How To Do A Chic and Elegant Flat Twist Pompadour Pinup On Natural Hair

The year is closing out and the last of the holidays are finally here! Which means there are a million company parties, family gatherings, and New Year’s Eve events for you to attend so you must rise to the occasion and end this year looking a little more fabulous than usual.

Cute buns, blown out hair, and super defined twist outs are all great styles if you’re going for a sweet and simple holiday hairstyle. On the other hand, some of us are going for a more glamorous updo that looks extravagant but is actually still really easy to achieve.

Natural hair vlogger KayDee TV did a great tutorial showing us how to mold chunky flat twists into a voluminous pompadour. She puts her own spin on a classic natural hairstyle–making it ideal and fitting for any event or setting.

You won’t need much for this tutorial! Just make sure you have an oil and/or cream to keep your hair hydrated and a few bobby pins* to secure the style. It would also help to have your hair stretched or blown out to achieve this stylish pompadour.

Personally, I love this look because it is very versatile and can be tweaked or changed around to fit your personal taste. When wearing a pompadour, I like to add vintage hair brooches and pins to add to the already classic feel of the look. I also think curling or doing a twist out on the top portion of my hair before clipping it back modernizes the look a little bit.

Don’t be afraid to sport this style without manipulating your natural hair texture or curl pattern at all because it can really add to the uniqueness of it and is great styling practice if you are still learning how to work your natural hair.

So no matter what your style may be, KayDee TV offers up another great hairdo for you to add to your vault!
