Easy Overnight Wash and Go For Natural Hair

Easy Overnight Wash and Go For Natural Hair

I don’t know about you, but I’m a Wash ‘n’ Go girl. I’m normally too lazy to do any other styles to my hair, so I wash it, and leave the house. However, sometimes our Wash ‘n’ Go’s take longer than we expected, especially in the morning. Here’s a simple fix to getting the perfect overnight Wash ‘n’ Go:

What You Need:

Leave in Conditioner

Oil

Styler

T-shirt

Shower Cap*

Begin this style on freshly washed hair. Use an old T-shirt to dry your hair and squeeze out excess water after washing. It’s best to use a t-shirt to avoid excess frizz that can come from drying your hair with a towel. This style should be done on damp hair, and your hair will remain damp because this doesn’t take too long!

Separate your hair into four sections so that it’s easier to manage and detangle. Apply your leave in conditioner* to the first section and finger detangle your hair fully. In the video I use Cantu Conditioning Repair cream, but you can use any leave in conditioner* you prefer. After applying the cream, seal your hair with an oil of your choice. These are the first two steps of the LOC method. After applying, retwist your hair. This doesn’t have to be a neat or perfect twist, because the definition won’t be as pronounced the next morning. Repeat these steps for the other three sections. Afterwards, put on a shower cap* and a satin bonnet* then hit the sheets!

The next day, take down each twist and apply your cream or styler (which is the third step in your LOC Method). Fluff your hair a little to your desired volume and you’re done! Your hair will still be a little damp at this point, but depending on the length it should dry almost immediately. After attempting this, my hair air dried in about 15-20 minutes. If your hair is shorter or longer, then adjust your time accordingly.

This style is so great because you’re moisturizing your hair and styling at the same time! The curls may be a little more elongated than normal. You also don’t have to do too much to achieve this style, nor do you need a whole stash of products. This is perfect for anybody that’s short on time and it’s also great for any time of the year.
