5 Benefits Of Buying A High Quality Wig

@aprillacewigFor the past couple of months I’ve been on the fence about purchasing a high quality wig. When I say high quality, I’m referring to a virgin, or human hair wig, versus a synthetic wig.

I love protective styling, and my style of choice since I’ve gone natural has been crochet braids, and occasionally I’ll switch it up in between appointments and throw on a wig*, out of convenience.

However, the issue I had with my synthetic wigs were that they would get matted quickly, and just all around dull, and you couldn’t wash them. So, last month after doing some research I finally decided to buy my first high quality wig and here are some of the benefits that I have experienced so far:

1. It’s an investment.

High quality wigs* can range anywhere from 200 and up, depending on the type and length, etc, unlike other protective styles where you pay a low price for the hair, or like synthetic wigs, and even the installation, if you are getting braids or a weave*. With a high quality wig* you are paying this price one time. If you take care of the wig it can last as long as two years.

2. It’s washable

Since the wigs are human hair, they can be treated as such- which means washed! This was huge for me. I used to hate when my synthetic wigs got oily, and limp because that meant it was almost time to toss them. With high quality wigs, you can wash them like you would your natural hair, and it will be as good as new again.

3. More realistic appearance

Human hair wigs, naturally will usually look more realistic and natural than synthetic wigs simply because the hair is real, and not synthetic. You can curl human hair wigs* just as you would your natural hair, whereas synthetic hair will burn if you apply heat to it.

4. Save money

The great thing about having a high quality wig is that I no longer have to pay the expensive cost of purchasing hair for a sew in PLUS the cost to install it. I can install the wig myself, since its glue less, and it only takes a few seconds.

5. No more bad hair days

These wigs always look good, and it can be a go to style if you need a quick backup plan after waking up and realizing your twist out isn’t completely dry!

Have you invested in a great wig lately?
