Weave Specialist Reniece Shares Her Blow Dry Technique For Natural Hair

hqdefault

I am beyond excited, so excited that I almost couldn’t even type this post. So you may wonder “Danni, why are you so excited?” Well, I am excited because Reniece, a.k.a. “The Weave Specialist”, has recently put up a YouTube video of her infamous blow-drying technique. Now you may be wondering “Who is this Reniece, and why is her technique so darn special?” Well, let me share with you all a little bit of info about her.

Reniece started off as most of us did on our healthy hair journey – with damaged hair, trying to learn how to obtain healthy hair. After being on Longhaircareforum.com, she not only gained the knowledge of how to take care of her relaxed hair (which she grew from a damaged shoulder length to mid back length), but she also eventually transitioned to natural hair, and grew her natural hair to waist length within 4 years.

She did this through weaves, which she is infamous for being the best at doing. Many women, both relaxed and natural, overbook her salon every year just to have an appointment with her. Why? Because through her knowledge of healthy hair care and great styling skills, she is one of the very few hair stylists that actually put health before styling, and she can make ANY HAIR TYPE look absolutely flawless and silky when she does a blow dry and flat iron*. If you don’t believe me, check out her “Real Black Hair Showcase” video here:

If you ladies had a chance to watch the video above, then you’ll know why I was so excited to share this video with you guys. So without further ado…

The Products That Were Used:

Deep Conditioner– In the video she uses her own deep conditioner*, but you can use whatever deep conditioner* that you like.

Heat Protectant* – Keracare’s Strengthening Thermal Protectant, or any heat protectant* that you prefer.

Wide Tooth Comb*.

Andis Ceramic Ionic 1875 Watt Blowdryer.

5-row Denman Brush*.

Hair Length Needed:

Any length which is 5 inches and over should work for this blowdry technique. This technique can work with not only just  natural hair, but with relaxed and transitioning hair as well. This blow dry technique also works with the whole spectrum of curl patterns as well.

In the video, she uses a technique which is similar to the tension method. But she advises that you do this method on freshly shampooed and conditioned hair to get the best results. In the video below, she demonstrates her blow dry technique. This video is a two-in-one (in the beginning she talks about Lupus Awareness), so if you would like to skip that part, her blow-dry technique starts at 1:21.

Well that’s it guys, hope you like!
