Easy DIY Holiday Pumpkin Hair Mask Recipe For Dry Hair

PUMPKIN MASK

Winter is really beginning to show itself here on the East Coast! If you’re from a place where the winter is outrageous, then you already know what that means for your clothes, your skin, and your hair. Harsh, cold winds can really wreck havoc on our tresses, leaving them much drier than normal.

Well, if you’re looking to combat this winter dryness, and you’re looking for a new recipe, this is for you! This pumpkin recipe is especially great for those who love pumpkin spice season.

Who knew that besides being a delicious holiday staple to many, pumpkin also had a ton of other great benefits? If you like to eat pumpkin, then you’re getting important Vitamins* A & C, as well as potassium* and fiber. For your curls, pumpkin has amazing moisturizing properties!

What you will need:

Pumpkin Puree
Coconut* Oil
Honey*
*When making your mixture, create your own measurements. You may not need a lot of pumpkin puree if you have fine or short hair*

We already know that coconut oil* is amazing for hair, since it adds shine and helps to strengthen our strands. It’s also one of the very few oils that can really penetrate our hair follicles. For ladies that don’t like coconut oil*, you may be able to swap for another oil of your choice (like EVOO).

Honey, on the other hand, is a natural humectant. This means that it adds and pulls water to itself. You can’t get much more moisturizing than that! Also, if you are a vegan, you can replace honey* with vegetable glycerin.

What to do:

Simply combine your three ingredients in a bowl. Apply your mixture to clean, detangled hair. Let it sit for the normal wait time of a deep conditioner* (around 30 minutes to an hour), then wash out. Perfect!

We love this recipe because it’s super effective and easy to make! If you’re a pumpkin fan, we’re sure you’ll love it too! What’s your favorite DIY recipe?
