How To Hide A Bald Spot Or Thinning Edges Using Temporary Spray On Color

The other afternoon as I was patiently sitting down getting my hair done, an older woman came into the salon to talk to one of the stylists and thank her for what she had done to her hair earlier and to give her an extra tip.

I looked up and saw that her hair was fly, then looked back at the book that I was reading. However, my attention piqued when I heard the woman state that she was so happy that the stylist told her about edge spray.

After she said that, I then took another glance and really couldn’t tell that her edges were sprayed on. I too thought about giving the stylist a tip, because from what the customer said, she had no edges as far back to her ears, but you couldn’t even tell.

When I got home I immediately told my friends and family about this new revelation, because I really just couldn’t believe how cool it was! So many people draw on their eyebrows, so why didn’t I think that you could simply spray on your edges if you are lacking in the ‘edge’ department.

So, if you’re reading this and wondering how the stylist filled in the client’s lack of edges, follow these steps:

1. Style

Style your hair as usual, which means that your thinned edges or bald spot will most likely be visible. For the style that the woman in the salon had, she had a high bun with ghana braids going up around the sides to form a bun.

2. Grab Color

In order to “spray on edges” you’ll need to go to your local beauty supply store and buy a can of temporary hair color in a spray bottle. You should hold the bottle about 5 inches away from your hair and then spray directly only the spots that are lacking hair.

3. Blend

Since the spray will be wet, it will look shiny. So before blending you should let it dry for a few seconds. If you want it to look more natural you can use your finger to blend the color into your natural hair with your finger, and then let it dry some more.

4. Add Gel

After it dries you can add your favorite gel to slick down your edges and also hold the color in place.
