Hey everybody welcome back to taz's weight closet at wig studio one. I have a first look for you today on one of the brand new styles rolled out by raquel welch for fall 2020. This one is called high octane. It is a brand new blonde, shade you're not going to want to miss all these details. Coming up, i purchased this style with my own funds from wig studio. One expand the description box below where you'll find a link to this style. So you can check out the prices and details. I will also attach a promo code for a discount high octane is a long layered kind of casually wavy style, something a little bit different coming out of that raquel welch line. But first i want to break down and discuss this brand new blonde shade this rl 1621 ss shaded glazed sand. So, as of the date of this filming, the 1621 ss shaded glazed sand is only available on the three new styles for fall 2020, which is high octane in charge and flirting with fashion. My hope is that they're going to uh promote this color in all of the heat friendly line eventually, so the rl1621ss starts with a medium to dark sandy blonde. A lot of that is going to be concentrated there at the nape. This just gives a very multi-tonal effect: lots of layering of those sandy blondes medium to dark and that's very heavily highlighted, then, with an a pale ash blonde, and that is those blonde highlights are distributed throughout. I think they're a little bit chunkier around the face and in true raquel welch fashion, they did band that highlight color uh right up to that lace front now. The biggest news on this, i think, is the rooting finally we're getting some lighter brown rooting um in its ash in tone. It'S just a very subtle transition from the root to the main body of the color. This is so well done, and so very natural. Looking so, let's briefly discuss the dimensions of this style, so you know how it's going to hit you around the face. There'S a 10 and a half inch front piece here, that's going to stretch at least three to four inches below my chin. Now, overall, i did measure from the crown to the tip of the hair in the back and it's between 18 and 19 inches in its curl pattern. There are some other back and side layering on this style and it does have a temple to temple, lace, front and full monofilament top. Let'S take a look at this lace front. This lace front doesn't disappoint. It'S everything you imagine it to be from a luxury cap from raquel welch. It has a temple to temple lace, front that does extend back into the ear tab. Now there it's very obvious of the highlight color being brought up to the root and lots of fiber spliced in there giving it a nice, realistic, look and then anywhere. You want to part it on the top. You have a hand tied single monofilament. That gives you lots and lots of parting options and true natural appeal. So let's discuss this curl pattern. This curl pattern is something that i have never seen just kind of briefly thinking about it from raquel welch. This gives me more in mind of something from belletress um or even the hairdo wave cut. So what you're going to see is a lot of beach, deconstructed beachy wave, it's kind of tapered and textured at the ends just kind of cascades through those layers. If it's not already obvious to you, there is a lot of hair on this style. This is a medium to thick kind of a density. It just gives lots of body and structure to the wave pattern. It feels very airy based on some of the texturizing that they've done on the ends. So let's talk permatease a lot of times with a voluminous, curly style. You can expect a lot of that thicker heavy pillowy permatease to support the curl. This one has a very modest amount of permatease you'll find some around that monofilament at the crown at the back. Most of it is going to occur at the nape. In fact, the nape is only the real only place. I feel a thick heavy uh presence of permatease everywhere else. It'S just very modest. This is the true to light fiber by raquel welch, meaning that it's heat friendly. What you will notice is that raquel welch is coming out uh with mostly heat friendly styles, and i have not talked to anyone about this, i'm just kind of making my own observations and my own uh guesses as to why this may be raquel. Welch brand really stands for quality and the signature line really stands for. Luxury you'll see this throughout the cap and all of the materials used, including the fiber. So the three things that i think are big reasons why raquel welch goes to a heat friendly fiber on their newer styles is number one quality and construction. These fibers are super luxurious and that just is very consistency consistent with the luxury and the quality of their brand number two is realism. I think that the heat friendly fiber is less shiny. It moves more like natural hair and i believe that if you like human hair wigs, this is probably the closest thing that you're going to get in terms of texture and feel and then. Lastly, the option of doing a little bit of heat styling to make it. Yours, i just was kind of stirring this up a little bit right out of the box, giving it a shake, applying it going through my little maneuvers here to make it frame the face. How i want it and all of a sudden, you can see the fuzzies come out now. This to me is also a very natural look. Human hair, finer human hair, always has some flyaways, even in hollywood, if the sun catches the hair, just right on these, the the actresses and models, you can really see little fuzzies here and there and that's just a sign of having really fine hair. Now the good news is in high heat and humidity conditions, you're not expected to have more flyaways on this. In fact, you'll probably end up with a little more flyaways in drier conditions, especially in the fall and winter. Okay. Let'S take a look at this beautiful cap inside look at the cap for raquel welch's high octane temple to temple lace front. It does extend back into the ear tab nicely. Contoured nice, fine, knotting, that's all hand tied a seam adjoins to the single hand-tied. Monofilament top lots of different parting options available. A nice velvet covered ear tab. The stays are minimal on this one, but i feel like it's a long style and there's plenty of fiber there for good coverage. It'S a part of their memory. Cap 3 series you'll see that the silicone does run along these weftings. That gives it a secure and custom like fit a velvet nape with velcro style adjusters. I did have to cinch in and nearly criss-cross those adjusters to to get a secure fit for a petite average circumference. So this style is right out of the box. I took it out inspected. It gave a quick shake to it. I also used a little bit of combing at the root just to bring it alive, separate it from the cap a little bit bring air into the layers so that it moves freely. I used a little bit of heat from the palm of my hand to create a little bit of contour. Now this one was a little bit, stubborn, probably because of the sheer weight of the sides, it's a little more difficult for me to use the heat from my hands to get the contour that i was looking for. So you may need to use a heat appliance if you want anything permanent in terms of a lift at the front, but this is pretty much how it came right out of the box, i decided on a little bit of a left of center part. I felt like that frames the face really nicely and keeps the front pieces out of my eyes so for styling, i'm just going to manipulate this hair, so you can get a good sense of the thickness and the movement and hopefully some inspiration to style it. Thank you so much for joining me today for a look. The brand new high octane style by raquel welch in the new color rl1621 ss, see you next time on taz's wig closet at wig studio, one you

TAZS WIG CLOSET AT WIGSTUDIO1: Hello All! The color here is what I originally thought.. RL16/21SS SHADED SAND, not SS16/21 Shaded Glazed Sand. We are correcting it on the site! I'm so excited about this blonde! I hope they extend it to other styles soon:-) Have a blessed day! XOXO TAZ

Lisa Wawrzynski: Hi Taz! I just received my High Octane(s)! I love this wig, it's gorgeous!! I got the following colors: 1. Shaded Sand. Absolutely gorgeous color (a new favorite) and mine looks exactly like yours, same wave pattern. Subtle rooting is so natural-looking, it's a winner. 2. Shaded Wheat. The color is classic shaded wheat, just as expected. The wave pattern is a bit looser than our shaded sand but still gorgeous. 3. Shaded Iced Pumpkin Spice. The wave pattern is a bit different, has the same wave pattern as the one Marlene reviewed. The color is not as expected; very minimal highlights at the lace front, which is odd for RW wigs (for reference, the color on my wig does NOT resemble the RL29/33SS of your Upstage) making the hairline "straight across" the forehead (although the knotting is very fine). Also on mine, I don't see any rooting and the color isn't very cool/ashy, and with the minimal highlights does not work for me so I'm returning it. The High Octane style is very pretty, the length is perfect, and offers many styling opportunities. The hair fibers are soft and natural. The cap fits my 21.50" circumference very comfortably. Take care, Lisa

Megan B: I love this color! I hope they do add this to other styles soon. As always you look so beautiful in any wig you review

Monika's Beauty & Lifestyle: I love it. That shade is awesome. I saw this in Deepest Ruby on Marlene this morning and loved it on her! I so wish I could pull off long hair!!! Gorgeous on you!

Sheri: I’m a human hair person and don’t wear my synthetic ones as much but this is gorgeous I’m going to try it for fall! Love the styling tips in this video! The double scrunchy —I’m going to try today! I watched this section twice! Thanks Taz!

Zobelise: This one is so versatile and realistic, I love it! When you flipped the part each way it looked fantastic. My eyes kept drifting to the long layered style on the top shelf in the middle behind your right shoulder. Which one is that and have you done a review of her yet? Thanks for all the wonderful content you put out there for us Taz, it’s a great help!

Mint: Hi Taz, what a gorgeous piece. It’s fairy princess hair! The color is beautiful too. I especially liked all the styles you created at the end. The messiness gives a modern edge. By not being fussy, the wig looks like real hair. Thank you for showing it. Lots of love, Sharon xo

Marlene's Wig & Chat Studio: Good Morning, Taz! This style looks gorgeous on you! I think it's just beautiful! Love this new color with the lighting rooting. Yes, it does look honey! Love the way you styled it. I need some of those Etsy pins! I put up my review on High Octane this morning; I had received it about an hour prior to recording so it'd be what in the beauty community we call a "first impression" video. I thought the curl pattern on mine is different than yours but I feel both are gorgeous. I'll be linking both our videos on the WS1 FB page, right now. Thanks so much! Great review as always! XOXO Mar

Miss Pethamhouse: OMG!! So excited with that new colour!! Yes, agree with you that it looks like PGH with a root. I just checked and they now call it RL16/21SS Shaded Sand, I guess to differentiate it from the Glazed Sand in the vibralite collection. Thanks so much for review this new piece and colour!! Love this time of year when RW launches her new styles!

Lisa Wawrzynski: Hi Taz! I've been waiting for your review of High Octane and it did not disappoint! I love this style and color and can't wait for my order to arrive!! Take care, xoxo Lisa

Nicki James: This is a lovely wig Taz, and, as always, looks so nice on you You have a nice defined jawline so can suit any style or length. I’m not sure I’d suit the longer length although editors pick looks okay on me, but I’m rubbish at styling wigs, probably as my own hair was always very fine and now thin, so can’t do anything with it anyway. You are so good at styling your wigs, but it would be great if you could slow the video down abit when doing the styling options please Taz, lol Do you think it’s a good idea to style these true to life fibre wigs often or would it possibly ruin the fibres? Sorry, just one other thing I’ve been meaning to ask you - because my hair is thin all over, the only thing I still manage to do, is putting my hair in a little ponytail, which looks more like a twig And a hair scrunchie with chopstick, BUT, you can see my scalp show on both sides. It’s a dead giveaway I’m wearing a fake hair piece and ruins the look. Any ideas how I can get around this, like, can you suggest a hair scrunchie that has enough strands of hair which I can possibly pull over to the sides as well as giving the volume at the back over the chopstick please? No worries if not ❤️

Robb Endicott-Powers: I fell in love with Raquel Welch wigs the first time I saw her debut this line.......and has been consistent every year since. You wear them so well.....you own them and make them yours! I would love to chat biz with you.....your a genius!

Monique French: Taz, your channel came across my algorithm as I was starting my research to use wigs to cover my thinning hair. I love your reviews, and HAD to sub!! You look stunning in ALL your wigs. You have a lovely community of supportive subs. Please keep producing this awesome content!!

popgems: Ooh, I want to love this one, but I'm still on the fence between this style, which has the RW colors I love like this new color or shaded cappuccino, or the Belle Tress Maxwella, which I love, with the light density, but am not crazy about the color choices that are too warm (too much red) or too ashy blonde for me. I'm afraid that this one may turn into a ratty birds nest after a few wears, so I would love to see a follow up video after you've worn her for awhile. Thanks Taz!

London Jean Semberg: I love the heat friendly fiber. No shine, and doesn’t feel plastic’y to the touch. I also love that it stays where you put it, doesn’t flop or just hang down your face and doesn’t need tons of product. I mostly wear human hair, so maybe that’s why I so prefer it to regular synthetic as you pointed out.

luckystars2000: Wow! This is gorgeous on you, especially when you styled it into a Brigitte Bardot near the end there. No way could I pull off this much hair though, so I will just admire it from afar. The cynic in me believes there is a 4th reason why most RW wigs are made from heat-friendly fibers now, and that is the fact that the lack of durability of the fibers will inevitably lead to the need to replace the wig sooner. I love that new color though!

Christina Knapp: What a gorgeous color! I think it does look a lot like pale golden honey except maybe not quite so gold! I love the rooting being a little bit lighter but not gold. I like that the roots are short as well kind of like HM GR! I definitely want to try this color and I’ve been wanting to see more of the style! This is going to the top of my list! So excited for all these new RW styles they are definitely trying to keep up with BelleTress is never ending styles!

Sandra G. McAlister: Loved how you styled this wig very pretty. Gorgeous wig!! Thanks Taz, have a great day!!

Holly Kurtz: Beautiful as always! I really don’t care for the trend of RW going larger in their cap sizes. I’m almost afraid to order new styles.

Krista L: Love this! I’m normally not into long wigs but this looks so loose and breezy!

Mama Parsinc: Gorgeous style Taz. Thanks for the review. I know you keep it simple by using water with regular fibers. Do HD fibres need a specific HD shampoo for washing and detangler for daily maintenance? Thanks

Patty Carosi: Taz this one is so beautiful! I do love this color. You really styled it beautiful as you do them all. You look beautiful always! I was wondering is there a special (right) way to wash and condition the longer heat friendly wigs? I am always afraid of damaging them. I use good product's and hang them upside down to dry. How do you wash your longer wigs? Thank you Taz for all your help. Hope you are having a great week! ❤

Pamela Prescott: Taz my friend this looks gorgeous on you I love the length, the color is awesome and the rooting is awesome . I am so tired all the dark rooting on the wigs. So natural. You did a great job picking this one.

mary allen: Really fabulous on you, Taz!! And, I love the new color. Finally a lighter more blended root color!! Be well and Blessed. Enjoy!! Love you, Mary ❤️❤️❤️

chryssiissyrhc: Sooooo cute and looks so natural! Definitely going on my “to buy” list! Which lady is on the bottom row, 2nd from the left of the screen? That curl pattern is lovely! ❤️

sdraper2011: Ah, there it is! Gorgeous!! <3 <3 <3 Definitely going on my wish list.

Ronda: Hi Taz Yup. I totally understand what you mean about questioning fibre choice for certain styles. I am really, REALLY hoping that the big, main stream wig producers start reintroducing some new, beautiful, up to date styles in good quality SYNTHETIC again, and stop flooding the market with so many heat friendly styles (which is just how the market appears to be atm). Honestly, my heart sinks every time I see another heat friendly style being released. At the very least, if they're going to keep pushing heat friendly styles on us (while only offering a small selection of new synthetic styles), then I hope they IMPROVE the fibre, making it more user friendly and longer lasting. Overall, as things stand, currently, for my needs, and IMO, there are just so many negatives attached to the heat friendly styles, particularly for the price. Honestly, I'm almost at the stage of thinking that if I really wanted those features, I would just be better off in the long run to go straight over to wearing human hair styles. It's just all so frustrating. Anyhow, aside from all that lol, you've given us another great review! Thank you SO much, Taz. I really appreciate the time and thought you put into your work. It really does help. Love and hugs Ronda xox

KittyMatador: Absolutely stunning! I love it!

Sheila Keilty: What a great color!! DEFINITELY Pale Golden Honey with a root! And LOVE the lighter root

Nicki James: A lovely wig again Taz Can I just ask, has this one got as much volume or permatease as the RW Freetime? I’m not used to wearing long wigs but like the fact it has more styling options, but not keen on loads of bouffant hair on top

Anthony's Wig Spot: This one is so beautiful I kinda want it to put it into a updo or what the heck I might just wear it down. I never go for long styles especially in HD fiber but this one is speaking to me for some reason lol

Elaine Dowell: I'm grateful for the attention to the color on this one. I have the original plain Glazed Sand and love it. I just don't care for the color distribution on this one. I think maybe I just don't like it at all; it just seems to overpower you. Too much hair even for Raquel. JMO, great video.

LuLu Kellogg Atelier: I absolutely love this color and love the rooting!

Roots, Rocks & Feathers: Oh, they put a root on Glazed Sand! wow! I'm glad it's ASH, Praise the Lord! I was so over warm root colors-they don't look natural in fluorescent light, I found. The TressAllure color 1621, by the way, is pretty much identical, though unrooted and a bit more blended, just an FYI for people. I did a comparison of those colors in my "other life", so gorgeous_I had a Lantana in 1621 and a Brave the Wave in 1621s+ and except for the extra highlighting around the face on the RW piece, they were almost identical. I love the In Charge piece, as you may figure, knowing me as you do. One thing I do not like about HF fibers is that they are so stiff and clumpy in the straight styles. I personally don't really think it looks all that natural and I see it on my SUWAT ends, that they just stick out at times, don't move easily. They seem to me like dirty hair. Yes, they are less shiny, but I've seen regular synthetics that are not that shiny, either. So, that is just my take on them. I won't forgo them entirely and everyone has their own preferences, of course! RW caps are so wonderful! ~Cynthia

Anne Watts: This is a beautiful wig! I have bought wefted wigs from Raquel Welch before and found that you could see right through the hair to the wefts and my scalp (I have alopecia and am completely bald). Do you think that this wig would provide adequate coverage for someone with no hair?

Jean Jacobs: Greetings Taz! She is so luxurious. And I like the lighter root. Blessings ❤️

Wear Wigs with Me: LOVE LOVE LOVE! Kind of reminds of a higher quality Ocean! Wonderful review, packed with great info!

StudioQ: Hi Taz! Lookin' at High Octane for possible purchase for a wedding on Oct. 10. I am a bridesmaid in my sister's wedding! When you pulled High Octane up and secured it on the top of your head, I thought I was lookin' at Bridget Bardot! I've always loved that hairstyle, and it looks like High Octane could create that look. I am so glad you showed the Bridget Bardot Famous Hairdo! Your skin and makeup is gorgeous too! p.s. You sure know how to take a girl's money......from one Sales Gal to another! I love it, Taz

Gayle Kemper: Gorgeous love the color please do a topper like this in this color…

angie wills: Just ordered this lovely wig and have no idea how to get it to look like your video. It seems really curly rather than wavy. A how to would be wonderful! You are just beautiful and it looks fabulous on you.

flordeborinquen: I love your reviews. This one is on my wish list. Can you tell me the brand and color of your lipstick? I love it!

Jennifer JD.Freeman: Octane is gorgeous... bought me two of them

Lisa Moore: Taz, thanks for this review! Do you think a side swept bang could be cut into this style?

Margaret Tassey: Wow. Not for me, but color and cut both very realistic. Looks great on you. Thanks for the review.

Sheila Keilty: BUUUT: I could not disagree more with with your points about the true2life fibers. I find them UNrealistic, in that they have very little natural movement for me. They seem sticky, waxy, and clumped together right out of the box. I prefer the Belletress HD fibers...

lil poohbear: Gorgeous unit...Thanks. When you put her in an updo...serious wedding or special occasion hair!! Fantastic Taz

midnightblackroses: Gorgeous (then again you always look amazing!). I wish she wasn't HD fibres, seems pointless to have a long wavy one that will need heat

AJ Row: Taz, Somehow I missed this one! Love, Love, Love the soft rooting! ❤️

Love OneAnother: If I didn't know you wear wigs I wouldn't even be able to tell it was one. GOD Bless you and your channel. In JESUS NAME

Jackie Marsh: Really Pretty Taz!! I Love Her!! You Look Gorgeous in Her Sweet Friend!! Thank You as Always for a Perfect Review!!! Love and Hugs!! XOXOXO

The Indecisive Wig Wearer: Nice review and so pretty!

Jennifer Steele: Beautiful hair!

Jewelz Dior: Hi there I’m new to your channel and wearing wigs but do to my Psoriasis on my scalp becoming worse I can no longer die my hair to cover those nasty greys and my hair texture is changed and started to thin out and break I am so grateful to have found your channel it is giving me so much advice and confidence I think you for that and so much more they are a true blessing if you do happen to come across this I’m just wondering if you could possibly give me some suggestions with similar wigs that are the same quality synthetic possibly cheaper price range so I could start up my collection and I really want to try the Raquel line I love this one is there one similar possibly longer or any other in a straight style longer version blondes you would recommend live to her a line up of your favs from her line and in toppers too thanks

S H: Like the color, but not the style. The longer portion looks straggly and out of place. I think it would be much cuter as a shoulder length style. Another great review. Thanks for sharing!

kk doc: I am genuinely confused. This color is amazing. But the same color is also on “Flirting with Fashion” you reviewed. And they are totally different. Is one a vibralite and the other heat friendly? I saw your comment here that one is SS16/21 and the other is 16/21SS. I like this color with very light root, not the other one with the dark root. (Agree with you). So what should I order? Does it matter that the SS is at the END of the color code as opposed to the beginning?

shesargur: LOVE that color!

Audra Bartholomew: Love that color!!

Patricia Redick: The color is beautiful. Of course, you look lovely. Thank you.

TIme Enough: Hi Taz! Do you think I’d like this color? Looks warmer and love the root. Style is too long but looking at Sincerely Yours in it. Thanks lady!! ♥️

Lindsey Marsh: TAZ, I am about to try to get rid of the zigzag part, and give some volume. I am a little out of practice because my hair has decided to grow in and I am at a micro-pixie, and it hurts now. I am not into wearing wig caps, but my hair gets intertwined and it hurts. All of my beauties have been less fun. I will never give them up because I love changing my appearance. Do you want any advice for maybe a bamboo cap to keep my bio hair healthy? With great love Bug

Nobody’s Ho: Looks beautiful on you

gina: Love her!!

Kristen -K Shaffer: Hi Taz! I just saw you on QVC! Awesome!!!!!

cher robbs: I thought it was pale golden honey in your intro. Pretty wig.

swineinny1: Looks great! I notice it’s getting on your face a lot — is that annoying or easy to control?

jude Alexander: Could you possibly do a long blonde straight wig with bangs?

Amy Rutherford-Close: She is ME! Love

Lynn McD: Do you only buy synthetic wigs or human hair too?

Kayak Adventures: Is it not lace front wig?

Barbara M: I’d like to see you comb that on video, even maybe bring it a little more polished. Not really a fan of the long nape hair :-p

Anita Ward: Very sexy, love the color. Really a nice piece.

pam bazet: Why does yours look fuller and less shiny than other reviews? Others look wiggy, flat and shiny. Ive just ordered it but after looking at the other reviews it may be a return. That has happened to me before. I know you are an expert at natural wig looks but maybe we need some of your other tips. I've seen the one video you put out on that but doesn't address this issue. I do own Editors choice and love it but I'm looking for a second and I've been thru 3 returns.. I loved how you made Upstage look but when I got it, it was flat and shiny. You make them all look natural. Not so easy on a lot of them. I just wear them for convenience and fun

Melissa Lynn: Cute cute!

Nunofyour Bizness: You are beautiful, but the wig looks very green.

Susan geddes: Don't like this wig at all
