Hey everyone i'm here to do a quick color comparison. I'Ve got a couple of different sort of dark blonde light brown colors in two different manufacturers, and i thought i would show you a little bit about how they're a little different. So i've got on my head. Paula young becky in the color 1026 with a number six root and i'm going to compare it to estetica rh1226. So here are the two tags, so i have uh mellow in 1226. So let's talk a little bit about color codes and i wish that these were both 12 26. But i think that i can make my point even though they're not exactly the same. You know one of the hardest things about color is trying to understand what it's going to look like when you get it, and especially these kind of blended or highlighted colors, because how a manufacturer blends or puts together those multiple colors. It'S really going to impact. How that color looks, and unfortunately it's very difficult unless you can find a lot of reviews on a color to really know what that's going to look like. Even when you do get watch reviews the piece you get may look different, because the color placement may be slightly different. Let me talk about that a little bit so um when you're dealing with synthetic hair fibers. First of all how the color is on the fibers. Can vary but it's also the manufacturing process. The more cap features that you have the harder it's going to be to get consistency and standardization. Why is that? So? Let'S talk about becky here as an example, becky has a lace front and a mono part. Those are hand tied features that means that somebody physically hand tied in those fibers. So every person is going to do that just slightly different. The placement of the fibers. It'S not going to be an exact science, and even even machine made wigs uh don't have always have the consistency and again it's because you're dealing with i mean how many hair fibers are in this wig. You know thousands and thousands, and so the placement of those fibers, it's really difficult to get that to be exact every time, especially when you're talking about. Let'S look at estetica um the 1226. This one is the rh 1226, which means it's highlighted. So the placement of those highlights - i have so much light on um this, that it should looking a little shiny, but you know it's to get this highlight placed exactly in the same place on every wig or the exact same number of highlights is, i think it's An unrealistic expectation quite honestly, and so when you get a wig, it may look slightly different from what you expect and especially with color it's that placement. So let me just talk a little bit about you know the 10s and the 12s, so i have a color chart that i have pulled off of a website. I can't remember what it is anymore and it's in my blog. So if you're curious about color codes, please go to my blog heywigsister.com and i do have a listing of color codes on there, a 10 so you're when you're talking about brunettes brunettes range, typically from a 2 or a 1, i guess to a 12., a 1 Being a black and then a 12 being a light brown once you get into the 14, now you're getting into some of the light blonde color the dark blonde colors. So when i'm thinking about this wig right here, the 10, this is a light brown. But it's not the lightest brown and then a 26 is going to be like a golden blonde, and so both of these have that 26 in them. But this one the base color, is a 12 and this one the base color, is a 10., and you can see this. One is just. Let me think of the best way to show you this one is just slightly darker than this one. It'S just got a slightly darker overall tone and that's really number one: it's the difference between the base color of a 10 or a 12, and then the 26. The placement of the 26 is also going to impact. How the overall color looks this one is the more highlighted placement of a 26 which is indicated by the h in the color code. This one is more of a blended placement of the 26, which gives it an overall, smoother look without like the summer highlights. I would not consider this a streaky stripy color at all and i'll show you these outside, so you've got more natural light on them as well, instead of this um kind of studio lighting, but i will say that even though it's it is highlighted, it's not like Stripy a little bit i mean it's definitely like you wouldn't got highlights it doesn't. Look like the sun, lightened your hair uh, whereas this one might look a little bit more like the sun, lightened your hair a little bit. The other thing that's going to make a huge difference in this is: is the hair fibers and the pat like straight versus curly in a super curly wig. It'S going to the placement of that color is just going to look different than it does in a straight wig. You are going to see those highlights a lot more prominently, often than you will in a curly wig, because of how the curls kind of go every which way, and so that's also important, to keep in mind as you're trying to decide on color it's it's overwhelming. For sure, because there's so many factors to take into consideration, but i think you, your first goal is to understand those color codes and initially what do these color codes mean? What are they telling me and then try to understand placement of how you know multiple colors might be sometimes it's easier to purchase just a straight 10 or a 4 as long as that means that they didn't blend multiple colors, because at least there could be more Consistency in that um, so i'll get outside for you guys. I think another huge difference is whether a color is rooted or not rooted. It is going to make a tremendous overall difference in how that color looks. So let me talk about so this has got a number six root. This is not the rooted version. I have a review of mellow. This is mellow and i will put her on my head. I have maybe i'll do that right now, but let's just take a look, so you can see this is darker up here and this rooting goes all throughout the wig. So all the roots on the wig all throughout have that darker number six, which is a medium dark brown, very complementary to the colors in here, not extreme, often you'll find a number four root in a wig which would be a lot darker. Looking, i would say, though, that that's going to give this color a darker overall appearance, because that rooting is just going to darken up the rest of the wig. Even if it's just a little bit of a rooting, it does give it a darker overall appearance. So if you're a brunette trying to go lighter, i think rooting is your best friend. So i have a review of mellow in this color, but the rooted version. I prefer that rooted version over this color. I actually like this color - and i couldn't have worn this color a year ago, so my i'm growing in my ability to wear lighter colors, but my preference is always with a rooted color, because my bio hair is darker. I like that appearance of a bit of a contrast and a little bit of the darker. It also makes it so much easier for me to blend my bio hair, which is darker and - and you can often, even though i don't have much hair and i do buzz it. This short um. You can sometimes see kind of my bio hair at the temples because i do have a low hairline right here, so having that rooting is, is super helpful, uh for a brunette. So let me put on this mellow for you she's pretty much out of the box. I actually haven't worn this one yet um. I wasn't sure if i was actually going to like it, because it's not the rooted version, but i'm i'm really surprised by how much i like it. So let me get uh this other one on a wig head, because it's so much easier to hold up on video when it's on a wig head versus in my hand. So again, you've got this more of a highlighted, color and more of a blended color, and then it just looks darker so between the 10 and the rooting. This one comes across with an overall darker appearance, not tremendous though i would say that they're very similar. So if you were to get this in the rooted version, i would say they'd be a lot closer to each other. The difference between that 10 and the 12 is not significant. So if you're someone who's comfortable with a wide range of colors, i wouldn't sweat the fact that you can't get a 12 26 in paula young. One of the complaints about paula young is that they don't have a lot of color options, and so i think it can be helpful to understand how it might compare to some of other colors. You might have experience with so for me personally. The 10 26 here with the root and the rooted version of this 1226 are close enough in my opinion that i could, i could do them both easily. I think that they could be interchangeable, so that's kind of my opinion on that. It'S not so much these, because this one doesn't have the rooting um. So hopefully that was helpful. I kind of wanted to take this video and and talk about how you start to think about colors. You know, in addition to doing a color comparison, because again, i think that's where, as you're learning on your wig journey understanding, how all of this works not only helps you make better decisions, but it also helps to set your expectations, and i say this a lot And i will continue to say this as much as i can. Managing your expectations when it comes to wigs is really going to help you so much, and it's going to be so important if we as wig wearers, become rigid in our expectations. We want total consistency. Wig to wig, of course we do, but is that realistic um? We want manufacturers to explain colors better to us, yep sure, but again, let's start working on our expectations. That'S why i think there's room for every reviewer who wants to be a reviewer, because we're all going to bring something different to the table. The more people you can see, wigs on the more people who show color in various lighting settings are just it's all helpful. The other thing that i want to encourage you to try to do is expand your repertoire repertoire of colors that you can wear in any way that you can, whether it's buying cheap, wigs and just wearing them around the house to desensitize yourself to lighter colors or Colors with more red in them or darker colors, whatever it is that you struggle to make the leap to highlighted colors, i encourage you to try to work your way to being able to do that, and the reason is because it will make wig buying less stressful. It will make when a wig shows up not exactly how you expected it to look a little bit easier to take. Now that i can wear multiple colors, i can we i'm not as much about the dark colors anymore, but i can wear a variety of highlighted. Colors and auburn colors and red colors, and i'm starting to get into more blondes that are still somewhat on the brunette end. It makes it so much easier for me to buy a wig. I don't sweat the color quite as much, because i don't have such a narrow window of what i can wear and that's kind of the best advice. I can give you just overall the more used to lots of different things. You can get permatease length a little bit of wave a straight, the less stressful it'll be for you and the more options you'll have and when finances come into play, if you're on a budget as most of us are - and you can't afford to make mistakes, the Less wigs that you would consider a mistake, the easier and then you can take advantage of sales or wig sister selling, wigs, because you're not just looking for one rigid type of wig in one rigid, color palette. So i hope that was helpful. I know that's it's hard, it's really hard to get there. It'S practice, it's desensitizing yourself. It'S opening up your mind to it. It'S experience, there's lots that go into it and not everybody can get there, and so, if you just are someone who just can't or won't expand into other areas with wigs, that's fine, i mean this is your own journey. I'M just trying to come up with ways to help when it's such a struggle - and that is one area - that's really a struggle. Color is a huge struggle, and so the more you can do, the easier it will be. So hopefully this was helpful. I'Ll get outside and show you these two colors outside, and if you have questions, let me know i would like to do more color comparisons, and so i'm trying to get my hands and sometimes i have a wig and i'm trying to get my hands on sister Styles in in colors that are complementary, so that i can show them. So if you have wigs laying around not getting any use - and you don't know what to do with them, let me know: maybe it's one i can use for a color comparison. I'M happy to just take it: do a video with it and send it back or i'm happy to donate it as well. If it's not something that will work for me, some people just have been really generous and have given me wigs and said: do what you want with them and most of the time i end up donating them, but every now and then i get one that i Absolutely love and i wear it but um just let me know, though, if you'd like to help me out with these color comparisons. I think that they're really helpful and i'd love to do more of them. So thanks for watching stick around for the outside look. Alright! Everyone so we're outside, and i wanted to give you a look at these two colors side by side and outside light. I think you can see the highlighting on the 12 26 more than on the 10 26 here, and you can really see how much darker this one pulls then than this one. Definitely so you've got your just beautiful this one, i would say, is a a light. Brown, this one, i would call a dark blonde. Now, that's from a brunette's impression. Obviously, if you're a blonde, you might have different impressions. You might consider this a light brown too and then again without the rooting you know you've, it's just an overall lighter feel. So let me quickly switch them up for you, because that's always super helpful. I won't be able to walk around in the yard, like i usually do when i show these outside looks just because it's too hard to do with two wigs, so i'm just sitting down at my little picnic table on my deck. Hopefully that's still good enough. I have a small window here in the morning when i can do this when there's not sunlight on this part of the deck. Okay, so see it's overall, just lighter on my face. So if you're trying to decide between colors and you're sort of in that light, brown dark blonde area, if you're a brunette, i would recommend trying to get rooted colors. That does help, especially in the beginning. I couldn't wear this color. I might have said this already, but i couldn't wear this color last year at all, i had gotten thin in this color and i couldn't wear it because it was way too light for me. I can wear this now and i'm so glad, but rooting does help me and it's definitely something i recommend, starting with at least as a as a brunette all right. Hopefully that was helpful to give you a kind of a good comparison. They'Re not that different. This is just overall pulls a little darker and it's more blended, but really overall they're, not that different. All right, thanks for watching you guys

Patty Carosi: Great explanation and we really need all this help with color. Thank you! I always have trouble with picking a color. I love your top!

L S: GREAT comparison! Indeed, color is the hardest part for me in choosing a piece. Some of the ones I have gotten and didn't think I could wear turned out to be favorites once I gave myself time to get used to seeing myself in those colors. I agree, it takes time and patience......and your very helpful videos make a huge difference in whether or not I try a new color that I have been considering. Always happy to share any piece I have with you, anytime. ❤

Twyla 2: Denise, you are definitely a "curly" girl! Every video I've seen you in with the curls you look amazing!!

Kim Maryfield: Thank you!! I have been struggling with the RH1226 but I think I feel confident buying it now. Being a first time wig buyer the color is the most frustrating part. What a Struggle this has been for me!!

Mileetn: I have been eyeing "Becky" so LOVE seeing her on you and she looks awesome!!!! I am going to have to get her!

Susan geddes: Love your reviews Denise, always full of information and facts. Keep them coming

Kimc GARYC: Great review! Thank you for explaining colors. Very much needed. You look beautiful in both colors.

Carol Muse: Becky is so cute on you! You are one of the few that show wigs outside which is so helpful. Its always hard to tell the true colors in doors. Thanks for taking the time to review these wigs for us.

Jesus Saves: Love rooted colors, they look so much more natural. Mellow looks great on you.

April Wilcher: Extremely helpful. Makes so much sense to me now. Thanks!

Karen Lynn: You are so great at explaining colors. I have learned so much from you

AJ Row: Great video, Denise! Great info and advice!❤️

Julie: FanTASTIC advice and video. You are TERRIFIC at this. Really. THANK YOU I NEEDED THIS SOOOO MUCH!

RubyRazzie: The more we can learn about color, and the more examples we can see, the closer we come to understanding. Thanks for putting this out there, Denise.

Myla Dalton: So helpful! Thank you!

Laurie Shafer: I have gone through this wig journey with you. I buzz cut my head at the same time you did. I do struggle with color and get hesitant to try different colors. The last 2 wigs I chose 2 different colors in the same manufacture to get out of the rut I was in with color. Like you said manage your expectations. You do have to take each wig and make it your own. Easy to do? No, but the longer you are in your wig journey the more you want to try something different. My mindset was what if it is such a different color people would know I wear a wig. Most of the time I don't care if they do but I don't want it to be a subject of conversation. Thank you for the conversation regarding color. I feel more confident to try other colors.

Maria Barradas: Those are two beautiful wigs but I am partial to Becky, she looks adorable on you, I love a rooted wig, my Innuendo had no root but under your instruction and with furniture makers i gave her a root and low lights, I agree with you about trying different shades, i thought I would be stuck with Shaded Peach from Jon Renau but since then I got two light blondes from Toni Brattin that I love, and a Dark Red, now I wanted anotehr Innuendo in Coffee Mist but it's on back order until next year, trying to expand my collection and I have learned that they don't need to cost a fortune to be cute and easy going, that Becky is such a cute hair but I can't have that many curls, I do love to see her on you and I think you migh have it on another caramel shade, also a beautiful wig...thanks for showing us the different shdes and the numbers that go with them, still a strugle for me, lol.

Victorious Vikki: I loved this comparison,,, very helpful.Have you gotten BECKY in a blonde yet? I want her but can’t pull the trigger just yet because I am not sure about the blonde they offer her in.

Patti W: That color is gorgeous I haven’t had my hair permed for at least the last 10 years I used to wear really curly I’m a little scared because now I’m wearing it really short and I am 60 I don’t know how it’s gonna look but I want to give it a try in the worst way. So I may try it just for the heck of it they have a deferred paying right now with Paula Young.Just out of curiosity have you ever gotten Deirdre from Paul Young? I think that would look adorable on you and I’d love to see you review it! Keep up the reviews I’m one of your biggest fans!! Lol

Clara: Very helpful many thanks Denise. What is the name of the Estetica wig it looks lowish density? ❤️

Janet Savona: That's a beautiful one

Gerri W: Thanks Denise great information

Marti Jo Barrett: THANK YOU! Your Wannabe Neighbor!

Henrietta Lazo: You are wonderful. Many many thanks.

Wendy Amsterdam: I know this is about the color but looooove Mellow. Too bad I have a tiny head

Carmen Eusebio: Good information

forty2alz22: I love Becky!!!!

Carmen Eusebio: I could not find a these wigs ((Becky; Mellow) on Paula Young site. Can you help? Thank you.

The Owens Witches: Tfs

Stephen Carter: Like the curly wig but it best not to brush the curls mom only lifts her curls in place with fingers or a pick .
