Everything You Need To Know About The Tapered Cut - 3 Versions

Every time we hit Pinterest up to check out the new styles women are doing there are some super sexy tapered cuts that we cannot pass up when pinning. We have even shared a couple on facebook and these styles get some serious likes. With that said we thought it would be fun to talk a little bit about the tapered cut as a great option if you want to style your TWA or medium length hair.

So what is a tapered cut you ask? Well it is kind of a fade some more extreme than others, but its a hair cut that leaves more hair on the top than at your sides and nape area. Some cuts are done where your hair gets progressively shorter from top to bottom, others are more extreme with the hair is left very heavy at the top and the rest of the hair fully shaved, not bald but pretty low. To be honest we can also show you better than we can describe it so check out BeautyCutright as she tapers her natural hair:

Styling your tapered cut is pretty awesome too, there are a ton of styles you can try but most are centered around the heaviest portion of the style, the top. The first example we have is Jouelzy who straightened the top portion of her 4C hair giving her tapered cut some serious edge.

Check out the video below:

We aren’t done yet, obviously a tapered cut does not mean you have to use heat all the time as you will shortly see, but it does show the versatility that you can have. However here is yet another style done on a tapered cut where MissKenK decided to keep her natural curls and do a flat twist out on her hair.

This woman will make you want to cut your hair if you watch even a few of her videos and this style was really cute, check it out below:

Well that’s it, if you are thinking about getting a tapered cut, we say go for it, the hair cut is really cute and it can really switch things up for you if you are looking for a change or some edge. Don’t forget that you can always go to the barbershop and get a few lines and designs on the sides too we have seen some that are jaw dropping gorgeous!

Would you try the tapered cut on your natural hair?
