4 Expensive Hair Items You Can Find Discounted

The saying, “you get what you pay for” comes to mind when you think of certain hair products and tools. Ever tried the cheap shampoo and got out of the shower with your hair feeling like squeaky straw? Yeah, that can happen when you skimp of the good hair products.

There are times when cutting costs works, but don’t sacrifice healthy hair just for the sake of penny pinching. With a little digging, you can still find high-cost hair products and tools that are usually worth their price tag, at a reduced price. Research and a bit of shopping around are all it takes for you to get the swanky hair care items your hair will love you for.

If you want to skip the shopping around and research steps mentioned above, you can head into your local department store outlets and walk out feeling pretty confident that you have gotten some good deals.

Stores like Ross, Marshalls and Home Goods are the places to hit up. The only thing to be aware of is that the inventory isn’t always guaranteed. You may still have to hit up a couple different locations to get your hands on exactly what you’re looking for.

It’s easy enough to stop by one near your job or school and then one near your house. Let’s get into the list of four expensive hair items you can find discounted.

Generic Virgin Oils

Be it coconut*, olive* or jojoba*, oils are an essential part of a healthy hair regimen. Oils* and water are two of the most basic ways to ensure that your hair receives the moisture it needs to thrive.

Virgin oils are even better for your hair as they are not been as heavily processed. Because of this, virgin oils* will run you a few bucks more at the register. Most grocery stores are hip to the generic game and offer their own virgin oils that boast similar or identical ingredients as the higher priced brand ones.

However, if you want to get the brand name virgin oil of your choice, you can still get your hands on them for a cost that is less than what it would be in a non-outlet type chain. Another good thing about buying virgin oils from these retailers is that they carry the larger sized bottles for such a good price.

If you haven’t already, check them out.

A good flat iron* with plates made of materials that are better for your hair can be very expensive. Walking into Ulta, you’re sure to find more choices of flat irons* than you know what to do with. But if you purchase one with titanium or tourmaline plates, will pay full retail price for it.

Mosey on over to one of the stores mentioned above, and you can get a flat iron* with the same plates, for half the price, maybe less. They carry a range of different sizes and colors as well. And don’t misinterpret this to mean that you have to settle for a knock-off or generic brand. Not at all. They carry the good stuff. Most of the more popular brands can be found on their shelves.

TIGI Bedhead Products

TIGI Bedhead products are very good products. If you’ve ever looked into purchasing them, you know that they’re also not cheap. Their conditioner is a fan fave. Since they pulled it from their line and then began producing it again, it can be somewhat hard to find.

When you do find it, you will pay much more than you would for most other conditioners. That is unless you hit up the outlet department stores. I’ve always been able to find their moisturizing conditioner* and their other products for a reduced price. If you are a fan of TIGI the brand, you should definitely look into buying the products from these retailers.

CHI Hair Styling Products

CHI is another brand that makes great products and tools that come with a matching high price point. From their super popular heat stylers to their serums and heat protectants, they are a brand found under many bathroom sinks and in many salons.

Their silk infusion serum comes in a very, very small sized bottle that holds less than 3 ounces of product. And even with that little product, it can cost upwards of $20.00, depending on where you purchase it.

The product does perform well and it holds up to the claims the company makes about what it does. Being able to find it for half that price is still not the most advantageous cost/benefit purchase you could get, but if you look at just the cost savings compared to a full priced purchase, you can see the huge difference.

Hopefully, this helps ease the strain on your purse when it comes to high-cost hair items and products.
