Gabrielle Union Says Her Hair Fell Out After Her Blonde Hair Stint In The Movie Top Five

Gabriel Union made an alarming confession the other day, she said that when she filmed the hit movie Top Five where she played Chris Rock’s reality star girlfriend, her hair fell out.

I say that it is surprising because I did not think she would bleach her own hair for a movie. In this day and age where you can add a full sew in weave* its beyond me why Gabriel would choose to bleach her own hair, risking any damage at all.

“I have dark hair, and the process to get it blonde [for the film] made my hair fall out,” “Some people gain weight for a role, I practically went bald for a role. I lost so much hair!”

Then she mentioned that after losing her hair the hubster wanted her to go back to black considering the damage that was done.

“once I went bald, he was like, ‘I’m ready for you to go back,”

Girl when you have so many flawless options there is no need to play hero for a movie, weave* that joint up and keep it moving. Maybe it was a requirement of the movie that she wear her own hair and wear it blonde.

I did take Gabrielle’s point into consideration where she suggested doing what you need to do for a role, like gaining weight or losing a dramatic amount in order to play a movie part well.

For some reason, even though I understand what she says I do not agree that this extends to hair when you have great options, but then again I am no actress and Hollywood is far from up the street.

Gabrielle will bounce back from this, as you remember she was on a hair journey and doing quite well at it. Maybe next time she will opt for a safer option.
