Blend Natural Roots with Lace Closure

Sometimes rocking our hair out can get a little tiresome. Weaves* and wigs are great alternatives to wearing our hair out for a few reasons:

►Great protective style

►Can last for weeks/months

►Low manipulation to our actual hair

►Can provide a fun and different look

If you decide to take the route of investing in a wig, then you have already done the majority of the work. Simply prep your hair by putting them into braids and then put the wig on top. The hardest part of wearing a lace wig, or a weave with a lace closure* is blending your natural roots with the rest of the hair.

What You Need:

►Eco Styler gel* (or any gel you have)

►Old Pantyhose, T-shirt, or scarf

►Toothbrush

►Bobby Pins*

Simply take a little bit of Eco Styler gel* and use it to gel down those edges. Take the toothbrush and use it to make sure that your edges are smooth. This is the time to shape your hair in the direction you want it to be in. The next step is to put on the t-shirt strip, scarf or pantyhose around your edges to keep them smooth.

I recommend using a separate scarf for the rest of your hair, just so that you can make sure that your edges are down and secure. You can leave on the scarf for as long as you want, but you should wear it for at least an hour. This will ensure that your natural roots blend into the lace closure* and it looks realistic.

When you’re ready, take off the scarf and adjust the wig if you need to by pushing it forward. Lift each side one at a time and secure the lace wig by pinning it down with a bobby pin. Not only will your edges be laid, but you won’t have to worry about the wig flying off at any time.

Blending your natural roots with your wig or lace closure* doesn’t require any heat but it will give you a more realistic look for however long you decide to protective style.
