How To Henna Gloss Your Hair

The other day I did a short post on how to henna your hair complete with video tutorial. Well I wanted to follow that video up with a tutorial on the henna gloss.

Doing a henna gloss is my preferred method of henna because for me it is way easier to rinse out. To do a henna gloss all you need is your henna mix and your favorite moisturizing conditioner*.

Why would you choose to do a henna gloss

Henna can be very drying so when you add conditioner to the mix the conditioner helps to maintain some moisture in your hair. Since the mixture is so much easier to apply and rinse out you will be more inclined to use henna* more often in your routine.

How to mix and apply your henna gloss

To do your henna* gloss you will need to make your henna mix 24 hours before and then add the conditioner to that mix.

Read this post for details on how to mix your henna. When you are adding conditioner to your mix just add enough to make the mixture smooth.

Apply the mix to your hair in sections and pin the sections up for a few hours worth of conditioning. In the video YouTuber Fresh Lengths wraps her hair in saran wrap. You can do that as well or you can just cover with a plastic cap and a towel.

Once your allotted deep conditioning* time is over wash out your henna gloss and followup with a 20 minute deep condition if your hair feels a bit dry.

Henna is awesome if you are that girl wanting thickness and strength back in your strands. The weight of henna can stretch your hair a bit, so if you have fine strands and you do not want that effect then henna might not be an option for you.
