Natural Hair Kids: Valentine'S Day Hair! Heart Shaped Bun And Ponytail On 4C Natural Hair

In the spirit of Valentine's day, I decided to do a cute but very simple and easy hairstyle on my daughters hair. A heart shaped ponytail with a heart shaped bun. She loved this style and it was a hit at her school.

Hey guys so Skylar's hair is not freshly washed, it's actually midweek yeah. I just removed it from the style that it was in and it's fine, because the style I'm doing today actually works best when you're working with stretched here. So I started out just by separating and detangling this section, and then I spritz it with some water just to make the hair a lot easier to part. And then you just go ahead and part the heart in the hair to make the ponytail. And if you know how to draw a heart, it should be quite easy to part the heart. You just got to do some working with it and it may take a while. My heart's not perfect, but it'll do for me, so just work with it until it's to your liking. So then, I just spritz that section with some water and then I add Shea moistures, curl enhancing smoothie to moisturize the air, and I just put it in a ponytail with some edge control in for the ponytail. I'M just gon na make about five to six. Two strand twists just moisturizing each twist with the alakay naturals J yogurt here moisturizer, so this large section is actually what's going to be the Hart bun. So I just spritz it with some water detangle a little a little bit with my tangle teezer brush it down, and I'm actually going to use gel for this section, I'm using eco styler gel instead of using the EDS control. Just because it's a lot larger section. So then, I just add the hair donut to the ponytail, and the trick would make it the heart bun is that you have to shape the donut to look like a heart. I use those little black rubber bands and I just put one on each side of like the heart. For instance, I put one on the bottom and then two on the top on each side, just to get the shape of the heart. I know it's hard to see it in this video, but basically, if you know what a heart looks like you just pinch each side with the rubber band to make the appearance of a heart and there's the heart. So then you just shape it to make it a more defined heart shape. You can um add some bobby pins in there if you need to just play around with it just to make it look more like a heart. So then, I just add some beads and some hair bows sitting here just to accessorize it, but it still looks really cute without it, and then I just of course i Swick down her edges in lay her baby here and there you have it. The final look as well as Skylar and her silly faces, but um thanks for watching guys.
