Men's Curly Hair Routine | How To Make Hair Curly | Afro to Curly

Afro to Curly Hair Big Transformation. My cousin usually wears his hair as an afro but he wanted to do something different and see if he could get his hair as curly as mine. So together we filmed this men's curly hair tutorial for afro textured hair to curly hair. This is a men's curly hair routine that would only be done once a week (or however long your hair will last) this is not a routine that you would have to do everyday. These types of men's tutorials are basically just to help educate and help the many black men out there who want to know what their hair routine should look like.

This is my cousin Chris Chris. What is your current routine like kindly? What is a routine okay, hello, hello and welcome back to my channel, so I thought I bring to you all a transformation videos and you can see how I turn this into curls. I already shampoo his hair off-camera. The lighting was tweaking when I was trying to film that part, but now you'll see me following up with the conditioner. I know in the previous video. You all saw me using the Denman brush to detangle my brother's hair, but since my cousin has a lot more hair and it's much more tangled, I'm using this wide toothed comb, because this has wider teeth, making it easier for the comb to just glide through the Tangles and as I mentioned before, detangling is the most important step, so curly, hair and it'll probably take you the longest and it's the most dreadful step of them all, but you'll see why it's so important as we get closer to the end of the video. So when you're here it's completely detangling, you should be able to just easily glide your comb through the hair from the top to the bottom, without catching any snags. So then, after that, I'm just adding a little more conditioner to his hair and then we're just gon na. Let it sit for about five minutes before we rinse it out and we're not in the conditioner sit just because we want this hair to soak up as much conditioner as it can, because it's gon na bring back, moisture and soften it back up. So after shampooing and conditioning we're gon na follow up with the leave-in conditioner and then evenly distributed throughout his hair, I'm gon na list all the products in the description box below, but the idea of a leave-in conditioner is similar to the idea of lotion. The same way you put lotion on after you get out the shower so that your skin doesn't dry out. You want to put in leave-in conditioner so that your hair stays moisturize throughout the week and it doesn't dry it back out, and I didn't show you guys the product on camera, but I'm gon na insert a picture of what this product looks like after you apply The leave-in conditioner, the last thing that you want to do is apply gel. The gel we're using is eco styler gel and it's a very thick and heavy gel, so you'll be able to help your curls form by comping all the loose strands together and then holding them in place throughout the drying process. As you can see, the job for him is what's putting this whole look together, so the tricks are getting. Your curls to clump together, is to rub the gel in your hands and then use your hands as a comb and rake your fingers through your hair. The natural pressure between your fingers will cause the curls to clump together, I'm gon na slow it down for you. So that you guys could see easier what I'm doing? You also want to make sure that you take small sections of your hair to do this, as you can see, I'm not grabbing a whole entire half with his hair, I'm just picking up small sections and then I'm raking the product through then I'll grab. Another small section and then I do the same now he regularly washes his hair, but he never detangles it. So when I finally detangling it, there was so much shed hair trapped inside of his fro and I'm gon na insert a clip. So you guys could see what it looked like, but this is why it's important that you get out those shed hairs and by the way, if you're, all wondering where I got this beat from Chris - is a music artist. He makes conscious music and he makes beats so if you're, all looking for someone to make you a beat or if you're, just looking to listen to good music, then I'll leave his youtube and his instagram below in the description box. So you should definitely check them out in the show them some love. But after you do that to the whole head you're done, you could let it air-dry. As you all know, the product will dry clear, but for the sake of this video, I'm just gon na blow dry, because I don't have the time to wait for his hair to air dry and we're done and just for the record. We like the way that his hair looks in the before clip, hence why he wears his hair, like that. We'Re just doing this for something different, because we want to so thanks for watching. If you guys, like this video, give it a thumbs up, don't forget to leave a comment down below hit the subscribe button and I'll see you guys in another video

Prince Mays: "We like the way his hair looks in the before clip..." is a major statement!!

xo, amaré: As a biracial male, your videos are a huge blessing. I could never figure out how to style my hair properly and my barbers/family always recommended buzzing it, but thanks to you I'm able to keep my curly hair and still look presentable, thank you so much!

143Tsp: Im a white mom of biracial children. My 17 year old son grew his hair out in this pandemic and im watching this crying bcuz for months ive been trying to help him achieve this. Even went to a salon in the pandemic.... They didn't know wth we meant.... This... THIS... Is what we meant!!!! ❤️ Thank you for sharing this!!!!

Brodie Banton: The past week I’ve been trying to make my Afro curly and I just watched your video and tried the way you did it and it finally came out the way I wanted it too. Thank you so much

Victoria Pullum Scott: This process has worked wonders for my 17yr old son’s hair. Thank you! He gets compliments allll the time! ❤️ Anyways, I love how his hair turns out each week and wanted to know if it would work on my “relaxed hair.” I relax my hair every once in awhile but no matter what, I still come out with a wavy curly pattern. I like having the possibility of being able to wear the natural look but also having the ease managing the relaxed. Do you know if it would work?

Osiris Soul Alchemy Healing: Thanks girl! I just went full natural I would wear my hair with a Parting and this is my first time since I was little with out parting and it changes the life and body of the hair completely. Thanks so much for the tips!

Lauce E Colón-Pérez: Thanks for the tutorial ✨ Question: How often should we do this routine? Once of week or does it depend on the hair?

Michael Clark: Literally saw this last night and I just did it today and I love it! I haven’t stopped shaking my head Good looks

Sojo Slim: Literally where I'm trying to get my hair to be. Super mad I cut it years ago. Starting the process over. Thanks for the great video!

Chrystal Munroe: I did this to my daughters hair today and it turned out perfect. Thank you

brownsugarbaby: I do my daughter hair like this all the time. It actually last a really long time.

Mommy what is a $5DollarIndian: I really appreciated you pointing out that he likes the way his hair looks in its free form fro style!! That is so important for the black psyche thank you soooo much!!!!

J: Great video. Can you advise what the upkeep is like for this? How often should you shampoo, condition, reapply gel after doing this? Does the gel damage hair at all?

aanays: Chris at the end is a whole mood lol his hair turned out nice

Madi Greenway: This was very helpful, I’m cutting most of my hair off and when I cut my hair it’ll turn into a Afro and I wanted to know how to make is curly again so thank you for this ❤️

Dewa Ali: I tried it today, the results was amazing, thx♥️

kouhai !!!: Yaaaass, so cute of her to help him with his hair ✨ and it looked amazing and moisturized afterwards; she did great!

Creativewan: I'm gonna try this myself (and hope it still looks cute After its dry, lol). It's a given for my who's hair is longer and has a looser texture. We'll both play on wash day! Thanks for sharing

Mubasher: How long does the curl stay before you do this routine again? And how do I preserve it when I’m sleeping? Great video by the way!

Emily Thomas: Hey KAYLYN IVY, love the video. I was just wondering how long does this style last for and what can you do to maintain it?

Keynan Scott: Yo thanks so much I got 360 waves right now but I’m getting ready to grow my hair out and get curls instead thanks to your routine

NIKKK: love it. lol my brother has learned how to take care of his hair by watching me and my sister take care of ours growing up.

CJ Hill: Finally a tutorial that actually worked for me thank you.

Tirrell Jones: Short, sweet and to the point. Thank you

Danielle Grant: my hair looks exactly like this .. thank you. do more styles on him

Sam: Loved this!! Can we get more of Chris and your tutorials!!

charlie ferrari: My exact hair texture, thank you!

Shavon: First off his hair looks amazing, however I would definitely section it off to make detangling easier, nevertheless it’s looks amazing

cushe83: I'm a male and this is pretty much my hair routine.

IC P: Appreciate the help thanks a lot! God bless you both

TrillSammy: Love this video, surprised it actually worked for my hair how would you say to maintain this style?

Uchenna Ekechi: How do you maintain the hair, and what steps can you take to take care of the hair before going to bed?

Phoenix Echoes Audio: That disclaimer at the end tho, I don't blame you for preemptively planning to fend off some ig'nant person to come talk about curls vs afro blah blah. His hair looks great!! Great work

da12nvmp: His long do you wait to apply the gel after putting in the leave in conditioner?

Shandy Cherry: His hair looks Bomb! And his skin is flawless

Kamil Andrew: Finally a person that leaves the name of the products they use in the description box. Because you tubers basically never do that and it’s so annoying

KlickingKay ASMR: Did I miss something? Why are people so offended by the title?? P.S. he has beautiful hair, before and after. Will this work on a tiny fro?

Jamie ModelVsDirector: Going to do this on my son!

laupoisan: How do you maintain this on a day to day basis? I’ve got everything i need including the eco gel.

Javian Johnson: I need to try this! I have a jar of Eco Style just sitting in my bathroom cabinet

iGotYo: That's all we need to know no long ass video like the rest of em on yt that are basically explaining the same thing thanks alot Sweetie❤

DrumDaBeat: just a tip because i have curly hair too, never blow dry your hair with heat. i’m not sure if that was a hot dryer or not, but heat will take out all the moisture and make your hair frizz

Mako-chan: I'd love to do this to my hair but I'm not sure if I'd be able to do this and make it look as amazing

DJP: In conclusion: LONGER HAIR IS EASIER TO MAINTAIN/WORK WITH

Kobe Lambert: If your reading this, God bless you.

elizabeth nash: OMG that looks sooo nice!!!

zacharyss: Detangling takes so long, one time it took me 5 hours!

M F: Could you please do a tutorial with 4c hair? Thank you :)

Rix Zin: Can you use curl defining cream instead of gel2?

hot kebab: His hair is amazing before and after

Fara: I would love to do this but the way my 4c hair is set up, my hair would be super tangled by the end of the day.

Nevaeh Jackson: Great video, can’t wait to try this on my boyfriends tiny fro lol

Buttermilk Pancakes: Thank you so much for this video. You two are the best.

Eldanaኣፍሪቃ: Replace all the products with your natural oil of your scalp and Egg olive oil, and some thick oil mask. Rinse out. Ever time after washing your hair. No it doesn't smell put some essential oil in if you will. And the hair will be just as defined without any products needed. (for the natural oil you need to rub your scalp and massage it through your hair it smoothes it )

Azulu: Thank God I never let my hair get this out of hand and all I have to do is run water through my hair for this look. Just a tip for everyone out there all you have to do is detangle your hair at least once a month and you'll have this look each time you leave the shower (no product needed)

K L: As soon as she said the lighting was “tweakin”, I knew she was from Chicago

ROCKSTAR : Just let your soul glo, just let shine through, just let your SOULglo baby... feeling oh so silky smooth! LOVE it!

Svitlana: Wow!! I like after look - so glamorous !

Hanging out with the Johnson's Let's do this: This helps so much

Eliude W T Cardoso: Hi I just want to say this is a greta video and that I tried this out and it worked wonders the only problem being the shrinkage, is that something i cannot help fix? And now that I got this done how regularly am I going to have to repeat this process? Love from portugal!

Wild South: Dang I’m so jealous of African hair I just love it !!!!!!!!!

Eva Scott: My son hated haircuts so this is how I used to do his hair. ☺ He prefers the more natural fro now.

Adam Tak: Does that hair stay that length or does it get shorter as it drys?

bryceyy32: i will literally pay her to do my hair

Badasi12b: I want this look so bad! Lmao

Levz InDaCut: That looks like such effort. When I wake up I just get 2 hands and frizz my hair around

MycuhRoni: So if I wanted to wear my hair like this regularly what would be the maintenance? Like would there be anything special I’d have to do on a daily basis?

Neeuq Amilam: Your cousin Chris is still handsome before/after!

Dj Amrine: Thank you it worked perfectly

DJROWDY: “Just let your soul glow, just let it shine”

Kyeon TreVon: This look came out perfect and his hair density and texture looks exactly similar to mines... but wash and goes do NOT seem to work for me lol. Good job though

Kendrick Johnso.: What did you do for the flakes... every time I use that it when it drys it flakes
