Hi! My name is Victoria and I am the natural hair blogger behind ClassyCurlies.com. Outside of blogging I am a full-time student studying journalism.

I am natural

What’s your story, how did you get to where you are?

I began my journey toward the end of 2009. I was interested in stretching out my relaxers because I noticed that my hair grew much faster.

A few months after I began researching how to transition and the “going natural” process. I was curious to see my natural pattern.

In May 2010 I began transitioning after my last relaxer. I did the big chop the following summer of 2011. Since then I have experimenting with different styles and products.

What is your typical weekly regimen?

I cleanse my hair once a week with a variety of products. I prepoo with aloe vera gel* on my scalp and a conditioner on my hair. From there I wash and condition, followed by a deep conditioner*.

Are you happy with your progress so far?

I am very happy with my progress. I always had shoulder length or longer hair so it is interesting to see it in its curly state.

What’s your signature style?

I absolutely love two-strand twists and twistouts!

How do you ensure that your ends are protected from the elements and your hands?

I wear my hair in two-strand twists often. I also pin my twists up often for an updo.

Do you have a goal length or are you more concerned about the health of your hair?

I am very concerned about keeping my hair healthy. Having healthy hair is my number one goal, however I have a length that I would like to achieve. I wish to reach bra strap length stretched and I am about 2-3 inches from reaching this goal!

Is there anything that you hair hates?

My hair does not like hard water. I am sure that no one’s hair likes hard water. It is sometimes hard to properly cleanse my hair with this issue.

Do you have any favorite hair products?

I love to Shea Moisture* brand of products. One of my new favorites is the As I Am Coconut Cowash*. Tresemme Naturals Conditioner* also has a special place in my heart.
