as oily as it was, then you can add another day in between washes. So it probably took me a solid six to seven months until I could go a full week without washing my hair and even then, once I got to that point. My hair would still get greasy kind of quickly and it's just taken time since then to get to where I am now. So I can go a full week comfortably until I need to wash my hair, and I can probably go like four to five days now. Until I feel like, I need dry shampoo, which is insane before I felt like I needed it the day after I wash my hair or two days after so just be patient with it. Trust me, I know if you feel like that is just totally out of the question and you can never do that. It'S possible. However, I know for some people. They just feel kind of grossed out by that which I get like if you're sweating and stuff from workouts. I do have tips about that. So if you guys want like a dedicated hair training, video, let me know I can definitely do that, but I'm gon na talk through a lot of it here. But what I'm trying to say is, I do understand if washing once a week, just is not in the cards for you, you could at least just try to wash it less so again in every other day every few days, something so that your hair is not Getting stripped and often in the shower, are you finished okay, so when it has been almost a full week and it's day six so the day before I'm ready to wash my hair? What I will do is actually drench my hair and hair oils. These oils are from the ordinary one: is there Iraq or rotten, no they're organic cold-pressed, Moroccan argan oil and the other? Is there cold, pressed virgin marula oil? This is something that is more recent for me and my hair care routine, and I feel like it's already made a huge difference for me. I think I've been doing it for about three months now and I feel, like the health of my hair, has just improved. Even more so, both of these oils are just supposed to support healthy, hair and skin. I don't ever use these on my skin. I just used them on my hair and what I do once I get to day. Six, when I am ready to go to bed is, I will put the oils on the ponytail length of my hair so from like here down to my ends. Only I don't put it anywhere near my scalp or towards my roots, because that, of course will make that area look very greasy and oily and still the ends of your hair, going to look like an oil slick because you're putting oils on your hair. But I will do that and then I will just you know, toss my hair into a twist sleep on it and then in the morning I won't wash that out when I do wash my hair now, let's quickly talk through each of these oils and what they Do for the hair, so marula oil is composed of oleic acids, linoleic acids and flavonoids, because of that it's a great source of antioxidants, that's supposed to help to hydrate and restore our hair. I also just feel like both of these oils, because they are oi oils really help to make. My hair feel softer and look shinier as well, so we have kind of those initial benefits as far as just the overall appearance of our hair, once we wash it off but long-term, it definitely has helped my hair to strengthen. So it's able to grow longer and stronger and that Moroccan oil - I am sure so many of you have heard about, but maybe you didn't really know what the benefits were for hair and at least in this form, when it's just 100 % cold-pressed Moroccan oil. This is really similar to marula oil and that it's like acid and linoleic acids, and it's supposed to help to support hydration and just healthy, stronger hair. So I've been loving the combination of these two things. I highly recommend. Of course it's not something that you want to do daily once a week is perfect for me, and even if that feels like, maybe it's too much for you great. You could start off by doing that once a month or once every couple weeks, but I've been obsessed, so that is shower preparation. Now, let's talk about actual hair washing time, so what I will do when I'm in the shower is actually shampoo two times I have a tick tock showing you guys how I do that exactly so. I will link that in the description box below, if you want to watch that, but shampooing twice is critical. A must for me two reasons one I feel like it really helps to remove product build-up. That starts to accumulate on my scalp throughout the week. Of course, when I'm washing my hair less, that means that if I am applying dry shampoo, it's just going to continue to build up on my scalp things like that can definitely contribute to it genus on the scalp and flakiness. So it's really really important to make sure that you are fully removing that product build-up. You could also use a separate product, that's designed to help to remove build-up from the scalp right now I don't have one and I haven't really found a huge need for it, but now I'm curious, maybe I'll look for one and let you guys know as a Follow-Up, but right now what I do for that is shampoo twice. The other reason that I do that is, I feel like it really makes a difference and how quickly my hair starts to get Whaley after I wash it. So that is my number one. Hair training tip honestly, you guys have to try it if you try nothing else. Well, you should try a few things from this video, but trust me on this shampoo twice and you will be able to go longer between washes. Oh, my gosh, you guys have to let me know in the comments below once you try that, because you're gon na love, okay as far as shampoos, that I really love. So I do actually already have a video of talking through some of my favorite, shampoo and conditioner sets. I also talked through the brand in that video into my experience with it. So if you have been curious about that brand definitely go check out that video and I talked more about the brands that I do love there as well, but the one that is my long-term favorite that I've used the longest and have loved for the longest is Pure ology, pure ology, is an incredible brand and specifically their strength. Care line is, at my favorite not to be confused with their best blonde line, because that is purple shampoo. This is just their regular strength. Gear set it's supposed to be for a micro, scarred, slash, damaged, color treated hair, which is like I'll be above yes, and I have really loved at this shampoo. I also have the conditioner for a couple years at this point. It'S so good. It makes my hair feel incredibly smooth, very hydrated and has really been a huge contributing factor in my hair being able to grow longer and stronger. So you cannot go wrong with pure ology. I know that it's very pricey, but because I only wash my hair once a week, it doesn't become so pricy for me anymore, like these last me forever. So it's totally worth it second is olaplex. I started to use this this year actually for the first time, and I have really really really been loving this as well. So this is their number four bond maintenance, shampoo. You know number five on maintenance, conditioner, they're supposed to repair, strengthen and hydrate all hair types. I'Ve seen a few comments. I feel like that say that olaplex is a scam. It'S not really good, I'm not fully sure what that is about. I don't know because my experience has been very, very positive with this brand. I feel, like my hair, looks amazing after I shower when I use these, and I definitely get a lot of volume with the shampoo which is huge for me, because I have hair. That lie is pretty flat naturally, and especially as it grows longer. I feel like it just gets weighed down, so anything that gives me a lot of volume. I love I've had great hair results with these can't say anything bad. So for what it's worth, I would definitely recommend olaplex and I actually have been asked a lot. If I had to choose between olaplex and pure ology, what would I choose and IPL pick, but if you're forcing me to distinguish between the two, what I would say is olaplex will give you more volume and pure ology is going to make your hair feel more Conditioned and hydrated so if that helps, or maybe that just made it worse, good luck and then finally, I have to give an honorable mention to a function of beauty. I just recently posted a review on this brand and my first impression I also showed you guys application of these in the shower, so I got their shampoo conditioner, their hair mask leave-in treatment and hair serum, and I, of course, will be giving you guys updates at. I think, like the one month and three month marks will see just what I feel like makes sense, but stay tuned for updates there. I will put a card for that video here and link it below. If you want to just see my full in depth review on these products, I did look up every single ingredient on the ingredient labels of these products, so you will get the full scoop there, but so far I've been having a really good experience with these, and I'M really loving them in addition to olaplex and pure ology, and then after shampoo and conditioner. I always like to go in with a hair mask so that I can add extra hydration to my hair, because of course, when I'm only washing once a week, I am NOT conditioning the ends of my hair as much as I would like to so. I make sure to go in with a hair mask and leave that in for 5 to 10 minutes. So what I have been using right now is the function of beauty hair mask because I've been testing that out for you guys if you want an affordable option. This Cristen s, deep treatment masque, which is a fragrance free, is something I've actually really been enjoying as well. So that's a good option and then, in that other haircare video that I talked about, I did mention the Amika hair masque. So if you want to know about that, that's in there, but those are kind of the three masks that I have in my shower right now, I feel like masks or the one area where I haven't tried a ton of different options. So if you guys want me to do a video on hair masks and on my favorites there, let me know, because I can start to dabble in a few more for sure. So after I rinse that hair mask off from having it in for 5 to 10 minutes, I'm done with my hair washing routine. So once I get out of the shower, there are two well there's a few things that are really important for me to do. The first is to dry my hair with a microfiber towel. This is very important because a microfiber towel is much softer and gentler on the hair than a cotton towel. A cotton towel is going to be rougher, and it's also going to make your hair frizzy er than something like this. So I just got this on Amazon. It'S super affordable. I will have it linked below with all the other products that I talked about here today, and they also have different colors too. So I think I need to get a pink one, because pale pink is my favorite. So this is such a good, affordable option for a microfiber towel and then, when I am drying my hair with this microfiber towel, I will just squeeze out the ends like this gently. I don't rub back and forth on my hair because number one that's going to create frizz but number two that is going to promote breakage and when we're trying to grow our hair long and strong. We want to reduce breakage as much as we can so highly recommend and then, after that, I make sure to use some sort of leave-in conditioning spray on my hair. This one is my current favorite. It'S the pure ology color fanatic, multitasking, hair beautifier. I love this because it has so many different benefits. It says it helps to protect your hair against color fade it's a leave-in conditioner it detangles. It makes blow-drying easier. It strengthens your hair, helps to prevent split ends. It adds shine and silkiness. It'S seriously incredible. I love this stuff, oh my goodness, so I will spray that all over my hair and then I will go ahead and brush out my hair with my wet brush Pro um I'll flash. You guys, I need to get a new one. That'S kind of gross there's hair in there right doesn't that gon na gross you out? Okay, sorry, but a wet brush Pro is really similar to the original wet brush. But it has these extra. You know I'll insert a photo here, so you can see - and I don't have to show you my gross hair in that brush, but it essentially has those additional soft bristles in there. So it's even gentler on the hair and when I first transitioned to using a wet brush Pro from a regular brush, I was blown away at how much softer that was on my hair and just how much less it hurt to brush out my hair. After the shower, but I was even more blown away when I transitioned from wet brush to wet brush Pro, because I thought what brush was like the ultimate couldn't get better. This thing is so amazing, it's so soft and gentle on the hair. I don't feel like I'm ripping hair from my scalp when I brush it out, I highly recommend it again, less breakage key and while we are talking about the brush, something that's really important for me to do is to brush my hair daily. I think at first, at least for me when I was washing my hair once a week I thought like okay, then I don't need to brush it out until I am ready to wash it, which maybe that was just a me thinks that sounds kind of crazy. Even saying that, but I would go sometimes like four days without brushing my hair and my hair would start to get really snarly and start to kind of tangle together in the back, and then that, of course, would cause my hair to break. When I did try to brush it out, so i brush it daily to help with that, so that my hair is not getting tangled, but also it helps to loosen product build-up that I have on my scalp. So if you're, somebody that gets an itchy scalp from that product, build up using a brush to like really go in there and break up that product is something that at least has helped me a lot. Also. I was reading that brushing your hair, like on your scalp, helps to stimulate hair growth. I haven't looked into the actual research behind that, but just saying okay, so that is it for my complete shower routine. Before we move on to some other things, I need to mention this, so this is what I was talking about in the beginning of the video, the thing that has changed the game for me because again, I have really damaging hard water here. Where I live, I don't have a water softener, and this is a shower filter that helps to filter out some of those damaging elements in hard water. So things like chlorine, I believe I saw sulfur on the label and just harmful chemicals that contribute to hair dryness, which eventually causes your hair to break more easily and also elements that strip your hair color. So, if you're really struggling with brassiness to the hair or you're losing your color quickly, this has helped me a ton again. I got this on Amazon. It will be linked below, but what I do is replace this filter in my shower head once every couple months. I believe they recommend doing that just once every six months, but because how damaging my hard water is here I do that every couple months like I am crazy about it and it's super affordable. Actually so for me, I also got a new shower head by this same brand. I think it's called hotel spa, I'm pretty sure - and I just did that because I wanted a nicer showerhead and I think that one was closer to like at max $ 40. Maybe like 3540, you don't have to do that, though. So if you are able to screw off your existing shower head, you should be able to just put this right and the one that you already have, but I just felt like doing that to have a little bit of a nicer shower experience. So this is a must for me. It seriously has helped to transform my hair so much and even be like a year ago, year and a half ago. Maybe it was longer. I don't know, but not that long ago. I did not have this in my shower and I was able to tell a difference within the first couple months in the strength of my hair, it felt so much better. It was easier to brush through it was just more manageable. Everything was improved. So, even though it's not going to be as good as the real deal and having actual water, softener I'll take some form of an upgrade. If I can get one, you know so, Oh highly recommend also the other reason. I love this aside from it just helping my hair to be able to grow long is that it really helps to maintain my blonde hair color. So I have to bleach my hair blonde. Is such a curse like it's the worst, because unless I want my hair to fully just be this color all the way through like dirty dishwater, I have to maintain bleaching it. That'S the only way I can get blonde color to my hair is bleaching. It which is so damaging, of course, and a lot of the times the issue with bleach and blonde hair is that it starts to turn brassy and that yellowy orange e tint, which is not what anybody wants when they are bleaching their hair. So this has really helped to maintain my hair color. I do get asked quite a bit what I do as far as purple shampoos or treatments to help to maintain this color and prevent it from getting brassy. You guys, I don't have any purple shampoo or conditioner or anything, and I have not gotten my hair colored since January January, what that's actually insane thinking about that I mean I don't usually like to go this long, but I have not had a choice, obviously, because Of quarantine, but like normally, if I didn't have that showerhead, my hair would be straight-up orange right now. So just saying: okay, we are nearing the end here. I just have a couple more tips for you guys things that I feel like have really helped just improve. My hair game even further after doing all of this, the first is that I always make sure to use and sleep in velvet. Scrunchies velvet is going to be much softer and gentler on the hair. You can pull out then a smaller elastic hair tie like this. Obviously this is much tighter and it's smaller, so it's going to squeeze on your hair and cause breakage much easier than velvet. Would this I got to show you guys to set that these came in. Oh my gosh, this is like my dream. Look at all of these pink scrunchies they're, so amazing they're, so soft and they were so cheap from Amazon. Like are you kidding? Of course there would be ones below. I think this one's my favorite actually how cute and if pink is not your thing, I totally got it pale pink, is just my favorite ever they did have other color options as well. I mean how could I not that just screams me, so I freaking love those and if I'm ever tying up my hair, I always make sure to have it in a velvet scrunchie like this. Unless I am going to be going on a run or doing some form of high-intensity exercise, that involves a lot of jumping, because then, in that case, this is not going to hold my hair as securely as I would like it to so. What I do is use one of these hair ties. I just got this at Target. If I can find it on their site, I will definitely link it below, but it's much thicker and I mean you'll - see the immediate difference between something like this and this and I'm actually able to wrap it around my hair. Like a lot, it's great. It'S gentler on the hair than this, obviously not as gentle the velvet scrunchie. So when I can, I always use the velvet scrunchie. Otherwise this is really great for jumping exercise and then, while I am sleeping, this is something that I did not use to do either. Is now I always sleep with my hair tied back but loosely, and that's where I will use my velvet scrunchie. So what I will do is either put it in, like a list kind of mid to high ponytail really loose, or I will do some sort of braids or twists to my hair secured with this. The reason that I do that is because, if I just sleep with my hair free falling, it's much more likely to gets gnarly and tangly and start to matte together, especially if you're a really warm sleeper. Like me, I'm a very sweaty sleeper, like I will have my fan going when it's dead of winter and it's a polar vortex and it's negative 30, my fans going and diamond shorts. That'S how much of a warm sleeper. I am so because of that, if I'm getting some sweat, you know at the base of my neck when I'm sleeping and that's getting in my hair, my hair is much more likely to matte together which, at the end of the days I'm going to be something. I have to eventually try to detangle and is likely to break, and while we are talking about sleeping with my hair and a braid or twist, I do that when I actually spray this on my ends, which I start to do around day. Four, after washing my hair, the reason that I do that again is because my hair starts to gets gnarly. If I don't, it starts to feel really dry and get staticky so spraying. Some sort of leave-in conditioning spray or just using a leave-in conditioning product on the ends has really helped me to make sure that I am adding hydration to the hair reconditioning it and then just allowing it to last for that full weeks. So I will fully drench the ends of my hair again, starting like day four after I wash it with either this or a different leave-in spray. And then I will twist my hair or braid it secure it with this scrunchie and then sleep on it, and then that actually makes me get like really pretty waves too. So that is a trick. I have if you're looking for a no heat styling option. I love that and then again I'm just getting extra hydration and then the last tip I have that's also related to sleep has to do with your pillowcase. So this is a satin pillowcase again I got it from Amazon. There are a bunch of other color options and it's very affordable. It comes in a set slash pack of two, and this is crucial for me. Satin is going to be much gentler on the hair and skin than a regular cotton pillowcase or any other kind of cloth pillowcase. So not only is this going to help me to prevent hair breakage, while I sleep, but also it's going to be gentler on the skin. I was listening to a podcast where a dermatologist was talking about her clients and wrinkles that she said she can literally tell by looking at her clients which side of their face they sleep on, because their wrinkles will be more pronounced on that side of their face. So I was like you guys know me: I am taking all precautions possible, so I have a satin pillowcase for that. I have had questions about satin versus silk and that was reading. That silk can absorb your skin care more so than satin will, and I don't want my pillowcase to absorb my skin care. I want my skin to absorb it, so that is why I specifically chose satin. Of course, it's very soft feels very nice to sleep on also you. I secretly loves this because usually throughout the week I wake up before him and I will walk back into our room and he will be rolled over to my side of the bed. It'S sleeping on this, which is really cute, but, like he loves this too, so it really is comfortable and it's helping to protect our hair and skin alright. So that is everything I have to say. Those are all of my initial tips, at least for growing your hair, long and strong. I can definitely do a part two on different sorts of hair products. If you have a category that you want me to talk about specifically like hair masks or anything else, leave that in the comments below I would love to do that for you and you guys will have to. Let me know like: do you do some of these things or a lot of these things that new learnings for you? Are you going to start to implement certain things? If so, what are you gon na implement like? Let'S, just let's chat in the comments below I love connecting with you guys, so that's everything again. If there's anything else, you would like to see for me on this channel next leave that below otherwise. My next video will be up in a few days, and until then I hope you have a few days.

Rayhana Shuva: I actually grew my hair long and donated 18 inches of it to a company that makes wigs for children with cancer. She is absolutely right. Not shampooing your hair really does help increase the length of your hair. But because I am a hijabi (muslim woman who covers her hair for modesty), it was easier for me to train my hair since nobody sees my hair outside. But for the women who dont cover their hair can wear a wig while training their hair. I hope the tip helps.

chinnychinchin: For years I avoided Olaplex bc the cost scared me and I’ve always believed in more natural haircare. But ever since I’ve used bleach nothing has helped me maintain and/or grow my hair like Olaplex has. It’s a game changer.

M: Tip from when I went to dermatologist for the problem with the oily hair: wash your hair for 2 weeks straight with only water everyday, massage your scalp gently and then dry it and massage your scalp with a towel (dont use a normal towel cause its very damaging, use a soft towel or even paper towels), the massaging will absorb all the sebuum and oils. During this 2 weeks dont use nothing on your hair other than water (and the towels ofc). My hair was getting greasy really quick and after this treatment it completely changed and i could wash my hair once a week without problems

Taylor Cecil: I'm definitely one of those people who feel like it would be impossible to not wash my hair daily, so hearing your story makes me feel encouraged to try at least going every other day. I toss and turn in my sleep and get huge knots in my hair so I always feel like I have to keep it much shorter, I tried wearing hair ties at first, and it made my scalp go numb so maybe scrunchies won't do that. Thanks so much for this video! It was extremely helpful. :)

Gabrielle Nicole: Yes, please do a hair training video with tips on how to extend your hair between washes off besides just dry shampoo! I’m currently in the process of working on that and I’m one that has extremely oily skin and never thought I could go a day without washing. I used to be oily by the end of the day when washing it first thing in the morning and now I’m good going every two or three days! Quarantine has been the perfect time to train hair

Peyton Hennessy: I’m on the same boat as you. I went from brown to blonde and experienced so much breakage!! Everything you said in this video are things that I have been doing for a while now and I have one suggestion. Get yourself a satin haircap to sleep in at night time! I used to do buns with scrunchies and I would still have to brush my hair in the morning because it tangled. With the hair cap, I brush my hair before I put it on and wake up and it feels EXACTLY the same, no tangles at all!! Really changed the game and it’s super comfortable. Also a great hair mask with all natural ingredients is Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque w/ Sea Kelp and Argan Oil

Karly Robinson: I dyed my hair extremely light for my wedding back in October & I have been trying to get it stronger & healthier on top of attempting to get some length. My mother-in-law trims it for me , not as often as I’d like but I’m going to have her for it every 4-6 weeks. My natural color/growth is about mid way down my hair. The length is to my bra strap, so I’m hoping these tips will help with my hair

Natalie Mosko: Thank you for bringing up the fact that silk is more absorbent than satin! A lot of people seem to think silk is better because it's more expensive. All it does is absorb oils and moisturizing products from our skin and hair. I love my satin pillowcase.

Sherri Herrera: I'm binge watching your videos here as I have been diagnosed with trichorrhexis nedosa. I've been struggling with it for about 2 years now and eager to find something that will help. I'm curious if you have ever come across anyone who has had that and was able to use some of your hair tips to help.

Jesse Estrada: I tried these products for the first time I was able to order all of the products except the Opalex due to it being sold out AND OMG SERIOUSLY the pureoloy shampoo and conditioner are amazing! I noticed a difference on my hair on the first use! I am definitely a believer in this recommendation ♥️ thank you all this incredible information! Xoxo

Alisha Bonk: Sip thankful for these tips! After 1 year of being in our new home with hard water, my hair is in terrible condition. So broken, so thin, etc... Can't wait to try some of your suggestions. I have curly hair though, so going to have to do a couple things differently.

Violet Huston: I love that you shampoo twice and only once a week. I do that too! That has been my routine for a couple years now.

Kara Putter: I’m a bit late :) but loved this, thank you. I think I have very similar hair to you so i think this should help. I have been training my hair for years but haven’t managed to go more than 3 days and that’s mainly because my scalp gets really uncomfortable by day 3. Do you maybe have any more scalp care tips?

Jo Reedo: I’ve watched several videos related to hair care and growing your hair after its been damaged. This is by far the most informative one I’ve seen. Thank you

Witchothewood: Thanks so much for this! I have shorter hair (A little longer than chin length) that I'm planning to grow out and I have the same issues you do/did- I couldn't go without washing my hair every day (now I am trying every 3 days, which is easier now that I'm working from home), and my hair used to get all snarly and I'd even get tiny dreadlocks on the back hairline because my hair is SUPER curly there. So I just cut it all off, because I thought I couldn't have long hair because it always looked thin and scraggly at the ends. Hopefully these things will help, I especially like the pillow case and shower head tips! Also, it's kind of funny that as I watched this, I am sitting here with my ends drenched in a homemade oil (jojoba, coconut and a couple of essential oils)!

Savannah Stormo: Love how in depth you are to every ingredient and benefit to everything. Love your olaplex No0 & No3 video, just started using those products and No4 & 5 last week:)

tiffany v: I have just found your channel and I love it! I think all your advice sounds great and I am going to try a lot of the tips. I have been looking for a shampoo and conditioner for a long time and I am going to purchase the Purology set soon and see how that goes! I am also looking into the satin pillow cases and the multi task leave in spray as well. :)

Julie’s Journey!: When I was in treatment for throat cancer. I stopped brushing my hair Bc I was loosing it (chemo) so I started putting in a loose bun. It helped me keep most my hair. I lost all the bottom but it’s grown back. Vitamins helps too.

Ameena S: These tips are amazing! My hair is curly, very dry and I also have a dry scalp that rarely gets oily unless I play tennis throughout the week. I was just wondering do you think I should coat all my hair and my entire scalp with the oils before sleeping? Just because my scalp really needs extra moisture. Love your channel btw

Angela Waldman: Hi Abbey. I love your videos - you are so beautiful and well spoken. I also feel like you are so genuine and I appreciate your honest reviews. I would love to see photos of your hair how it used to look and how far you have come in your hair journey. Mine is so horribly damaged from all over bleach. I've had to cut it above my shoulders and into short layers to remove all the breakage and damage. I've also had to go much darker which, for a girl who was platinum blonde, is hard to take - I hate how it looks right now but I know it will heal. Since watching one of your previous videos I have started using Pureology shampoos and conditioner. I am using the hydrate one and the blonde one for when I need to tone it a little. I have already seen a big difference in my hair, much softer and stronger. I live in South Florida where it is always hot and humid and I'm quite active and sweat so much so I do need wash my hair twice a week. I have found that the Moroccan Oil Cleansing Conditioner has been great for that in between wash. I just use that and condition and then use a leave-in and let it air dry. Then I do a true wash on the weekend. I can't wait to try the hair oils on the night before that wash. I think that will really help. Also, I swear by the satin pillowcases - they are awesome!

Caylee: GIRL. next time you get the orange/yellow damage to your hair from hardwater, use the crystal clarifying treatment packettes from Ion. LITERALLY the only product that's every removed it from my hair. I destroyed my hair with bleach, and it was still no match for the hard water. I used four packets, and left them on for half an hour, and it removed 90% of the orange buildup.

Mliz 23: Just had to say a BIG thank you - I did the double shampoo tip and OMG SUCH a difference already!! Thank you thank you thank you!!

Tanya Pelli: Hi! i’ve seen your videos regarding marula oil use from the ordinary and i’ve incorporated it into my hair routine after i apply heat. Is it safe to use on damp hair prior to heat styling? Or would that be damaging. love your videos! the skin care ones have helped me so much!

Kaitlyn Newman: I have experience with Olaplex 3 but not 4 or 5... good to see you love them! Have you tried any protein masks, like Shea Moisture's yogurt & manuka honey one? I think you may like it since you highlight it! I have curly, highlighted hair, but my hair feels so great after (using it like every other week)!

Carly Robinson: Unite Weekender clarifying shampoo is awesome! I love it. I only wash once a week and I use the weekender followed by Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. Also Olaplex #3 hair mask is AMAZING, I use it as an overnight hair mask every other week before I wash. I’m interested in trying the ordinary oils for the weeks I don’t use the Olaplex mask.

Britney Weber: New subscriber here! I just turned 28 and have been experiencing hair thinning/loss -- so I LOVED this video and will definitely been purchasing some of the products you mentioned. Do you get your hair wet in the shower on the days you do not wash? I assume so because of the shower filter you mentioned, but just wanted to check! I feel like people go back and forth about whether the hair should be wet on non-washing days. Thank you, Abbey!!

Casey Wilson: Thank you for all these great tips...I’ve always admired your beautiful hair! This is kinda random, but I think it would be super fun to see a video of you giving a “home tour” and show your home decor (plus where you’ve gotten some of your favorite things) and of course your beauty product setup. Also...I miss your monthly favorites videos! ❤️

jackie_jrml79: This is so true. During this pandemic we’ve been home working and I’ve trained my hair to only need 1x week washings. I normally do 2x week (Sun/Wed.) I don’t use any products and air dry only. At first I wash Sun and by mid/end week scalp was gross and oily and I would have gross flakes after washing the following Sunday. I was tempted to wash mid week but I held off. A few weeks later I noticed less oil production and less flakes after rewashing. It’s working! My hair is so thick and long. But I might go back to 2x week once go back to work don’t know yet.

Keri Hatgirl: I grew my hair from collarbone length to past my elbows. It took a long time, but I cut out using heat appliances on my hair and stopped going to the salon. My guy got me a wide tooth comb, and I use that to comb out my hair after a shower, I don’t use a brush on my wet hair as that causes breakage. I use the same type of towel as you, I have a yellow and aqua color one. The other thing that helped keep my hair in good shape was my guy gave me micro trims every ten weeks. He did the full sectioning and let my hair down in 1/2” increments to trim each layer to remove split/damaged ends to reduce breakage. The amount that he took off was barely noticeable. He was fully supportive of my long hair journey, unlike the scissor happy stylists that just want to cut. A friend of mine who is a hairdresser stopped over to visit when I was getting my ends trimmed and watched intently. She commented that he wasn’t taking off very much and that my hair is so thick that it needs to be thinned out. I was very happy that it was my guy doing my hair and not my friend the hairdresser. My guy would never use a razor or thinning shears on my hair. Here is how he does my trims. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7ixwCfku3fY&t=63s I use olive and argan oils on my hair and I wear my hair in different braids. I have my hubby give me French, Dutch, fishtail, side, wraparound, three and four strand braids. I get compliments on my hair in the different braids and people ask how I do them. So it does take time and effort to grow long, beautiful hair, but I am definitely a long haired lady and I have no plans to ever cut my hair off, and If I ever did, my guy would talk me down from it rather than grab the shears and cut it all off.

Nikki Y.: Yay!!! Love! It’s like you read my mind haha I’m on my hair journey too!

Katie Eileen: I live in Scotland and all our water comes from the mountain run off (obv treated and filtered through). The water is so natural and clean, no chemicals, and my hair literally flows like silk after washing it!! When I stay over night in the city and use the water there, I instantly recognised the difference. Hair feels more like straw after cleaning on hard water. Ew.

Sanjana Rathi: Team Water Damaged ( which leads to hairfall, dryness, reduce the quality of hair) 1. I use filtered water 2. Fermentation of rice water for 36 hours 3. Use it as a rinse after washing my hair with shampoo or water. 4. Rinsing my hair with rice water has made a drastic change.

Lisa Rakic: A shower filter and Malibu C Hard Water Wellness packets made a huge difference for me. My hair is curly, but my curls were almost non-existent over time and they had no shine or body. The culprit was mineral buildup over a long period of time. Now, they're springy and shiny.

Ayshe Dzhalil: I started following your advice and definitely learning so much from you!!! Bought the Pureology shampoos and the leave-in conditioner and have to say my blonde hair is so much softer. Thank you so so much <3 Now after watching this just ordered the satin pillowcase and since I am living in the UK I am trying to find good water shower filter from the UK amazon.

jda58tex: I am 61 and from the South. So, I went to Charm School (yes, yes I did - I still have the book!). We were taught to lather twice, so that is what I have always done. I have never washed my hair everyday. For many years, I washed every couple of days, and for the past decade or more, I've been washing once a week. Sometimes I will wash twice a week, usually in the summer when it's very hot. Second day hair are always my best hair days! I also do a weekly hair mask. Sunday is my self care day and I will put it on early in the day, put on a shower cap, and wrap it in a warm towel. At a minimum I leave on for 30 minutes, but I try to leave it on for several hours. I make my own masks, mixing different oils depending on what my hair needs. Recently, I started doing a monthly scalp scrub. It has made a huge difference in the overall health of my scalp and hair. Lastly, as part of my nightly routine, I give myself a 5 minute scalp massage. I somethings use hair growth serums, but mostly it's just a "dry" massage.

hellsbails: The olaplex shampoo & conditioner are pricey, but so worth it. You need such a small amount & a little goes a long way! I’ve also noticed WAY less fall out compared to other shampoos.

Ana S: I tried for so many years to extend my hair washing routine from every other day to three days...and I spent years walking around with greesy hair and feeling dirty. When you have thin hair, you need to wash it more. Your body produces the same amount of oil every day no matter what. If not washing your hair helps to have healthy hair, why then people with greesy skin just don't stop washing their face to get rid of akne? If doesn't work. Use mild shampoo and wash your hair, it will look better.

Annie Doyle: Thank you for the helpful video! Ordered the Pureology you recommend & cant wait to use it. You mention dry shampoo... what’s your go-to??? How often do you use it? Thank you!

Stevie Rae Maier: This is a great video. Have you tried the Verb Hydrating mask? It’s one of my favorites because it’s insanely moisturizing and smells incredible. It sounds like we have really similar hair types, too. Kevin Murphy also makes some incredible hair products. Thank you for sharing!

Wishes: OMG, this was a fabulous video Abbey. I'm gonna share it with my daughter ASAP! Thanks for all the great info. Take care dearest.

robitai525b: I’ve literally been doing all of this for two years and have seen no difference in my hair. I feel so discouraged because I have invested so much time and money into trying to have long strong hair. I will always have thin fine hair that doesn’t grow very long. So much of hair is just genetics.

Elizabeth Bumgarner: The last 2 times I've had my hair bleached. I've noticed an extreme amount of dryness and some breakage. What products should I use to make it better? Help!!!

Meaghan: For the conditioner spray that you like to use on your ends throughout the week for moisture, do you have any less expensive ones or is the Purology spray worth it? I’m trying to grow my hair out strong again and you’ve been so helpful!

yara becerra: I would love to hear more about how you got your into a routine of not beeing washed that often. Also, what would you recommend for hair gel, mousse, or spray to keep your hair more manageable? I seem to suffer with a lot of frizz.

Laura Lyons: Hey Abbey, another great informative video. Thank you. I have an issue with hair loss/breakage. When I wash my hair sometimes ill have to unplug the drain twice. The only shampoo etc I've found works is the Kerastase Resistance Bain de Force. Im out of that so have ordered Kerastase Génesis Bain Champú, not sure if its the same. Anyways, I would love a bit of volume, are their any after wash products i could use that doesn’t make hair sticky, preferably drug store? Kerastase is expensive. Also a tip i heard & it works is apply dry shampoo to freshly washed dry hair at roots so it captures the oil. Instead of when the oil is already there coz the dry shampoo turns ur hair white and weights it down.

Brooke Santourian: Everyone who has bleached blonde hair needs to try the Kerastasé Resistance hair mask in the light blue packaging! As someone with bleached silver hair, it has completely changed the life of my hair! That and the olaplex #3 pre-shampoo treatment are the best combo ever!! I recently also started using the olaplex bonding oil and I can already see a difference using it almost every day for a few weeks!

Michelle Clarke: Now I want those pink scrunches I loved Kristin Ess products until I found out they have formaldehyde in their ingredients. I do love olaplex! And I’m going to look into function of beauty ! Thank you !!

PamelaCrockett: Hi Abbey! I love your videos about hair care and hair products. They are the best on YouTube. Keep ‘em coming! Thank you for all of the recommendations and advice!

Elizabeth Bagley: I ruined my hair with bleach and dye. I went from butt length hair to shoulder length that wouldn’t grow. The thing that saved my hair was drowning my hair in Argan oil then putting it up in protective styles. Three years later and my hair is so freaking soft and back to my tail bone it’s a miracle oil. But real argan oil

Mandy: I know this is an old video, but for anyone else who watches this 18 months later and wonders: Satin is a weave style while silk is a fiber. So you can have satin in a bunch of different materials (i.e. silk blends, polyester, nylon, etc). I think since silk is a natural material it is more absorbent than some synthetic materials, so satin fabrics made with those synthetic materials will be less absorbent than satin made with silk. I don't know that it's enough to make a noticeable difference since silk already is much less absorbent than something like cotton (silk is moisture-wicking and temperature regulating). I find silk to be more breathable than satin made with synthetic material. Silk is also hypoallergenic and antimicrobial. Satin made with synthetic material is often much cheaper than silk and you don't have to worry about getting synthetic material satin falsely advertised as silk. Silk also crinkles and wrinkles easier than synthetic material satin, so there are definitely pros and cons for both. I use a silk pillowcase and a synthetic material satin bonnet (BUT, if it's not double lined, make sure you wear it inside out if you go satin. Satin will have a shiny side and a dull side, it's the shiny side you want touching your hair but they always make synthetic material satin with the dull side on the inside for aesthetics). I toss and turn so much at night that I also wear my hair in a loose braid (secured with a silk scrunchie) and then tucked up in my bonnet Often times my bonnet falls off at night from my movements, and if my hair is just loose in the bonnet it will become so knotted the times my bonnet falls off.

Tara Schumacher: Hi! I just ordered the olaplex 3 and the two ordinary oils you recommended in the video. Should I use them all together overnight before I wash my hair or should I switch every other week doing olaplex 3 one week and the ordinary oils the next?

PLUME 1: I can’t wait to watch this-so glad you are doing hair videos that involve scalp issues & hair loss and shampoos that might help.

Starlight Powder: Hi, wonderful video! But what do you think about silicones? In Purology and Olaplex there are silicons inside- not very good for your hair because they dry it out from the inside only making it look nicely from the outside.

JM: I’m soooo happy I found your channel! I cannot express how much your videos have helped me with both skincare and now hair growth! and you’re make up is always so beautiful

LolaK Lloyd: You just pretty much answered my questions Thanks for the extra tips on water filters and hair towels. Never thought of things like that- beautiful hair!

ChelsieSmiles: Can we talk about how you keep thickness? Not sure if you mentioned this being I'm going to come back to watch the entire video but I used to have thicker hair and it's thinned out so much due to stress and I'm stressing about that which makes it worse ! Any pointers would be much appreciated

Nehaya Eltiti: OMG!! You’re the best!! I have been doing some of the tips and tricks you mentioned, but I seriously loved everything and how honest you are! Sending much love your way!

ALIX TSAI: Totally going to watch this again and take notes. Then buying everything on amazon. I’m trying to grow out my hair ❤️❤️❤️ thanks for this great video your hair looks amazing. Really useful tips

Portia Franklin: Just bought that filter! I am experiencing brassy color and dryness we have hard water never thought of this! Thank you so much!! Blessings to your channel!!

Kenia Downing: I moved to an apartment and suddenly my platinum hair became dry, brittle, flat, greasy and stringy at the roots, and it started coming out. Had water testers come out and the water wasn't even that hard....tested for other things and found out it could be chloramine that is added to some water to purify/sanitize it. Whatever it is, it has ruined my hair. Water filters like aquasana and watersticks water softener doesn't work. Anyone else have an experience like this? It also made my hair impossible to take toner. It would fade out within a few days and just get greasy. :(

Hello Hi: I have been using the crisan oil for a few months and it’s the best .Put it all over your hair and brush it and put it in a bun.It makes incredible shine, takes off frizz, and makes it grow.It has 55 amazing oils so use it ,you will thank me for it.Tip:use a lot and use it overnight or 1 hour .I normally use it in 2 hours .Tell me your expirience!!

Summer Sadie: Thank you for all your wonderful tips Abbey! I use pureology hydrate conditioner once or twice a week. The label says "Superfood Hydrate / Superfood Treatment with avocado oil & coconut oil". Would this be considered a masque or just a conditioner? I find it makes my hair soft and healthy but does weigh down my hair if I use it too often.

Jen M: Thankyou so much for this!!! I have a ton of health issues that reflect in my hair and i have been needing more ammo to make it healthy and be able to grow it out again, even tho I am seriously thinking about letting it go grey, and I don't know if grey, thin/fine, and long will go well together, but we'll see. If you have tips on thickening the hair I'd love those, as well as totally needing you to reseach hair masks for me (lol). I do like hair masks but just never know the right ones. thankyou so much for all this info and many blessings!!

Jess H: Oh my gosh it's the same for me, our water is so hard here! My hair has always been super dry - I find my ends are definitely the driest so I think I need to invest in some hair oils. Do the oils stain your pillowcases? I have slept with my hair up for years (mostly because I can't deal with it getting in the way lol) and was recently gifted a Slip Silk Scrunchie which is so luxurious, however given the hefty price tag I will definitely check out those velvet scrunchies :)

Christina Bibikova: I used to try washing my hair every 3 days and work my way up to a week, but my hair started smelling gross at the third day. My boyfriend was very sweet about it and supporting but it came a day where he just had to say "hey, your hair smells bad" and I felt soo embarrassed... he explained it's unrealistic to want to wash it once a week since I live in a tropical, humid climate and I work out on the daily.. also there's pollution, lots of wind and sand around and I even have to shower everytime I get home or else I feel sticky. It's different than living in the US and having a dry climate and clean streets anyone else have this problem? I wash it every other day

Cara Frey: Shampooing twice is amazing, I also use an exfoliating mask before my washes and I just ordered a hard water filter today!

Constance Turner: Just found your channel but I weirdly recently started washing with shampoo twice and it has stretched the time out between washes for me too!

Catalina Pellicer: Great video! Thanks for the recommendations. I have a recommendation for you as well: the innisfree camellia oil (from yesstyle) is the best product for thin hair I have ever seen. Greetings from Chile!

KatherineJoanna: Cowashing helped me get an extra day out of my hair, so I could wash it every other day instead of every day. But my seborrheic dermatitis hates it! However, "training" my hair with shampoo has really not worked and only makes my hair greasy the day after washing it, despite years of effort.

Nina K.: Such a helpful video! Olaplex saved my hair situation for sure. And I am loving it so much that I am even afraid to try anything else. I use Olaplex and Redken.

Susan B: New subscriber here. Great hair tips. I have the same pillowcases . I already do most of the things you do for your hair. Very knowledgeable, great content

Chrissie Dunlap: I recently bought a Mason Pearson brush. I feel this is a game changer. They are handmade in England and have been around for 130 years. They are very pricey! Mine is a combination of boar bristle and a nylon bristle that’s very gentle to the hair. I have so much less hair in this brush than I used to have in my old boar bristle brush. Have you heard of this brand?

Trendy Health: _There are_ *different oils* _that can help promote hair growth and thickness;_ _These include_ *castor oil, jojoba oil, and olive oil.*

Jessica Nemitz: My hair is in a state that is devastating to me and I don’t even want to be seen in public, so I went on a search for help, and here I found it. I recently bought the satin pillows because I read about that somewhere else about a week and a half ago. I also only shampoo once a week and that has been going on for years. However, a question about washing... even though I only shampoo once a week, I condition 2-3 times per week. Is that bad? I feel it has kept my hair from getting greasy in between shampoos, but I am open to trying not to condition more than once a week either, unless that isn’t a bad thing. And what about just getting hair wet... is that bad, too?

Hannah Lee: Thank you for this video! Your hair is gorgeous, all your hard work paid off

Caitlin Cahoon: just binged watched literally ALL your videos and im a huuuuuge fan. Thanks for sharing! love your videos... they're so inspiring!!! <3

C C: I use a bamboo comb and ordered the brush pro u mentioned. I also get tangles but I barely ever brush my fine, thin, low density, porous hair. Thanks for helping me figure that out.

annette orlando: Just started following you abs obsessed with all your advice !!! Thank you :)

Cynthia: I have struggled with dry and damaged hair for years due to being an outdoor kind of girl and thyroid issues. I have been sold (what feels like) every product under the sun for dry and damaged hair. I was about to give up and cut it all off when I stumbled upon your video. Along with collagen peptides, I just started using many of the products in this video and I can already tell a difference! Amazing! My hair feels so soft and silky! It hasn't felt this good since I was a kid! I am so excited to see how much my hair will improve over time. Thank you Abbey Yung for doing such a great video!

Cristina Antoniuc: The best thing ever is when a woman knows how to take care of herself. She didn't have to spend hundreds of dollars to make herself feel beautiful. Beautify can be done at home. I especially love the simplicity well nurturing look.

Train With Jo: Also i got those exact same pillow cases (love them) , and quarantine has made it easier to not shower every day hahaha will start oiling the ends of my hair before wash day!

Elizabeth Giffin St John: RE: Hard water-I have very hard water and no softener in my rental unit. I also only wash my hair a few times a week, but a few years ago I began using distilled water to wash my hair now. I will buy large jugs of distilled water once a week from the grocery store and it has made a huge difference with my hair. I will never wash my hair with tap water ever again.

Alifiyah H: My hair is very oily and I tried using Olaplex but I really felt like it weighed my hair down and made it oily faster, like within 24 hours. Did you have to use it for a longer time for your hair to adjust?

Christine Martinez: Yes affordable hair care tips! I just bought the satin pillow cases! Bye bye pillow crease lines on my face!

Sara Eclipse: I love Pureology too! I just recently got a satin pillowcase and I agree - it is a game changer!

Julianna Elizondo: Olaplex is an amazing product! I've tried other shampoos and conditioner but always come back to these two staples! I like the silver shampoos but they do dry your hair. I did just get Function of Beauty and the ingredient with the silicone made my hair silky but it got oily fast and it felt like it was sticky when I shampooed with my Olaplex after using it the first time. It felt awful. I sent for another shampoo and conditioner without the silicone and that might be better, but we will see. Thank you for your post on these products and your hair is beautiful!

Nadia Dakroub: Hi Abbey, I followed the link in your description for the Wet Brush PRO however, when the item arrived it was not the PRO, but the Original. I think Amazon changed it. Just wanted you to know and maybe you can link the right one so I can repurchase. Thank you.

Candace Sanchez: As a hair dresser I can promise you if one persons hair grows healthy it’s not necessarily the products they are using! If your hormone levels and genetics are different than that persons than your experience will not be the same! Biotin and coconut oil on damaged ends! And make sure you are having blood work done to check ur hormone levels! You do not want to use drug store products mainly bc they can be tampered with and some have ingredients that you don’t want in your hair hence the reason they didn’t make it to a professional level...when it comes to shampoo and conditioner I do love pureology and so do all my clients but results may not be the same for everyone

Evie Rasing: Do you have any pictures where you can see how damaged your hair was before doing all these things? I just scrolled through your Instagram and it looks like your hair has always looked this good haha

Jessica Hong: Great video! I don't know if you watch Brad Mondo here on YouTube, but in one of his videos he mentions the Mason Pearson brush (nylon and boar bristle) and I decided to splurge and get it. I also have fine hair that gets oily fast and it's already making a HUGE difference. I would highly recommend.

Tina Beckett: Olaplex took me from dark brown hair to getting platinum highlights , no damage, in fact hair was shinier after bleaching ! It is the real deal

J.Marian Paguirigan: Pink team!!! Ps. I love you videos. No BS, based on science, and you’re funny. Kudos! ✨

Erin Lee: Did you ever find a hard water shampoo that helped a little? I'm looking for chelating maintenance once (once every few weeks) since we have hard water and no water softener (yet). I'm seeing Ion (sally beauty), Malibu, Joico, Paul Mitchell, and Kenda clarifying shampoos recommend most...

Donna O'Kane: Hello! Just found your videos looking for a new shampoo. Went to your instagram and saw you're a UW grad. Me too! I was interested in your videos because of your mention of hard water! As I'm sure you know madison water is rough. Thanks for the content!

BLMH29 BLMH29: I have never had great hair, coupled with the fact that I bleach it and it is fine and thin. In my experience with olaplex, it made my hair break. If you look at the reviews on Sephora, a lot of people with my hair type had this issue. However, so many get great results!! I wish that was me!! I was curious if you take any supplements like biotin and or collagen? If so, What brands work for you? Thanks so much! Your hair is gorgeous!

Katya Cessaro: Oh my gosh, you video was so helpful, AND it was not boring, I was able to sit through the whole thing! So nice and helpful! Thank you!

Juanita J: I back up these tips (the ones I do, will start using the oils on my ends night before my wash + try Pureology + the shower filter) especially after a very bad situation using a particular brand of shampoo that made my hair fall out (not just break, actually fall out as could see roots...[name is people's usually least favorite day of the week, please don't but it]) and I started the silk pillow & satin scrunchy more recently definitely helped my damaged hair while patiently growing it back. I've also been taking supplements but like all things, supplements may not give results for everyone (spirulina, fish oil, collagen)

Heidi Groenewald: Thank you! Do you switch between Pureology and Olaplex sets? I just bleached my hair and I know it needs protein, but it’s dry too.

Lisa: Malibu C Un-Do-Goo is a really great shampoo. Unfortunately Pureology was bought out by L’Oréal years ago ... they took the once great product & ruined it by adding water & alcohol. Still the same price for less product.

Just because: Olaplex is not a scam, but it seems to make hair process more slowly so lightening takes longer. The leave in treatments should be used as instructed (don’t leave in longer) or it could make it nearly impossible to get to the lightest blonde.
