Use This Protein Treatment Before And After You Heat Style

Protein TreatmentWe are loving all of the straight styles we have been seeing online and on the various blogs. The stylist chair has been filled with women trying to get a break from their curly hair, wanting to take advantage of cooler temperatures that will allow for your heat styles to last.

Even though we are having fun with our hair and the versatility that it brings, making sure our strands do not suffer any damage is our number one priority.

With that said these days protein is high on our list for maintaining health while using heat and we thought we would introduce you to a simple recipe that can give your hair enough protein to withstand any damage.

What you will need

2 eggs

Mayonnaise – Enough for consistency

3 table spoons of honey*

Directions

Mix all of your ingredients very well until you get a creamy texture to your conditioner. Divide your hair into at least five sections to ensure that the conditioner covers every strand. Once you are satisfied with coverage, cover with a plastic cap for at least 30 minutes.

You can even opt to add a heat cap just to make sure everything gets settled in on your strands. We guarantee that your hair will feel much stronger and have a natural shine that is absolutely unreal.

The protein molecules in this mix are way too big to penetrate the strands however they will repair the outer layer of each strand of hair giving your curl enough structure to clump and curl the way it should.

We recommend doing  a protein treatment before you flat iron* your hair and after you flat iron* to get your hair back to normal avoiding damage.

If you have minimal heat damage, doing regular protein treatments can improve your curl pattern however if your hair is very damaged the only thing your can do is trim off the damaged ends and reduce the amount of heat you are using on your hair.
