Not sure about the differences between the two or which will suit your lifestyle best? Synthetic and human hair wigs both have their advantages.

Are you looking to buy a new wig but are struggling to decide between synthetic or human hair?

Here we discuss their respective benefits to help you decide which kind of wig is right for you:

Human Hair

Human hair wigs are considered to be the crème de la crème of the wig world; human hair is soft, shiny, and a human hair wig will move and behave just like your natural hair. If you choose human hair then you can cut and style it to suit your personal tastes and if you choose hair that is Remy quality then it will have minimal tangling and maximum thickness and shine.

Due to their high quality and sophisticated construction, real hair wigs are often more expensive than synthetic wigs, which means many owners will prefer to just have one human hair wig at a time. However, because they are made of real hair, they can also receive treatments and be styled like real hair.

Since human hair wigs are made of the real thing, they require just as much maintenance as natural hair: that means that you will regularly need to wash, dry and style them. If you’re looking for a wig that you can throw on without any effort each morning then a human hair wig might not be the right choice for you.

Synthetic Hair

In recent years the quality of synthetic hair has improved dramatically, making it harder than ever to tell the difference between the two. Synthetic hair tends to be more affordable than human hair, so if you’re looking to buy a wig on a budget this could make it the perfect choice for you. Another appealing aspect of synthetic hair is that it tends to be pre-styled before you buy it: you can take it straight from the box and wear it with very minimal effort needed on your part.

The flip side of this, of course, is that it is very difficult to change the style of a synthetic hair wig, meaning that if you want versatility, you would have to buy more than one (one wig featuring curly hair and another featuring straight hair, for example). Synthetic hair also tends to last for a shorter lifespan than human hair: you can expect it to last for between 4-6 months in optimal condition. At that point, you would need to consider replacing your wig. Despite this, because of how affordable synthetic hair is, it may still be the best option if you like to change the style of your hair regularly.

Both human hair and synthetic wigs offer great quality. Real hair will want more of your love and attention, while synthetic wigs are great for a quick, natural-looking solution.
