Beauty Vlogger Exposes Wig Company For Using Her Picture To Sell Their Wigs
This story is so sad and hilarious at the same time I do not even know where to start. Beauty vlogger Alexandria Nicole recently came public with a common problem that many vloggers deal with on a daily basis.
Her picture was stolen by a website, dresslily.com to be exact, and used to sell a wig*. Clearly, Alexandria does not wear a wig nor did she give them permission to use her photograph to sell anything on their website.
This is what she posted on her website:
A few days ago, I received a DM from one of my followers on Instagram informing me of an ad that had been running on her timeline. My selfie from January of this year was there, big as day, above the Dresslily.com online store name and the words “Synthetic Wig”.
Wait, HUH?! I don’t wear wigs* and have NEVER authorized use of my image to sell one. (I mean, why would I?!) I then took matters into my own hands and sent Dresslily a very stern yet peaceful email requesting my picture be taken down immediately. I then received a message saying they were going to investigate. You all have been sent my original image from 8 months ago along side your synthetic wig* ad. Investigate what exactly?
But wait there’s more!
After she was given the run around she received an email from the company saying that they ‘fixed’ the issue. Ya’ll I kid you not when I saw how they fixed the picture I legit busted out laughing. I felt bad because all this is at Alexandria’s expense, but the absolute gall of that company was enough to make anyone just cry laughing.

They literally cut out Alex’s face replaced it with another woman’s face and left her head and hair intact. What in the entire heck was that? And how is that fixing the issue?
This is so beyond wrong we are wondering who is running the circus over there at that company and on average how many times have they tricked their customers out of their hard earned money? Alexandria confirmed that the picture was seen on other affiliated websites but has since been deleted:
The picture has since been deleted after a few more emails and a promise of legal action (that usually does the trick). Though I have still received texts and DM’s from friends and followers about a new ad still out there. Sigh. There was also 3 other websites running the same ad. This led me to believe that they’re all affiliated somehow.
We are so sorry Alexandria had to deal with this and we are hoping it never happens again! What a hilarious nightmare! SMH
