How To Make A Bun With Your Cosplay Wig

I needed to make a bun for a cosplay I'm working on, so I thought "Why not make it a tutorial?". This bun is made using the sock bun method. The wig used is Jasmine in the color Titanium by Arda Wigs. This wig was constructed to be in a ponytail.

Okay, I'm going to do a quick tutorial on how to put your cosplay wig in a bun, I'm going to be using the sock, bun method - and this is the jasmine wig in titanium from our toe wigs you're, going to need a sock kind of a longer Sock, this is a knee-high sock that I cut the toe off and a little bit of the top off, because it was a little long and then you're just gon na roll it in on itself. So there will be a hole in the center for your hair to go through and with this wig I had to thin it considerably. It was huge, so I just thinned it and this created layers and I'll show you how to work with layers in your wig. When you're doing a sock, bun because can be a little difficult, it's kind of like your natural hair would be, I guess so you're going to take the pony tail of your wig and push it through the hole of your sock and just the top part. It doesn't have to be the very very tips because then it would just be impossible, but try to go as far as you are comfortable with and then you're just gon na push the hair through the bottom of the sock and just push it up. As you can see here now is gon na look sloppy. You see how it looks like crap right now. Basically, as you go, you're gon na be smoothing it and tucking things under just because when I fin it, it created layers, and that's just how it is you can see. I put my thumb's at the bottom and push up through the hole um and then I'm just smoothing it out, because it's gon na look like crap for a little bit, and you can also this way have your thumbs in the center push out um. It'S a lot doing the sock bun on cosplay, thankfully, is a lot easier than doing on your own hair, because you don't have to hold your arms up and you can move around the whole wig and things like that. It will get harder to push through the closer you get to the ponytail holder because the wig is thicker up there. So it's having some problems trying to get it out, but just you know pushing it'll, definitely resist, because cosplay would carriers a lot thicker than my hair or any hair I've dealt with so um once you think you've gotten hit, you know you can you can move Around the wig and just push push push um. You know this doesn't look amazing, but you know I'm fixing it I'm adjusting things. You know tucking it and just push it out until it looks round and as close to the base of the ponytail holder um, you know and then once you've got the shape you want and the closeness you want fix. It fix the stuff, that's sticking out and then you're going to hairspray and just hairspray it like crazy um. Thankfully cosplay hair can take hairspray very well, it's kind of like an adhesive, so just kind of get the shape. You want it and then just go out with a hair spray. I use a tan sock, so it wouldn't come through. If I use the black sock, you would be able to see the sock through the hair and that wouldn't be good, so pick a sock color. That'S close to your weight, hair, color and it'll be a lot more successful, and this is a cosplay bun with the sock, bun method, and I hope this helps. If it's the wig is too thick, you might want to practice a couple times you're going to have to thin it out, because otherwise you won't be able to push the hair through. So I hope this helped thanks everyone. You
