Hey you guys welcome back to my channel, so in today's video, i'm showing you guys how i maintain my wigs. So i'm just going to show you guys what products i use to wash my hair, how i remove the old glue um, how i reinstall my wigs? How i re-tint my hair i've had this hair for six months. I always get asked where my legs, from what kind of hair am i wearing my hair is from diamond virgin hair company i've been buying their hair for the past four years. I'M not sponsored i've. Never received free hair from them. I normally just buy three bundles along with either a lace, closure or a frontal. This wig is a lace, closure wig, i don't remember the lens or anything but i'll make sure i put all of the details in my description box. I'M just going to go ahead and get started. I hope you guys enjoyed this video after one to two weeks of wearing my hair, my wig. This is normally how it looks like there's a lot of old glue makeup and the hair strands itself just looks really stringy and greasy. So what i like to do first is take my alcohol. This is 70 percent alcohol. Normally i use 91, but they didn't have it at walgreens. I like to take that alcohol and just grab a rag and remove all of that glue. I do have a more detailed video on how i remove glue from my lace, and i will make sure i put it either on the screen here or in my description box. So this is how the lace looks after i am done, removing the glue there is still like a line of glue, but i'm gon na get that out. When i wash the lace majority of the time. I take my wigs off every night, so i'm just brushing through the hair running some water in it. I do this until the wig is completely soaked with water. So next i am going to take my keratin, smooth, shampoo and i'm going to shampoo the hair. I use a lot of shampoo a lot of conditioner a lot of product. In general i mean you, don't have to use all of this product, but i just personally like to use a lot of product. I never co-wash my wigs just because i feel like it just weighs my hair down. I prefer to wash my wigs and condition them every single week, so i'm just taking that shampoo and i'm just gon na put it all over the hair. Then, after i'm done putting it all over the hair while spreading it out all over the hair, i go back in with my paddle brush, so i can just evenly distribute to the shampoo all over the hair. And yes, i use more shampoo and more and more and more until i feel like my hair - is just coated with shampoo. I also take some of the shampoo and put it exactly on the lace, and then i take my two thumbs to just really get into the lace and wash off the glue and all of the um makeup that i have on the lace. This is how my hair looks after i put all of that shampoo in it. I just like my hair to just be coated with shampoo, and then i take my paddle brush to just evenly distribute the shampoo onto the hair. So i just want to make sure that the shampoo coats, every single strand i like to take laundry detergent. This is the one by tide. I love this laundry detergent for my clothes and also for my wig. I am using this to wash the cap, so sometimes, when i wash my wigs, i don't really like the. I don't like how the cap smells afterwards. It smells like an old head scarf. So to get that smell out, i just like to use laundry detergent. I just feel like shampoo, doesn't really help with that smell and because i keep this wig for so long and i wear it all the time i really like to thoroughly just wash every part of the wig. So i just take a little bit of that laundry detergent and just wash the cap as i would like a shirt or just any type of clothing. I was hand washing then, after that i rinse out to the shampoo along with the laundry detergent. Then i take my conditioner, which is by tresemme as well. It'S their keratin, smooth conditioner, and i do the exact same thing i did with the shampoo with the conditioner. I use a generous amount. The only thing is with the conditioner, i start from the ends and just work. My way up also don't forget to be gentle when you're handling the lace, as you guys can see, i just created a hole in my lace. I didn't have one before, but i was being too rough and i ripped my lace with my nail. The lace is very thin, so just make sure you're not holding the wig by the lace. After i'm done applying the conditioner, i like to turn the wig inside out and put the hair in the cap and take some grocery bags and let the hair sit in that conditioner for about 30 minutes. It really just depends. You can wash this out sooner like in three minutes: five minutes, i'm not sure what the bottle says, but i leave this conditioner in for not necessarily to make the hair softer or silkier more so for the smell, i feel like the longer i leave the conditioner In the stronger, the smell is of the conditioner and the conditioner smells pretty good. While my hair is sitting in the conditioner i like to just go ahead and clean up my station, i like to clean as i go, so i'm just rinsing out my shampoo bottle. My conditioner bottle everything i use my laundry detergent, my brushes wiping down my area, then i go ahead and rinse out the conditioner. I do spend a lot of time rinsing out the hair, because i want to make sure i get out all of the product. All of the conditioner, even if i had leftover shampoo laundry detergent, i just want all of that to be out of the hair. This is normally how i try to hold the wig when i'm rinsing out to the shampoo conditioner or even when i'm applying it. I like to hold it behind the closure, so i don't rip it or you know, make another hole. So after i'm done rinsing it out. I just use my fingers and wring out the water when you get to the top. When i get to the top like where the laces or the frontal, depending on what wig i'm washing, i just like to be very careful. So i don't mess up the lace and then, after that i like to put it in a towel for a little bit and let it towel dry. I take parts of the towel and put it in the cap because the cap takes the longest to dry. So i leave that in the towel - for maybe 15 20 minutes. Sometimes i forget about it. But after about 15 20 minutes i like to take either pants hanger or this hanger. This hanger is from diamond virgin hair and i like to hang up the wig and let it air dry. But for the sake of this video, i went ahead and blow-dried the hair, because i really wanted to just finish filming this video in one day but 99 of the time i like to let my hair air dry. So this is how the hair looks blow dried and you guys will see it better. Once i put it on, i haven't um, i didn't brush this hair out or anything. So this is literally it's in its natural state. It'S blow-dried! What i'm going to do next is tint to the lace, although the lace, as you guys can see, already looks tinted, it also has some holes. I just i just created this whole accidentally washing the hair, but i've had this hair for about six months. So that's why the lace looks like this, but you really won't be able to see all of this once i put it on. This is how the lace looks on my skin. It'S not super noticeable that the lace is a little too light. However, i do want it to be a perfect match, so what i'm gon na do is, i don't know. What'S on my finger, i'm just going to take my bronzer. This bronzer is from revolution beauty. This is their revolution, glow bronzer in the shade, dark and there's the color. It'S not my skin tone. It'S just a little lighter than my skin tone, i'm just taking my morphe e4 brush dabbing the brush in the bronzer and then i am going to use my hand to fold back the baby hairs and then i'm going to take the brush and just put it All over the lace now i try to focus mostly in the front and also on the part, because that's the only places really that people will see the rest really doesn't matter and y'all. I used to be so against putting makeup on your lace, closure, your frontals, but now it's like it's just so convenient and it's easier to get a perfect match when you just use makeup instead, so that's what i've been doing so, as you guys can see, i Am just adding a generous amount just because some of this will come off so y'all. That'S how it looks right now. It'S still not a perfect match, but once i put it on, you guys will see how it just kind of melts into my skin, and i did get some makeup on some of the hairs. But normally i just take a paper towel with water to wipe that off, i'm just going to use my blow dryer to brush my hair out, just because my other palette brush is still wet, so i'm just taking this to brush it out. After i put on my wig, i like to comb the hair back now i am taking my got to be glued blasting, freeze spray and i'm just going to spray that on the lace so - and i got my paper towel here - to catch any of the extra Spray now i'm taking my rat tail comb and i'm just going to press the lace into my skin. So normally it takes like. Maybe i would say i would say it probably takes three minutes for the spray to dry. You can use a blow dryer to speed up the process, but i normally just wait for it because it doesn't take that long at all. Baby hairs aren't really something that i'm crazy about on this wig, at least so i might not even do baby hairs in this video but yeah. The lace is glued on to my skin. The glue is already dry, so now i'm just going to style the hair. Normally i just wear this hair in its natural state and then i just flat iron, the top, so it can be flat, but today i'm actually going to curl the hair and everything just really to show you guys how it looks curled and stuff before i start. Styling, my hair, i always use heat protectant today, i'm using the garnier, fructise sleek and shine heat protectant. I think that's what it's called it's in a green bottle. I don't have the bottle anymore, so i put it in another container and yeah. I just put a dime size amount all over my hair, and now i'm just going to start curling it i'm just taking smaller sections in the front so that the front can look really really flat and just not bulky, i'm just going to comb through it. Just to loosen up the curls i'll use my hands as well. My fingers, my paddle brush, is still wet from washing this wig, so i'm just going to use my paddle brush on my blow dryer to comb through the curls. I really wanted messy curls today exactly what i thought when i have any fly aways i like to use my murray's beeswax, it's super dirty, but i'll leave it in my description box. This is how it looks like, and i just put that on top of the flyaways, and it just lays them down. So so, do you guys see my hair very nice? It'S very soft! That'S pretty much what i do to maintain my wigs washing retenting reinstalling, and this is how my hair normally looks. The company i normally buy my hair from is from diamond virgin hair company. I always get asked where's my hair from where did i buy my hair from diamond virgin hair company unless i'm doing the hair collaboration, but i really don't do a lot of hair reviews on my channel so nine times out of ten, i wear hair from diamond Virgin hair, i got this hair back in may y'all and this hair is still holding up. It still looks really nice, it's just really refreshing. I love the quality of this hair. I love how i can just wash this hair. It goes back to how it looks when i first got it. I just love diamond virgin air. I love how long their hair lasts. I only buy hair every 6 to 12 months unless i am doing um unless i want to do like a different hairstyle, but normally i just prefer something simple like this: a middle part wig black long and we're good. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. If you guys have any questions about anything i did or i don't know any comments, leave them down in the description box and i will see you guys next time, bye, y'all,
