3 Styling Tutorials That Can Help You To Style Your New TWA

Fotor0101422393Hey, girl, so I hear you are new to this natural thing? Did you just do The Big Chop? I bet you are freaking out about what to do next. Well not to worry, if you need some hair styling tips dealing with that TWA (Teeny Weeny Afro), we have you covered.

Some of us feel a bit self conscious about our TWA, especially if we are not used to short hair, so the first thing we will say is don’t be ashamed of it. It can actually be the easiest and best part of your natural journey. For one, it doesn’t take much product or detangling, and that makes things so simple for your first year – so enjoy it while it lasts.

Even with that said, styling might still be a challenge, so I compiled three styling videos you can use to give you a couple ideas. Here is the first one:

1. Beauty By Lee

Lee has a super simple routine that involves defining her curls and allowing them to take there own shape while drying. Don’t fight your curls, let them do what they want.

2. J Mayo

The thing about this blonde bombshell is again the simplicity of her styling. You literally have to figure out what works for you. Maybe it’s just a deep side part or a few waves here and there; experiment with your hair until you are feeling it.

3.Paville Aldridge

This beauty (with her 4c hair) tells you one of her go-to ways to style her tapered TWA. Getting a tapered cut when you have TWA is a great way to add some flare to your TWA. Just have fun with your hair at this stage!

One of things we definitely recommend is getting a barber to hook you up when you first get your TWA. They can make sure your lines are clean, do neat designs on your head (if you are into that), and just help you keep your shape overall.

Well that’s it – let us know if you are rocking a TWA and how you style it below.
