Okay, so whenever you hear me say fabrics of hair, what i mean is this: every head of hair is unique and every head of hair is going to have its own set of needs. So a lot of times when people tell me like my hair is 3c or 4c. What should i use? Let'S just put one piece of the puzzle when i say multiple fabrics of hair is because fabric is really similar to hair and the fact that there are so many different kinds and each of them has a different requirement. That being said, silk things like that cashmere are delicates. You have to treat them a little bit differently than you can treat cotton or wool or linen things like that. If i were to use the same type of heat on silk that i can use on linen or on wool, i would burn that silk up. Hair is the same way to me. It'S an inclusive yet respectful way to describe the fact that each of our heads of hair are different, but they're still gloriously beautiful and they still have their own attributes that have to be cared for individually, because we ain't trying to melt that polyester. Now.

Cindy S: As a hairdresser and a seamstress/designer I love the comparison. Well said!

Dana Foster: I love how you break it down for us! Thanks Linwood.

👄Karamel Kisses💋: This is so me, regarding fine hair. I'm just now figuring out my hair needs. I really am on a spiritual hair journey lol. It gets real. Hope all is well and take care!

Maia B.: I wish every natural could see this video! I definitely have more cottony feeling hair. It’s not silky.

Jus Gie: Yass tell them. Idk why people make things so hard

April T.: Thank you so much for your expertise! When I was a child, my family called me the knotty head one which meant I had nappy hair. In my adulthood, I have been natural since 2018. I didn't want relaxed hair anymore. I watched your videos from time to time in 2021. When you told us to wash our hair to prevent tangles, I subscribed. I think that was an older video. That was my problem, tangled hair during wash day. Now I have the patience. I plait/braid my hair into 8 sections. I thank God for you. You taught me how to moisturize my hair. One morning I watched your videos, then I ran to my bathroom closet to see what I could use. I have been using my leave in, moisturizer and oils correctly. I just want to say because of you I can wash my hair and moisturize it the correct way. My hair looks and feels better. I love you! I feel like crying, but I'm holding it back. I think I have 3C/4A type hair. I love my hair now. Thank you. God bless you! May the world find out about you and feel the same joy as I do. Take care.

LovingLife87: I love this explanation! The keywords you used were " inclusive and respectful." Thanks, Linwood!

SetApart RDB: It DEFINITELY makes sooooo much sense. I thank God for Linewood and for making him a great teacher with the ability to help ppl understand without the feeling of being degraded

Purple Plus: I also refer to hair as fabric. I have high density, medium-fine hair, with high porosity. When I used to straighten my hair, it was difficult to straighten because it burned easily. After straightening, it wouldn't last long unless I took extreme measures to avoid humidity, even taking tepid baths instead of warm showers. Because of all of that, I did not press my hair often! I am so glad I locked my hair. My wet sets last for several days if not weeks and it's nice to wake and shake. Now, water is my friend.

Carmen Anomaly: That totally makes sense. Great analogy! Don’t burn the polyester and don’t scorch the silk.

Char Foggie: So well put. Great job, L.

Mary Contrary: Thank you for the lessons

Jeffrey Eduardo: *The economic hardship, recession, unemployment and the loss of job caused by covid pandemic is enough to push people into financial ventures.
