Valentines Day Protective Hairstyle Tutorial | Natural Hair

My hair - and I give you two different - looks that you can pull off on valentine's day and when i say looks i mean the change of top other than that. That being said, also follow me on instagram and twitter and let's just get into it, starting off with my hair already parted. I have my hair parted in five different sections. As you can see three four seven, my hair is already parted and clipped up, and then i have the back in its own little separate section. So, to start with the first section, really, i'm just gon na be braiding up all of these and i'm going to be using a little bit of the aloe gel moisturizer, as you can see it just a tiny bit on my roots and on my edges. Now. I'M just gon na brush it down just to make sure that i select down that area before i braid now, one tip i do sometimes, if my hair's really slicked down with product. I just use a rat tail comb to make the first few parts, and then i just braid: it's really that simple braiding can definitely take a while, especially if my hair is freshly detangled and i have product in it. So it's just best to take your time, especially if you want to have a nice clean look. The next step is to just braid your hair, all the way down to the end, and once that is officially done, you want to move on to your edges. Normally I wait until I finished every single section, but I really just wanted to give you a feel for how each section will look now. That section is nice and fresh it's time to move on to these top two quick and easy all done so now, I'm going to repeat the exact same steps. You saw that I did in the first section. I apply some of that gel moisturizer to my edges. Make sure that I have my hair, nice and slick down by brushing it, and then I'm just going to use my rat tail comb to just make the first few parts just to make sure that they're, nice and clean, and it's just easier for me to braid It that way, I don't do it all the time, but in this specific instance, I did now it's time to do the exact same thing on the previous side and lay down my edges. I'M gon na move on to the back here, I'm just detangling my hair and I'm just putting it in one braid, okay and I'm officially done with my hair. As you can see, I have done four braids right here and then in the back. What I did was just create one braid. If you want to see it, let me turn around, so what I will do is put this hair in a ponytail and then just let it sit when it's officially dry, I will take the braids down and it will be coming braids out in the back. I am back, and this is two days later when I braided my hair. Originally it was late at night and I was not gon na go to sleep or makeup on and I was not going to recreate the same. Look because I like to have different, looks and not that I just like to have different looks, but it's hard for me to recreate the same look twice, because my ideas keep flowing anyway. This is my hair. As you can see, I am only braiding D braiding. My hair up to the root of where you know the cornrow ends, and now all I'm doing is just putting it in a ponytail with a hair tie, nothing complicated, something very, very simple, and the next steps will be simple as well now, because this is two Days later - and I do have some friends in the front - I am just using the same aloe gel moisturizer, to lay down my edges and now, as you can see, I am just separating my ponytail just to give it a little bit more volume. You can use a pick if you want, I didn't feel it was necessary. Now my hair still looks a little frizzy in the front, so all I'm doing is just adding my scarf and leaving it on for a few minutes, and you will see the results. Okay, that is much better, so, as you guys saw when I was you know, taking my braids down, there was a lot of frizz, especially like right here. That'S all I can literally see so I just decided to just spritz my hair with water lay down as much of the sites as I can and even took some in with my rat tail comb, and then I just put my scarf on a good five minutes And this is what it's done if I would have left my scarf on longer. I know that my hair would have been laid literally, but you get the point. So this is the official finished. Look. You have a braid out in the back as far as this Valentine's Day. Lip goes, you do have the pink you can do something cute and casual. It doesn't have to be all bright red on Valentine's Day, but if you don't want to wear this kind of a denim shirt, let me give you a second option now. This is definitely the second option for you. All I did was just take off my denim shirt and I do on a poncho style, oversized cream sweater. I think this sweater definitely changes the vibe of the entire look. You just went from day to sort of like an evening attire and that's about it. Actually, after doing my hair and throwing on this top, I feel like this makeup, look, doesn't look as extravagant, as I thought.
