Step 1: Brush or comb the wig from the end. Gently comb the end of the wig first. Once they are not finished, climb up toward the roots until you can comb them with a brush or comb without being hooked. Straight or wavy wigs use wire brushes, and curls use wide-toothed combs or fingers (including natural/African textures).

Step 2: Fill the sink with cold water and then squeeze the shampoo 1 or 2 times. Use a high-quality shampoo for the type of hair you wash. For example, if you are washing a curly wig, use a shampoo for curly hair. If you know that the wig has been dyed, try the color shampoo.
You won’t apply shampoo directly to the wig. Instead, you will use soapy water to clean the wig.
Do not use a 2-in-1 shampoo containing conditioner. You can use conditioner on your wig, but you don’t want to put it too close to the roots.

Step 3: Turn the wig over and put it in the water. Use your fingers to turn the wig cap from the inside out to keep the wig fibers loose. Put the wig into the water and press down on the fiber to immerse it in the water. Gently wig the wig to help distribute the shampoo on the hair.
Turning the wig from the inside out will make the shampoo easier to reach the wig cap, where most of the dirt, sweat, and grease gather.
