A Fly Spring Or Summer Hairstyle For Natural Hair

I have been going through a lot of YouTube videos and the many blogs that I follow; trying to find a new hairstyle that is both quick and easy yet super chic and sexy. I am not a fan of spending hours trying to get a great sleek hairstyle with my natural hair, so my go to style has been the braid-out because it is easy and I have that style down pat.

I was bored though and wanted something new but easy and while going through my YouTube feeds I saw this super cute Spring/Summer natural hair tutorial from TheChicNatural  that I just had to try. I love this girl her styles are always simple and chic and this one certainly did not disappoint.

This hairstyle is a simply sleek bun with a fun curly side bang. It’s a great hairstyle for special events and even work or school. I tried this hairstyle recently and loved how easy and quick it was to achieve. You can even find ways to stretch this style for a couple of days by just adding rollers to the bangs, and wearing a satin scarf to bed.

In the tutorial TheChicNatural used Entwine hair care products but you can use products you already have at home. She started off on super stretched hair which can be achieved  by blow-drying on low heat or by using the Hair Banding technique.

Hair banding is one way to achieve the look of a heat free blow out, but if you install chunky braids at night to prevent your hair from shrinking then your hair should already be stretched enough for this style.

Tools you will need:

►Moisturizer to get your hair nice and soft before styling

►Gel or styling product to keep your ponytail neat

►Sock bun or donut ring to make a nice full bun, scrunci or hair tie

►Bobby Pins* to secure the bun

►Magnetic rollers* that suit your hair’s length

►Oil for shine and sealing

►Hooded dryer* for a quick dry or you can choose to air dry
