Classic Lauryn Hill Inspired Hair Tutorial

03

The Fugees. You say that name and without a doubt everyone will know who you are talking about. While the group as a whole had a big impact on hip hop music, it was Lauryn Hilll who really made the group shine. I mean come on, there were no female rappers out at that time who sang and created smooth rhymes at the same time.

To put the cherry on top of that, Lauryn Hill also has a gorgeous head full of natural  hair that she was totally proud of before many of us were even thinking about it. From her luscious locs to her two strand twists, these styles inspired a good handful of women to return to their natural roots.

While she had many beautiful hairstyles, one of my personal favorites were the pin curled twist/locs that she rocked. To me, that hairstyle looked so regal and truly made her look like a queen.

When I went natural , I tried to duplicate it on my own but had no luck until I found the tutorial online via hair guru and Saleemah Cartwright of Hydratherma Naturals. I thought that she did an awesome job with duplicating this hairstyle and every time I watch this tutorial, it reminds me of how much I love this style. If you want to give it a shot, keep on reading!

Hair Length Required: In this video, Saleemah’s hair is around medium to long , but this style can work on pretty much any length as long as you have enough hair to two strand twist. It may turn out slightly different depending on how long, short, thick, or thin your hair is.
