Why Wearing Wigs Brought Back My Confidence After Loosing My Hair To Alopecia | Chiquel

Hey guys, it's ellie here from chic well and today, i'm going to be talking to you guys about how wearing wigs really improved my confidence after losing my hair to alopecia. If you don't know, alopecia is an autoimmune condition which causes your hair follicles to attack and fall out. So there's loads of different types of alopecia. You can have just patches or you can have full hair loss. I just want to put a little disclaimer at the beginning of this video. I am not saying that wearing wigs has solved all of my problems because it hasn't obviously there's a lot of self love to work on and all of that when it comes to losing your hair or going through a big physical change. However, that being said, wearing wigs has really really opened my eyes to a lot of things, one being that my hair can be ready whenever, wherever all i literally have to do, is pop it on, and i am good to go and that honestly saves me so Much time, and in that boost my confidence massively, i had super long thick hair and i was always dyeing it between blonde and brown. I just had no care for my own hair, no appreciation for it, whereas now i look after my wigs so well, i feel like i took such advantage of my bio hair and i'm like a new woman when it comes to looking after hair. Even these little. These little fluffy bits i look after them. I think education from wigs has massively boosted my confidence learning something new through wigs has really encouraged. My self growth wearing wigs has also boosted my confidence because of the versatility of wigs. If you had told me five years ago that i would be putting on a short red wig or a long blue wig or a super short style, pixie wig, i literally would laugh at you. I'D be like no. I, like my hair long and that's that i have tried so many new colors, so many new styles. I can really work and see what works on my face and that has boosted my confidence massively. I now know what styles suit my face: what colors suit me and what doesn't suit me. I know how to make myself feel my best. So that's another reason my confidence has grown massively. Like i said at the beginning, there are no quick fixes when it comes to getting confidence back after something so huge happens to you, and this isn't me saying that wearing wigs will make you feel really confident again, because some people don't on with it and that's Absolutely fine we're all on our own journeys and learning things ourselves. So this is just me sharing with you things that have helped me because they might help you too. I also have so much more confidence from wearing wigs, because, if i want to, i can wear a wig that is as close to my bio hair as i want, and i kind of get that comfort feeling. Sometimes, when i pop on a wig - and it really feels like my natural hair and other days - i'm like no, i want to go wild and that's cool, but there are days where i do just want to feel like i have my old hair back.
