Sporting A Twa? Here Are Ways To Jazz Up Your Look This Season

The holidays have galloped on rather quickly but with New Year’s Eve around the corner, the festivities still linger in the air. You still have a few meet and greets so you still wanna LOOK fly. Teeny weeny afros can sometimes be a bit bewildering to new naturals since it is often believed that there is not much you can do with short hair; however, the TWA stage of your hair journey can be used to experiment fierce dos that show a different side to your personality. Here are a few options you can try that will not damage your hair in the process:

► If you are sporting a TWA infuse some fiery jazz into your style with the vibrant reds and lush browns of henna*. Henna is the natural dye that fortifies the hair by filling in gaps in the cortex, while bestowing brilliant tones so if you are into coloring your hair it is one of the safest routes to go.

► Do a sexy edgy tapered cut that places emphasis on the features of your face; bold colored lips, shimmering eyes and majestic cheekbones all come to life with a little make-up and a bombing tapered cut. Tapered cuts allow you to shape your TWA with some sections shorter than some. The beauty about tapered cuts is that some sections can be fashioned into elongated curls or spikes while the other sections can be laid. You could even choose to get patterned razor line-ups or fades in the back or at the sides to add some personality to your TWA.

► Wash and goes have been the obvious option for many new naturals at the TWA stage. These are still a very viable option since they allow for easy styling that is still trendy.

► Finger coils can be a fun artsy way to style your TWA and it can last for weeks. One of the beauties of this style is that it can help you tuck away your ends and limit manipulation, so go ahead and give it a go.

► Pin curl sets are quite retro but are still cute and stylish if done right, so do not hesitate to try and see how it all turns out.

► Faux buns and tufts are also very chic and can be rocked by the fashionista in you. So perhaps you are thinking you cannot possibly pack three inches of hair into a high bun or a twisted bun. Think again!

You make that much more of a statement with an eye-catching TWA which may be simply styled and accentuated by the right accessories, so put your bombing scarves, earrings and bows to work.
