Try This Homemade Apple Cider Vinegar Mix To Detangle Your Hair

flytrap-vinegar1Do you need a simple  detangler that you can probably find right downstairs in your kitchen? Many of us have Apple cider vinegar* somewhere, if we aren’t using it in our hair we are taking shots of it in the morning for that instant alkaline cleanse. If you aren’t doing shots, you need to get on that!

About the detangler, some women use it before they condition, right after they shampoo others use it before they shampoo, you can figure out the best time for yourself, for the purpose of this post however we would suggest after you shampoo.

What you will need?

This one is super simple, you will need a spray bottle that holds about 8 oz of liquid, 1/3  ACV and distilled water to complete the mix.

After you shampoo spray the mix thoroughly all over your hair and then add your conditioner to start your conditioning process. Detangle using your fingers or detangling tools, you should notice that detangling is a whole lot smoother for you.

Once you have detangled, rinse as usual, apply your leave in and then style. Some women spray on the mix again before their final rinse in cold water.

How does ACV work for detangling

Apple Cider Vinegar*  smooths your strands laying the cuticles down which helps the hair to separate a lot easier than it would if the cuticles were up.

Now some of us, myself included do not really like the smell of ACV on the hair, to eliminate the smell all you need is a little of your favorite oil. I find that grape seed oil  neutralizes the smell of the ACV after you are done detangling.

If you use the rinse right after your shampoo before your conditioner, you wont have a problem with the smell as most likely your conditioner will take care of it for you.

Have you ever used ACV as a detangler before, share your experience below!
