A few Options For Styling Your Box Braids

maxresdefault

Some of us have decided that braids are the way to go this holiday season, but styling them might still be a problem. Because braids are considered a style themselves, and they are literally individual pieces of hair, you might find it hard to get creative with them.

The truth is, inspiration is all around us and styling box braids can be just as fun as styling loose natural hair, straight hair, twists or locs. The braids will give you a different look – that’s for sure – so now is the time to do more than just the usual with your new protective style.

Nobody wants to wear just a boring ponytail everyday, especially since there are actually several styles you can achieve with braid extensions*. In the video below the youtuber shares 8 styles she does with her box braids in 4 minutes.

The key to styling is to keep it simple but also do not be afraid to do the same things you would do if you were working with loose natural hair. In other words if you do an updo, the technique is the same, but the look is dramatically different.

If you watched the video and you still want to try something else, we have two more styles that might work that are my personal favorites. The first one is a goddess braid done by @kyssmyhair, pictured below. The style is basically a flat twist turned into a updo crown and though super simple it looks super chic as well, check it out below:

The second style is by the one and only Priscilla Rossi and it is the simplest updo that starts out with a high pony tail and three separate braids. The style is pictured below and it is pretty easy to follow and too cute for words.

Well, there you have it; what are your favorite braided styles?
