People Magazine Got Dragged For Crediting Blac Chyna’s Bantu Knots To Bjork

Black ChynaBy now you have probably seen Blac Chyna’s soon to be known as Angela Kardashian (sips tea), Bantu Knots. The style was gorgeous and when I tell you it was shared everywhere, I mean it was shared everywhere.

I loved the style but one has to wonder what all the fuss was about, I mean we have all been doing Bantu knots for years, so whats the big deal?

If I were to take a stab at the reason behind the excitement I would say it is because these days more black women are starting to wear the style out and about, appreciating it for its rich history and African roots.

If I were to take a second stab at it, I would say that it is because its Blac Chyna who has been in the news lately due to her relationship with Rob Kardashian and the fact that they recently announced their engagement and potential name change to Kardashian.

In anticipation of the only black Kardashian who can legitimately wear cornrows and Bantu knots without backlash, these are exciting times.

Along the same lines People Magazine decided to get some attention yesterday by crediting Chyna’s knots to the Bantu knots to Bjork… yes girl! Bjork!

You know black twitter went nuts and gave People Magazine just what they were looking for, some good ole negative attention which always turns into a financial boost even with them being dragged through the muddy waters of Twitter accountability. Here was the infamous tweet that was taken down in enough time to get a few dollars.
people magazine tweetYou see I am starting to believe that mainstream media knows better and they do what they can to get attention even if it is a good ole drag. At the end of the day, they have their audience who will always support them regardless if they mention the word Bantu in the same sentence as Bjork.

Or maybe it could be that they are just that clueless and cannot for even a split second give credit where credit is due! I will allow you to decide, but while you are doing that, are you loving Angela K’s knots or what!?
