How To Style And Care For Your TWA

keepitpoppin

Twa styling seems simple enough right? After all its just about 2 inches of hair on average, that cant be hard, just wash and go. Well if you have less than an inch of hair, maybe things are super easy but as your hair grows, you might have a little bit of maintenance to do to make sure your hair remains healthy.

I love MsVCharles because she has mastered her own TWA for the second time and she shows us how she styles her TWA and even though it is not very hard there is some technique to it.

Before we get into the videos though we have a few tips you can use to keep that TWA on point:

1. Moisturize every day

A TWA needs moisture and alot of it, because your hair is so short it drys out more easily than if your hair was longer. Try spraying your hair with Aloe Vera Juice* mixed with a little water or use water based products to keep your hair feeling supple.

2. Seal

Sealing is something we all do at any stage so while you are rocking a TWA its time to start practicing. Choose your favorite oil, you will notice that Vee uses olive oil* in he video demonstration but you can choose whatever oil you want. Use the oil after you moisturize your hair with water of whatever product you choose.

3. Clarify

You can get caught up in a cycle of cowashing and not realize the amount of buildup you can get from using a ton of conditioner either daily or every few days. You can go all natural and use apple cider vinegar* to clarify your scalp or you can invest in a great clarifying shampoo* just to reset your scalp and get rid of gunk

4. Style creative

Don’t fall in a rut of the same style daily. As your hair grows experiment with parts, accessories, flowers, naked hair anything that switches things up keeping you actively enjoying your TWA. Invest in a few hats too, when your hair gets longer you might not wear hats as much but with a TWA you can really funk things up with a cool hat.
