Alexy Hair Wigs - Buyers Beware!!

This is a BUYER BEWARE REVIEW for ALEXY WIGS.

****PLEASE DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THEIR WIGS FAUX BEAUTY AND HIGH END PRICING. BE A CONSUMER AND READ REVIEWS and RESEARCH.. ( At the time I bought my wig, there were absolutely no bad reviews, except one bad review for which I must have scrolled past and didn't see at first, but for the majority they had five star reviews all the way through. Then after I purchased my wig, I noticed several new reviews showed up with one star reviews on the quality of their product and the customers got not response back, nor did they get any refund or exchange. So I thought I had done my research, I watched this company for over a year now and had seen nothing but good reviews ... so I am absolutely surprised that I had gotten a bad product from them and I hope you won't do the same.)

I am a lifelong wearer of wigs, because I have alopecia. Which means I have total hair loss and I rely on wearing wigs. I usually do a lot of research and reading of reviews before I purchase wigs, especially any wigs over $300. I've purchased wigs as much as $3,000 and the quality is very different when you purchase a higher end wig, it is very apparent that it is truly a "high-quality" product, because of the quality and workmanship that is put into those wigs.

From the video you will see some of the defects of this wig and from the one star reviews you will see it is a pretty common concern. Granted I know a lot of work goes into creating a wig and I don't expect something for nothing, but I would expect to be able to wear it for more than two weeks.

Things that were wrong with this wig:

1. Hair was thick and course

2. Hair appeared to be a blend with synthetic metallic shiny strands.

3. Dry hair

4. Thick baby hairs that were so stiff, they would not lay flat.

5. Lace was deteriorating from being over bleached, it crumbled along the front hairline.

6. Lots of 2"-3" short hairs sticking out heavy all over top of wig, hard to hide them.

7. Hair fell out continuously and thinned out heavily on top where hair parted.

8. Color washed out and dulled after 1 wash, wash water turned brown.

9. Dark hair coloring spots in lace along parting. Hard to cover up without makeup.

10. Thick, cut short, baby hairs in back along base perimeter, unnatural looking.

11. Hair matted and snarled.

His website states that due to the nature of the product there are no returns, exchanges, or cancellations. I've never encountered this unless it was a custom order, so I'm not sure why he would not allow some exchange or something when the product is obviously not what he said it was.

Overall, when I first got the wig, it did appear to have beautiful coloring, a nice smell, and the presentation in the satin bag looked elegant. But that was only on the surface. I have yet to hear anything back from the store owner, whom I hope will come forward and offer some sort of refund or exchange even with a possibility that they had a batch of bad wigs come through. I just hope that if he prides himself on the quality of his work that he will stand behind his work and offer some compensation of some sort to keep his name good.

Ultimately it is up to you, the consumer, to do your research. Is your choice whether you want to take the risk or not. At this point I would not recommend purchasing wigs from this company until  better reviews and follow up to these dissatisfied consumers has been initiated and or compensated in some manner.

Alexy sells across many social platforms  such as Instagram, Etsy, Facebook, Pintrest, and on the web.

So my Lex Alexi wig came in a nice satin bag like this and not some instructions on how to maintain your natural weight, agile, hair, we um, I got it made Knights. I ordered it um. It came really quick, which was very nice but um. Okay. So when it when I first took it out of the bag, it looked really pretty. You know the coloring is just fabulous, it's beautiful, I mean even looking at it now it looks really nice I mean in all retrospect. It is it's a work of art, but it is deceiving. I didn't first notice, which you can't see now, because I had to cut all the little baby hairs off. They were like these really funky straight little hairs which actually are on the on the bottom. In the back, there's these, like straight hairs that were like cut into the the existing hair to make look like baby hairs. There'S they're quite thick like this, and they were very straight and hard to curl or kind of smooth out to make him look less harsh. On the front line, the front line was plucked quite quite nicely, but there was like an area which you can't see now I have pictures, but it was plucked a little. I think a little too much in one area, so it had like almost like a bald spot right here, but then I did notice, though the texture of the hair was kind of this. It felt thick kind, of course, feeling almost darn ear like yaki. It wasn't supposed to be yaki but um, and then there's lots and lots of these little baby hairs that are sticking up all or in throughout the whole top of the wig. They would just stick out. You could see him like just by the handfuls of lots and lots and lots of them. Those are like the extra ends from where they tied off the length of the hair, which I don't know where ever the the original base wig it came from, they could have done a better job with that. I haven't really encountered too many wigs like this, where the hairs were. There was so many of them. It'S just it's. I don't know it was depressing for my for me because I have alopecia and I wear wigs for life, and I was really hoping that this would turn into something that I could really wear long-term upon. The fact that the front line was a little funky and I had to trim it back, the lace itself actually started kind of disintegrating or peat or coming off in little pieces. I I had to. I have to glue it down because I have no hair, so I glue it down with my front line down and then I kind of I would smooth baby hairs down to cover up that line, and I've only had this for not even a couple weeks and The hair is just so dry, I know I'm jumping all over, but as I'm looking at it, it just breaks my heart because it is such. It is a. It is a beautiful piece when you first look at it. It is absolutely beautiful. It'S like a work of art, but then to top it off, the hair itself falls out quite a bit falling out. Thank you. You run, I your not like you run your fingers through it and you get hair and I don't try to run my fingers through all the time, but it left so much hair all over my house and in my dressing room, my bathroom in my car, that It plugged my vacuum and you can also see like they just these little hairs just kind of there. They just kind of go Boing and they just stick up all over and I try to put I've tried to put like argan oil in it too to tame it down and maybe smooth it up a little bit. But it didn't didn't do much. But um I mean it, I don't it did, but, as you can see, I don't know if you notice notice this or not, but I don't believe real human hair has metallic like that in it. I feel like some of this is like a synthetic blend in here, and so that's what some of these weird ones are going to get they're really dry with that also, the hair that had fallen out left a lot of like left the top end of the Wig quite bald, you can really see through it there's whole there's big. Like big, bald spots, I mean I already bald. I have alopecia and I prefer to not have a wig with bald spots. I had to try to find makeup to cover up some of these. As well plus the dye that he used, you can see, there's a dark spot right here and then it's light and like another, like really light spot here from Bleach, and so I had to kind of try to cover all this up with makeup as well. But I mean you can see the little hairs you know I don't. I don't think it's an intentional thing. I just think maybe the the provider of their base, wigs changed them changed up on something here, because for the longest time they had five star reviews which I have been watching steadily because for about a year, because I really I don't want to spend lots of Money on a wig, if I don't think it's gon na - be a good quality because I have been burned in the past and I have you know - and I know what it's like to pay $ 3,000 for a wig, which I did, I'm a vacuum: prosthesis wig And then I know I just know what good quality is, as well as poor quality. I'Ve had every end of the spectrum, but I never really write, reviews and stuff unless I haven't heard back from the vendor or the provider because they don't want to represent the fact that the quality of their work just wasn't up to par. At this time and they're not offering up any type of compensation or to just take this wig back exchange it - and maybe it was a fluke case like I said - and get another wig, but I end up - I hadn't washed it once thinking. Maybe I could try to try to get some life back into it and I used the silicon mix as well to try to to get some life back in and I figured I'm kind of stuck with it and I was trying you know, and it's just it Just didn't oats so much on the top that I I can't wear it anymore on the front. End is like disintegrating with my glue when I wear it, it just comes off and the frizzing it just freezes so bad it then it mattes and snarls, and and when I did wash it just the one time that I did wash it and I let it Air dry, with the silicone mix, or after I washed it. I let it air dry, the the color came out. Quite a bit of color came out of it as well, but and actually before I use the silicone mix. I washed it with regular shampoo and a moisturizing, shampoo and conditioner that I use on all my wigs and then the water was already turning like a yellowy brown color and then, but I don't know, I'm completely heartbroken. I'Ve got alopecia, and I also referred these people to Alexi to other other friends that are going through chemo thinking. You know, though, we got a beautiful. You know resource here for you, ladies and I'm going to. Let them know that it probably wouldn't do them good, especially if they're going through chemo and they're, losing their hair and all of a sudden they get a wig and, and then their wig starts losing its hair. It I don't know it I. I would hope they would come forward and do something because it's just I didn't think this was a good representation of the work that I had seen and the reviews I had read, and also I mean you can see the inside is really splotchy like. Were they their dark dye and it's really dry, where they bleached it really dry. There'S some more stain spots and bleach spots really dry. It'S like it's like sandpaper, my head. It'S so bad! I didn't wear a cap, but it's so bad and yeah. I actually tried my own, not sealer as well to try to prevent the hair from falling out, but it just still wouldn't stop so they hit just moving around a little. It just goes broom on its own. I use not sealer, but the hair was like actually breaking off and because it is so dry - and I don't know I will quit rambling on - but I want I just want ever anyone else to see this before they purchase be a consumer. Be very wary of these wigs. They are not high-end. If it's a high-end wig, he would offer exchanges or not exchanges, but at least some sort of compensation to fix the situation that this. If he wants people walking around with these wigs on and saying hey, it's an Alexa wig and I have I have amazing hair from this beautiful. This is this amazing stylist that he does beautiful work? You know I mean if he wants people walk around saying that awesome. You know that's what I would love to do, but I am embarrassed. I don't want to wear it anymore or I can't wear it actually, not that I don't. I want to wear it, but I can't I'm embarrassed so thank you and good luck on your purchases, like I said, be a consumer. I'Ve bought many wigs. I'Ve been wearing them for many years, and this is a major heartbreak. Like I said, I've spent a couple nights crying but take care.

cmcw W: That sucks! I am so sorry. I am glad I saw this before I completed my custom order! I’ve been following them for over a year as well. I’m getting married and I have the same problems you do so of course I want a wig. But that is just horrid. Where are some places you get wigs that are better? Now I’m at square one.

IZrbttYou: I had very similar quality issues with my order as you did-weird short chunks, metallic hair strands mixed in, and the hair itself was in pretty awful condition- so many broken ends that it had a rough looking texture all the way up. It even came with a bunch of short hairs sticking straight up from the scalp that I had to pull out! I was so disappointed.

TJ P: Thank you for doing this. I'm going to pass on Alexy now.

M T: I bought from them twice I am impressed how beautiful the hair is (even after 3 years)! I really don't understand what happened with your piece, but I admit I go to the shop as I live in Switzerland so I am always trying the wig before buying it!! and this year the quality improved so much in cap construction too!! the last one I can't feel any weight while it is long 180 density!! amazing colouring!!

Jenna Jade: thank u for this honest review im new to wearing wigs this just saved me from making a big mistake ordering! the pictures on the website are beautiful they really know how to make them look good..

Jessica Logue: Thank you for posting this. I was so close to buying one. I have lost all of my hair from alopecia as well. What are some good full human hair wig brands that you would recommend? I have bought from the hair mama and Jon Renau previously.

lilac dreams: I bought a wig from this site was absolute crap I had the same problem !

Camila Roa: Thank you so much, you just helped a lot of women with this review.

Alexandra Moon: I am so glad you did this video. That is a bad quality wig especially for the price. I am canceling my order.

Faith9120: Thanks for your review, I have some questions: what type of hair is this wig? how much did you pay for it? was it a budget wig? Just wondering cause I was looking at their euro line and his videos show bouncy healthy hair. Your link to what you ordered it no longer there. Those shiny pieces are in my current wig too (milano) they swear there is not one strand of synthetic hair in their factory so I did the burn test on them and they do burn like real hair and not like synthetic. the cap looks like it's over-bleached for sure and that would make the hair fall out . I am now concerned and won't order after seeing your review thanks.

Jezaberr: Thank you for posting this!!!

Angela Lang: I ordered a topper and had a similar experience. Poor quality work and poor quality hair.

Marmuzele: Im so sorry this happened to you..:( its very sad . And they cost so much it is not acceptable. They really should Exchange the wig for you.. have you ever tried moramode wigs? Ive been watching so many reviews of them And videos on YouTube. They seem to be nice quality . Planing to order one myself. I hope it will be good

Laura G: Crap this is the only brand that looks legit did you find another brand !? Help!! Also which style wig was it ? Thanks ! So sorry this happened I’d dispute the charges on my card

Nunu Minu: Thanks was about to get one

Angel Mendez: I’ve been to the actual shop and all the wigs are terrible condition all the wigs are not pure human hair it’s synthetic human hair fiber mix The owner name is Alex BERTHELOT

Simply with Delia Papion: Wow thanks for the information I will not order for them.

Alicia Harriman: I’ve had three of their wigs. I think you may just not be used to a quality wig bc their pieces have always been amazing
