Hey ladies welcome back to my channel, so i have my hair up. It is ready to come down. It'S like been in this microfiber towel. It'S whisking away! All the water! Welcome to a video that i think you're going to want to keep into your video library of how to get mega volume in your hair. So if you're new to my channel my name is nicole johnson, i am a professional makeup artist. I share with you on mondays and fridays: 10 a.m, eastern standard time, everything on makeup, skincare, hair care and today we're doing hair care. So i'm really excited and valentine's day is coming up. So i really wanted to do a video where you could do something special. You could really see that volume if you're struggling with volume. I get this question all the time now, since i have a little secret sauce, i have a little secret of how i get this volume and it really works because everybody asks on a daily basis. How i get this so first tip is microfiber towel, so so you're not going to be wanting to take a regular towel and putting your head upside down and just basically drying your hair with a regular towel. There'S a lot of breakage it gives you split ends. It gives you frizz, it's not good, so i have these in multiple different colors. I will list everything below everything i mentioned in this video. You don't necessarily need, but if you find certain products that you want to fill in to what you're using they'll all be listed below easy access, you don't have to search around for them. So i have this in white. I have a black one. I have one that is of tropical you've. Seen that one my tropical towel, i really love, they are great. Not all of them are created equal some do not absorb the water out of your hair, which is very frustrating but um. These do that i have so. I will i will direct you to the microfiber towel. So, let's move on to what i put in my hair after i have you know not washing or not drying it yet so i use the olaplex. This is what my little combination was for. My shampoo. I did the bond builder first for 10 minutes. I put on a shower cap to to seal in everything 10 minutes. Then i used the shampoo, so i rinsed it out used the shampoo and then i used the bond maintenance conditioner and then what i'll do at the very end is going to use the bonding oil, so that is going to be the line up there. Now i usually use the kerosene volume. This is the mousse bouffant. This is a stronghold moose, which i really love, and then i recently got and i've been testing out. The instant volume leave-in mist from kristoff robin this is uh for with rose water is really why i bought it. You know anything rose, uplifted roots and fuller lengths. So i love that, and i love how this sprays it smells really good. So this is what we're going to use today. So what i like to do is i'm going to just separate my hair first, so i can get to i like to section out first like this and i like to spray in this crown area. So i can actually feel it's getting in on my scalp, so that's basically what i like to do in the crown area. I will put the volumizing spray there first and then i will be shedding for sure on this video, but let's just keep putting this into the hair. The sides everywhere you where you really want that volume, i'm going to just do a little on the front here. So i can get that real great root, lift i'm going to massage it into my scalp, i'm using the dyson airwrap today. This is an investment i made last year and i was very happy that i did so. What i'm going to do is my hair is dry right. My hair is not dry. My hair is towel dried. It is not wet it's damp, so this is perfect to go into using. I don't need to blow dry it. I do have the blow dryer here. Part of it, but i'm going to go in with my dyson airwrap, but this is going to be really the volumizing attachment, so i'm going to use this first, i separate my hair. That is the really most important thing to do. Is that i'm going to separate my hair and start at the base of my hair first and then work my way around? So what's really important. To note too, that is a very big tip. Is that i am going through the hair. I am molding. It then, once i get all of this done dry perfect, i will go back in and i will give it a shot of the cool, so that sets it that really seals it in so right when i'm finished with this being where i want it to be. Nice and dry, i will go back, i will hold it and then i will blast it with the cool setting and then i'll take it out and then i'm going to work on the next sections. So some of my hair started falling down, so i just took it back up, but that's all right, don't worry about it. Just incorporate it if you want to or just keep it out of that section, i'm going to go into my second section. This is what's really important because i'm getting each level with that volume already, it's not extreme volume. Yet this is just giving we're basically doing the first layer of how i get my extreme volume, but this is the whole process. You have to follow this process first and not just try to dry your hair all down and think that it's going to have that volume so now we're in the second section doing the same exact thing also i wanted to mention i get so much bounce and Lift with the dyson air. I just think that that's really half the battle, so this tool is really working for me. It'S i don't have to work that hard and it's not super hot. So it's not burning my hair so also i wanted to mention when i'm going in underneath like this, i will hold at the roots and pull up a little bit so you're getting that heat and then you're pulling it down. So you have that, but you can see that lift that's happening. So we have the second section done. You can see that volume that's happening. It'S really really. Nice again, don't forget the cool shot after you're finished and now we're going to do the last section, and sometimes i will you know section out this little piece here and do the sides first depending on, because this is really my most important part. This being able to section this out and get this up so i'll, sometimes we'll when i'm doing the mega volume we'll take this part out and then i'll just keep it aside, work around this and then do the last bit. So now i'm gon na go back with the last section here, so it makes it more manageable for me to separate like this, and you can see the volume that i'm getting throughout my hair now don't freak out. I did forget to show you that i have the thermo the heat protectant that i use on my hair. This is again from karistos. This is the lotion, so it's a long wear hold. So this is a blow dry product that i always use. Miracle reshape heat lotion, so i did do that. I did it off camera because i forgot at the last minute - and i was like - let me do this so we're on to the last section and we're going to just get this dry and then we're going to go into the secret sauce foreign. So i will just run through to make sure that everything is pretty much dry. The way i want it to be now. This is my normal blowout routine. Where now i would basically go in and put my velcro curlers, which is my secret sauce. I get them in all different shapes and sizes, and i get them at sally's on amazon, you name it. I love my velcro curlers. So now what i'll do is i'm going to switch the head off of my dyson and i'm going to go into the air wrap, so they have arrows on here. So this one comes back for the right side and this one comes back to the left. You can use the right one for the left, depending on how you're, turning and twisting your hair, but i'm going to show you how this is really. This is really the secret if you want that mega mega volume. So what i'm going to do first, is i always start off with the top now, so we're going to start off with the top i have different. I do have a lot of hair. That is all around my velcros but um. That is it's just like a brush, so it's fine! You can take them out. What have you, but i have all different sizes i like to use the larger ones in the front part of my hair and then i'll start slowly using the smaller ones. Since my hair is short and it won't hold obviously with larger velcro curlers, so that's what i'm going to do so, i'm going to show you how i piece out each piece and get this ultra volume, so i've just sectioned out my hair, the easiest it is For me, i'm going to turn this on i'm going to let it wrap around and i'm going to show you the process. I just shot it with the cool. I just pull it out like that. I will take one of my larger velcro curlers and i'm going to wrap it around and have it stay now. Sometimes it doesn't stay i'll have to use a clip, but i'm using smaller sections right now. So this is what's going to and that's really why i'm doing it. I want to have the smaller sections, because i'm going to get a better result if i'm using smaller sections of my hair than very large sections and trying to really create that volume. So i'm going to just do this all around with the dyson air wrap getting that beautiful, curl shocking it with the the cool blast which really sets the hair, then putting it into the velcro curlers and then you're gon na see like the mega volume. That happens. You can see that i'm not leaving it on for a very long time, because my hair, it did leave it a little damp here. So i could do this. So it's not dry dry dry, it's not bone dry. So i'm going back and just continuously doing these sections and you want to also if your hair goes to the side, you can obviously just direct. Do the direction that your hair, you want it to go. You wanted to lay so this is how really my hair falls. So i'm going to just put this velcro curler on an angle, but my hair is still a little damp. So that's something important to remember: you're, not drying it. So it's completely dry and then going back in with the air wrap you're, leaving it a little bit. The ends have to be dry in order for this to grab a hold of it, but the base here is not, which is great, so i get the last bit of drying and then i cool blast it and then i'm going to have some mega watt volume. I love also that the cool blast is right. Here you go up and then you can turn it off so you're not having to do anything too complicated where you're like. Oh, no, like i don't. I can't figure out where the button is it's right at your fingertips, very, very easy. So here we go, keep working around and then i'll meet you back here once it's all done, so everything is pretty much in. I do have some that come out because my hair is short, so it's always a challenge when you're working with shorter hair and a bob, but this can be any way you want. You can put them back like that. I tend to get too much like out of control volume if i do that with my hair, so i like to kind of have them more controlled like this, i will take my sexy hair. This is a spray and play big volumizing hairspray. I will spray. While it's in their velcro curlers so again, ladies, this is a secret sauce if you're not using velcro curlers, i don't know how many times i've said this on my channel you're, probably so tired of hearing about it, but this is the way that you're going to Get that volume, even if you're, not doing the whole process of washing your hair and then drying it and then putting these in. I always set my hair before i go out and my hair is, you know just what i need to get that volume i'll put it in put all the velcro curlers in and then i'll do my makeup and then i take it out, and i have that Bounce i have that fullness and my hair is might be a day or two old when it comes to uh washing. So this is really what i do then, once it sets now, it's not going to be 30 minutes since i've done this, but once it sets and then you take it out so this is just a really great pre like getting ready like do this right away. Then do your makeup or have a glass of wine or have a glass of champagne. You know just really enjoy this time of preparing and knowing you're going to get this beautiful, full volume. So now what i'll do is i'll? Take them out. They'Ll have more volume once they're, just basically set not just done, but you can see already that i'm getting this lift and i'm gon na tell you it's not just with thick hair. It'S not just with my hair, because the reason why i started doing this is because i would see my mom always using velcro curlers, all the time always and she has thin hair you've. Seen my mom on my channel. She has thinner hair, it's fine, it does not give full volume, it's not thick and her hair looks incredible after she uses velcro curlers. So you can see what is happening. This wouldn't happen. If i just blew out my hair, i am forming my hair, like i. Wouldn'T get that that just wouldn't happen with my hair, so these velcro curlers are the absolute best thing to ever happen to any of us, and you want to be careful when you pull them out, though, that's why i have some of the hair here: they're, not They'Re, very gentle, so you just have to make sure that you're pulling them out nicely and not getting crazy. So this is what goes on right. This is the mega fullness like you can just be like yes and then tame it down. Obviously so i'm gon na put the oil in at the ends. I'M going to show you all of the things that i like to do with my hair to tame it down, but you don't want to tame it too much because you know it's going to rest. It'S going to flatten out what have you so my other secret that i do so. I'M not gon na put anything in it. Yet my makeup's not done right, so i would be doing my makeup. So what i do is i take my hair. I pull it in one of these clips. I get from sally's, nice and tight, so basically it stays up. It'S going to stay up and it's going to keep all of that volume up there. I don't want to keep the velcro curlers in, because it's going to be just too much, you can see how it gets all bendy and it gets really. You know i want it to be now set up here in this clip. When i do my makeup whatever and then i take it out, it falls beautifully and it still keeps that volume for my events or for my dinner, what have you cocktails so now? I wanted to tell you a little bit about what i do after okay, so i have the hairspray i'll use that again, but to really give my hair that moisture to give my hair at night, i've showed you the caristas, the magic night serum eight hour. I put this in my hair. I also do the kyra sauce serum. This is like my third or fourth bottle of this that i have bought. This is the concentrate advanced, scalp and hair concentrate. I love that those are my two something new i bought recently. Is the refreshing dry shampoo smells beautiful, fresh affair, vitamin e and rice starch in this caristas? I wanted to try it because you know i have other dry shampoos. I use sparingly but when my hair looks dirty or yellow i'd like to spray because it has that white and it gives a refresh to my hair that works for me, it smells beautiful. Speaking of scenting, your hair, i have hair mists. You know i'm very big into hair mist. I love them. I i have a thing about moving your hair around and smelling like not such great scents or you pass by someone, and you know i just i think it's just really beautiful to always smell just faintly. Just feminine beautiful, so i have showed you my baccarat uh rouge 540.. This is a very expensive perfume, so i get away with it by buying the hair mist. I love the smell, so i have it in my hair. It'S a mist. It smells beautiful and lasts for days, so my hair is always smelling fresh, even if i just didn't just wash it. My second one from the same company mason francis um, kirk john. I know i said it wrong, but it's listed below a la rose, of course. Are you surprised? No, i know you're not and newly arrived this week that i bought from nordstrom is the aqua de parma. The rosa this is another hair mist. I did. I went a little overboard when i got it and i sprayed a lot of it and i was like i don't know if i like this, but it's because i went, i went crazy. I was like, oh i just wan na i just wanna keep spraying in my hair, so i'm gon na do the new one, and i just missed it over it's fine that my hair is up like this. It'S not a big deal. I don't want too much smells beautiful. Speaking of my whole room smells like the limited edition. Diptyque rose candle, i saved my nordstrom uh, my nordstrom points and i use it for february for this candle because it makes me feel like i can justify it because it is expensive. So i save up my little notes and i use it and the whole room right now smells like roses, which it should, because we are in the rose room right. Ladies, so now you have everything that you basically kind of topped off your hair. With your hair's up, say your makeup is done. I'M going to be doing my makeup next, so you're going to see that on monday on valentine's day, i have a beautiful look. It'S all coming together, if i showed you a little preview in the beginning of basically the whole look, so pretty very, very, very special. It'S a very special day for yourself. You don't have to have a valentine. You don't have to be married or in a partnership. It is about you and having the relationship with yourself. This is why i love the month of february, it's all about celebrating love and self love, etc. So now, if my makeup was done, i take my hair down and i want to see okay. How is it too frizzy what's happening? What'S going on with it? What do i want to do? Okay, so the ends could be just really nicely oiled with the bonding oil. A little bit goes a long way. I have the caristas oil also that i really love literally. I will start with two drops warm it up in my hands and then just i like to go underneath because that's where my frizz is you know that's my little. My little trouble spot and i'll. Do the ends don't want to weigh down the hair too much, but i want to get rid of those frizzies. You can see that this shampoo and conditioner, the bonding, really does maintain those frizzies give giving your hair that smoothness. Ladies look at you know how my hair looks most the time when i just pop on here, and it's all like everywhere, frizzy, especially in these areas. Here, look how beautiful that bond builder is really the key also to having just that beautiful. Look that smooth look! So that really hydrates the hair, you know i have gray hair, you know obviously it's dry and it needs to be more uh, more more concentration on that hydration and really getting that beautiful, healthy, looking hair. So this is really how i get ultra volume with those special techniques. I hope you try this. I hope you enjoy just having that extra volume, whether you're thin hair, whether you have thick hair, whether you have in between this, is totally doable for everyone. So until my next video i'll see you later, you

Peaches Skin Care: Nikol I have long hair and have been allowing my grey hair sparkle for over 3 years and I have absolute hair envy with your color. Loved this!! Happy Friday Nikol and everyone Lisa Stay beautiful naturally !!!

Hazy dreamer: Your hairstyle is fascinating, the fullness and the way it falls. You really are very lucky to have such hair. Thank you, I wrote down all the info and will try to do the same.

Connie Smith: Hello Nicole, love your channel!!! I have thick but very fine straight hair that lacks volume, your tips for volume are great and I have tried the Velcro roller styling as well. It works perfectly but falls within a few hours. Any tips or tricks for creating volume that lasts for longer than a few hours? Thx so much!

Mellie Vern: Girl, tips are good for us "sparse haired" girls but you were BORN with it. Coarse, fulll, gawjus. Blessed r u!

Judy Jeffries Corbutt: Love the video. I just wanted to let you know one of the best secrets you gave is to do the eyes first. It has been the best. Thanks so much for sharing your time and great videos. Your energy level is inspiring

Shirlyn’s Sleeve: Reminds me of what us girls would say in the 80’s “ The bigger the hair the bigger the party”! I have very fine, thin gray hair so learned to work with what my mama gave me.

Melody: I have used Kenra Volume 25 hair spray for at least 20 years ! I have tried many others & always go back to the Kenra quickly - I spray my roots and then use a styling tool - also, something I have used forever - Neutrogena shampoo - mix a squirt of it in with whatever other shampoo I’m using - does a fabulous job of cleaning product build up without drying out your hair (in my opinion !) I come and go with other products, but cannot live without these two ! Greetings from sunny Central Florida !

Michele Ramirez: Love the Velcro curlers!! It does take a little patience at first, but eventually I got better at using the Velcro curlers and they work great! I also love using foam rollers too!

Cheri Coffman: If I had someone to do that for me, I would never have a bad hair day, lol! Btw, I always love your manicures!

Jac Rickmann: I love love this video. I have started using the Velcro curlers all the time & love the volume I get. In Houston in the summer it gets very hot & humid so these are awesome!

Kandi Blick: Thank you! Wonderful tutorial! You're such a generous spirit and positive person. And I ADORE your Valentine's day dress!!!

Rad V: Hello Nikol!! How did I miss your channel in the last many, many years? Just clicked on "Play All". Wow this is going to take several days. I just turned 62 last month. My hair is super thick and curly (can become frizzy easily) and ... I got my first silver hair in grade 8. yep it's a family thing. (By the way my ethnicity is South Asian.) I stopped dyeing my hair when I turned 48 or 49 and for the first time saw my natural silver head (not a single black hair to be seen anywhere). Then about 6 months ago I started dyeing my hair again. Since I have no natural hair pigment, I can get the colour exactly as pictured on the box which is tons of fun!

Lisa Marie: Recently subbed, love your videos! Def admire your volume of hair (& lips!!); however my fave is the sleek, straight look. SO gorgeous! I find the big, waved bob skews a bit older. Would LUV to see you do a blunt bob video/look with jusssst a lovely little bend to it. ⭐️

Christine Mack: Good tips. I love the Dyson for smoothing too, such an exceptional tool and well worth the splurge if you can do it.

Kcf327: I laughed when you said Velcro I have been using Velcro for 30 years. Absolutely right on volume. Just love my Velcro everybody laughs at me but then no doubt they say how do you get your hair so full and nice. I love your channel. God bless

Diana Navarro: You have GORGEOUS hair and this totally works for straight hair. But I'm a curly girl and don't need to spend so much time! Wow!

Madison: Love it! Thank you for the tips!

joni4taz: Your hair is awesome. If I had hair like yours, I'd grow it out starting tomorrow! Happy VD

Katarína Tanc: I am so glad that you love BR 540 hair mist cause I wanted to buy it but read bad reviews on nordstrom.. So I guess I'll buy it now Also have to try the other rose scents and the candle, I love the smell of roses!

Antonia Rebelo: Thank you for this tutorial Nikol. Have a wonderful weekend!

Anuradha Singhania: Live your tutorials Nikol! I have a big issue with makeup staining the edges of my hair especially the area in front of the ears. Any tips to prevent or remove the stains?

Just Me: I really enjoyed this video. I've been trying to up my hair game for a while, and I'm definitely going to try some of these techniques. I just want to put out there that the products used in this video are EXTREMELY expensive. If you can afford them, that's great, they are very good products. However, if you are on a smaller budget, you can get the same or close results with drug store products as well. Just make sure you get products that say voluminous and are lightweight. The heavier you make the hair with product, the less volume. Also, for those that don't have the Dyson, get yourself some decent brushes. The larger the round brush, the more volume you will get. I'm not criticizing the video at all; it's great. I just want people to know they can still achieve great results on a smaller budget so that no one is disappointed, thinking they can't do this because they can't get the exact same products.

Pam Frank: Thank you for sharing this wonderful tutorial ❤ My Sister has your hair exactly...so beautiful

Lety Carrillo: Hermosa mujer, increíble pelo que tiene!!

C K: Nicole thank you for all the great tips this is a wonderful video. Could you put a list of all the great products from this video?? Xxxxxthank you HAPPY VALENTINES DAY ❣❤

Melissa: My hair wouldn’t ever be that full. No product will do that. It’s genetics.

Janet Morris: I’ve been using Velcro rollers for years too! Can’t wait to see the beautiful you! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!

Angela Elwell: You are a real find on this channel! Thank you for your fab advice on fuller hair!

Haydee Ramos: Thank you very much for this video. Those are very helpful tips

Reeny: Thank you for that tutorial, your hair is so thick, and gorgeous, your tips are awesome but for really fine hair would your tips work as well ??

AboutLondonandUK: You have enough hair for about four people! So beautiful!

Tinamarie Harrington: This was wonderful! Thank you! Did you also use the mousse you showed and I missed it?

Denise Gustafson: Thank you for all of the tips and tricks.

Sue Price: I have fragrance allergies/sensitivities-no fun! You are lucky x

Sharon Naumchik: You have so much hair I wish. My hair is salt and pepper and around the crown it's white. I have two sets of Velcro rollers I bought and never used. Since watching your video I'm going to be using them. My hair is also long but if I can get that volume on top I'm game to try it. Hopefully two sets are enough.

angela ornellas: Great tutorial !!!! Thanks !!!!!

Valerie Pallotta: I always love your videos! You are stunning. I love my white hair! So happy I let it go! This video is helpful IF you have a Dyson. I'm assuming if you don't have one a dryer and round brush will do the same?

Helen Rohl: Fabulous result. Beautiful. Wouldn’t want to be in a hurry though.

April Villalobos: I really enjoyed this video. I'll likely watch it again. Velcro rollers purchase is on my list now.

CityWideSale: Thank you, Nikol. I do like and have been using Aquis microfiber towels.

Patricia Keegan: Thank you….love my rollers which I got after one of your videos!

Vita Avanesian: Can you use the Dyson drier on really long hair?

kdsalyers: Is there a particular brand of velcro hair curlers that you use? I didn't see anything about those in the description area.

Brenda Yousey: Love the Velcro curlers. How do you clean yours ?

HOUSE DREAMERS: I have here in Davos Switzerland extrem dry air and wind and so my hair with hairblow is very dry ....I use hair oil as well ..like Jojoba oil which nurrish the hair with vitamins

Edie Ohoxoxo: So pretty in pink...adore that gown! Happy Valentine's Day...xoxo

sweet mother gist tv: wow this hair tips are awesome and real I will try them out

Elisa Saenzpardo: Gracias por compartir, tienes un cabello hermoso

peggy awald: looks amazing i would love to see you photoshop with lighter eyebrows just for fun

Michelle Filak: You have fabulous hair!

Amelia Clark: My sister used to use pop cans in her hair to get the (That girl look) lol it worked.

Ac Haley: You are so fun! ❤️

Anna Koutsogiannopoulos: You can say all you want, but very few people have your hair ‍♀️‍♀️your very lucky

Лиза Кисанова: The secret is - naturally thick hair. Only. ‍♀️

Jackie Davis: You have the best hair! When u have day or two old hair do you still use heat and then put the velcro rollers in?

Kathy Monroe: Nikol you mentioned your mother has fine thin hair. And if she lives in Florida like you do, What happens when she walks outside? I live in Southwest FL and I always use the velcro rollers and my hair is full and beautiful and then I go outside, and it drops. I think to myself why did I waste my time!! Any products that u know of that protects from humidity? Thank you

DMUSE: I just commented about a hair volume video in a past video and guess what I found!!!! Yeayy!!!⭐

H P: Regarding the hair mist, does it conflict with your perfume scent, or do you just not wear any other scents?

Kandelika: Your glorious mane. I wish I could have half of it, love your hair (and your divine pink dress).

randi berger: Do you use the Olaplex oil only on your dry hair, not on wet hair?

Jordy S: Yeah but you have fabulous hair to begin with

Alma Ibarra: Thanks for sharing

Nancy Dietz: Oh that pink dress is awesome!! Just had to say it.

Vicky Vickery: Hello from Texas thanks for your videos

Paul Evans: The frizzy hair at the neckline and sideburns is actually lanugo hair. It’s the fine downie hair you see on a newborn. Hence the frizz. We all have it.

Susan Gallicchio: Do you do this everyday?

marlene kerrmarlene: your hair is the greatedt , love the velcro rollers too but think that sexy hair spray is so sticky

Lilyan Tomol: Nikol is there a hair spray for white hair

Susan Gallicchio: Do u color your hair?

Nena Garcia: Egad too much work!
