Chunky Twistout on Short Natural Hair

Have you ever been on Tumblr or Pinterest, and  stumbled upon a picture of a beautiful woman with a bangin’ Chunky Twist-Out that you just wanted to cut and paste, and put it on your own head? I know I have.

Now before you say anything, I absolutely love my hair,  but there are some nights when I just do not feel like styling it. I wish I could do exactly what I said above, and just wake up in the morning with insta-hair.

I recently big chopped, and at this point I have ’round 3-4 inches of hair to work with. I was thinking, ‘What is a cute style I can do often that is really quick?’ This seems to be the question for a lot of us naturals when we are approaching the in-between stages – am I right? So I went on the hunt for YouTube videos, and what did I find? A Chunky Twist-out on short hair. The hair gods have spoken.

I was so excited that I had to share it with you guys! In this video, Carmen of the YouTube channel MyNaturalSistas shares with us her chunky Twist-Out on short hair. What I really like about this video is that she encourages ladies that think that their hair is too short to give it a try anyway, which is very inspiring.

Hair Length Required: Even though this style is done on short hair , this style can easily be done on medium and longer lengths. It also can be achieved on transitioning and relaxed hair as well.

Products Used

Moisturizer: In this video, Carmen uses Carols’ Daughter Loc Butter on damp hair. You do not necessarily have to use this moisturizer. You can easily replace this with your favorite moisturizer and/or styler.
