Wig Talk Wednesday! Summer Ideas For Your Synthetic Wigs!

Ready or not here we are, this is so exciting. No, it's not! Yes! It is it's exciting. I love it, i'm so excited. I love up twos. I just i love them, i'm just i'm always amazed how you can do you probably got into prom and everything too. Didn'T you? No, oh, because everybody got into prom, really loves, updates, hi ali okay. What are you so amazed about how you can do you can take your hair and you can put it up and you do it and you like pull some pieces down and whatnot and somehow it's totally appropriate for the beach or the pool. But then you can put like a formal dress on it's totally appropriate for that too, and it's just anything goes rhonda you made it ally, told me it is 70 degrees in alaska. That'S amazing! What if it's as humid as it is here? Oh it just sounds. Happy because the sun's out i mean i just want to go, stand outside, oh kim. Actually she says it's 94 and high humidity. It'S been super super humid here, but it's kind of been a little bit cooler, mm-hmm yeah. Actually it was nice. I sat out back now, wendy in the netherlands. She probably has some pretty weather with the tulips coming up. Definitely that's the speed for weather, i'm sure hi sandra, i hope bonna says she's still working well. We still have people in the store we went over this morning, yeah, okay! Yes, we do well if your boss is watching you're both doing the same thing. So it's okay, our appointments have all right over. So there may be some background noise right, um. It just is what it is: yeah yeah, so we have a shaggy, oh hi, peggy, peggy and colleen. We got utah liverpool. I just love, seeing where everybody's from i do too hi mitzi. I like saying hi to everybody. Howdy too. I wonder if um we had two, oh my gosh, they were so much fun, they drove them from asheville north carolina, beth and jane, and they were telling us yesterday they were going to get on the road to head back to north carolina, but they were trying To plan their stops so that they could watch wig talk wednesday, so i hope you all made it because y'all were just they're just a regular riot. They were so they were fun. They were really fun. She was cracking me up with her notebook. She like had a notebook, she had a notebook, but it was like journal. It was a journal, but it was my style. It was like here's a list and marking stuff out, and i was telling her about somebody else who names marlene. That came in with a very well developed spreadsheet. No, i like to be organized, but i'm not that organized. Oh sandra said she likes my jewelry. I got it at the allen arts festival from this girl. Her uh business is called house of cary k-e-r-r-i and i want to carry this jewelry so bad because i love it, but she says she's too busy to produce for a retail store. So i'm going to keep working on her because she had some really really great stuff and the price was the prices were great. That'S how you know that you're really getting something that has you know her hand on it. It'S not mass produced and so everything he gets an original design. That'S awesome, yeah good for her house of carrie, i'm sure's website. She does have a website. She has her jewelry displayed. This is what she had on when i walked into her the pink shirt. No, the pink shirts from zoo lily, but no she had the jewelry like that, and i was just like i want that. That'S what i want! Oh my goodness. We have somebody from india today, oh hi and yes janet. How did you guess alva and chocolate frost um? This is orchid and silver sun rooted and i've pulled her up a little bit. She pulled her up did her own little updo. I did all by myself. It took like three minutes. I don't even know if it took me, it didn't take three minutes. Janie you're, coming in on saturday. Misty is off this saturday, but i will be here all day long. She will, unless somebody runs her off so y'all better, be nice. I don't know, i'm pretty mean she might run somebody off, but they run her just kidding. Oh, the young racist is on hold we're all good there. Oh, but what's that? Could you just let us know what the disaster is, because last time was a tornado and then they got through that, but we're just thinking car wreck in the coma or or we thought there was going to be a car rack a coma. There probably won't be another natural, i don't know that tornado or a baby of a tornado being on a soap. That was amazing, i'm like they must be in the south in tornado alley. So i was good with that right. I saw lorraine a minute ago. Hi, lorraine, i'm still looking for um, something i'm going to say hi to she asked me how to get on here, and so she wanted to know how susanna, if you're on here, did she come in the store? Did you susana? Yes, i sent you the video y'all. I want to post this so bad, but both marcia and susannah made me promise. I wouldn't post it. I have a video of them they're, both from arkansas and they were both cheerleaders, and so i had them do they were calling the hogs and it was the cutest thing, but they they sent me the video yeah, because cam was off. It was fun because i made fun of marshall from being from arkansas yeah. They were just stamped, they were, they were and they were totally in sync yeah did i try to get marshall, do the clickety-clack or something well? Okay, the picture of me sticking my tongue out that got posted and i didn't want that poster. That was not you, but why can't we? Why can't we uh just post it? I just won't tag anybody. Maybe they won't notice, it was so fun anyway. Anyway, we got florida, hi colleen, oh they're, giving kobe shots and little elm at tomtom pharmacy. Well, i bet they busy. I bet they are okay. How do you want to start this little shindig? Well, let me just start by saying this is not my favorite topic. I'M not even going to my favorite, i love it, but we've had a ton of requests for up jews for summer. Sorry, we had an update on the young, the restless, a pregnant lady fell by jogging, but only spraying her wrist. So that's the only drama today. So far you know what she's going to miscarry, that's a horrible thing to say, but that is or maybe it's just going to be, like a the thread of it or maybe they're going to find out when they go to the hospital and she did her wrists. Are going to find out she's really having triplets yeah? That'S what it's going to mean: okay, y'all! Sorry! It'S not my favorite topic, because even when i was in a salon, i didn't i'm not a fan of doing updos. I think they're beautiful, but i never can get them to look perfect like i like them to look well, you know what i'm going to do, i'm going to take mine down and i'm going to redo it. Okay, okay: this is my version of an updo all right. So, let's, let's spin around, i wear my own hair like this a lot just with my bangs up, so this is orchid. This is what she looks like just all down. So what i do is, i start pulling and leaving a little bit there. I want that long piece to kind of hang down a little bit. Then i start pulling up from the back. Can you hear her you're holding the microphone so what you got to be careful of? Is this cap showing so what i'll do is i'll come up in here? Grab my clip - and this is just messy - put it in and then start pulling yeah just get it out tap cover. Then we got ta have little tendrils that come down. So we'll start just that's what makes it all sexy and whisper pulling a little piece here and a little piece there i'll pull a few pieces in the back. These clips like she are wearing. If you can find these. These are great. We actually found these at ross. Oh you thought i was going to say. I thought you found them at target no from ross, and so they, if you can see they, have like two rows of jaw. What are those called little clamps yeah? They don't it's like a double claw, yeah, it's like double, and i know it's hard to see. But if you can there we go maybe a little bit. It really holds it good, and so, when you're going in through a wig, since this back part is almost always wefted, unless you have 100 hand tied, you can actually go in and it'll clamp through the whole wig and so it'll be nice and secure. You know where i got this hair clip misty went to ross this morning bought it for me. It just happened to match what i had on she didn't know. What, like you know, what imagine your jewelry, but just something sparkly and fine, yeah and um. So anyway, we just got several different wigs, but that's the easiest way to do it. I'M telling you summertime, it doesn't have to be precise and you know you're not going to a formal, oh and what i usually do is start pulling up here too. So you get kind of a little fluff well, and this is my album and the good thing about having it up. You literally. Well, i'm not this one hang on. I got ta you clip through the cake yeah you can like, take it off and leave it, and then you have it ready to go for next time, because that's my idea of convenience cold easiness, but i also brought my reeves to put on and just to See i don't know because i, but we would just play kim, brought a whole bunch of stuff, so we're just gon na and i dug through. I have things here that we used to sell in the store when i was a teenager they're very very years ago. They'Re very vintagey, and it was fun to go through because i thought i forgot. I had this yeah says ross. Ross is awesome for hair clips. They don't always have a ton of things, but you know they have. Their prices are really good, because i mean you don't want to go, spend a ton. You'Ve got some things that are really expensive, that you've had a long time that are silver you know, but for convenience i mean you can have every color under the rainbow summertime. For how long is it okay to wear a wig? It'S all about you and your comfort level. We have, ladies, that do yard work in 100 degree heat in texas in their wig. I couldn't do that. You know if i didn't have any hair: i'd opt for a scarf and a hat just because it'd be cooler, but it's about what you're comfortable with, and you know we have, ladies, that they're outside and they're like. Oh it never bothers me. I'M just used to doing it so if you're relatively new to wigs, i think you'd be pretty uncomfortable out in the heat. I usually hair spray, this and kind of cheese it. But i love that wig on you. This is reeves by estetica. Now, i'm going to tell you right now, since we're talking about summer, if you're looking for wigs that are lighter weight and really stretchy and comfortable, i think tony beverly and estetica have absolutely the most comfortable wig caps for summer, because i'm i get i'm really hot Natured sorry y'all: normally it stays back um, but those are all stretchy and comfy all right. Okay, julie says that she um she's bald and she struggles as the clip has nothing to grab onto you. Don'T you're just wanting to grab through the wig. You don't want to have to worry about clipping it into your own hair. So, just if you the thing about it, if it's it's heavy and if you just i'm just going to kind of unclip this and just show, if you just go through hair, see now it's just clipped through the hair and as this gets heavier and heavier as The day goes on: it's going to fall, so even if you don't have hair, you just want to reach up and grab through the wig cap itself, and that way it's going to give you nice firm, grip, yeah. It just gives it a better structure to hold on to bella says this: is her high school hair, the girl? This was mine too only i had bigger bangs and i had curlier. I had the perm, but did you have like the well? Of course i did too, i would take okay, i would take my curling iron and i would curl it and while it was on the hot curling iron, i would spray it with my um either my la it was a la looks or aussie freeze and spray. It and then i would let it go and let it sit there and then after it sat there for a while i'll brush it out, and i mean i had the bangs, the bangs, the waterfall. I want to bring those days back. I'M telling you all right. All right, so, let's see what can we do? What do we got here? Even if you just wanted to do like a low pony or something on the side? I think it's always really cute. If you take just something long, it's a weapon too and do it to the side and let it kind of come over there like that, let's just let's just do it with a little ponytail holder and see what happens. Yeah, we're just experimenting. Y'All we're just friends here, it's like and i'm going to be doing, i'm going to do a half up half down situation because that's always fun too yeah. It'S like we're at our own little slumber party and then i guess it would help. If i uncovered my ears, i just started y'all and then i'll take a little bit of it. Now you've got half up half down how's this. Oh that's cute, see she's covered the cap here, she's got that cute little pearl thing and those pearl uh scrunchy things. I got those on zoo lily and i, like i, like zoo, lily a lot. She does she'll come and say i'm expecting five packages. Another thing i'm a fan of as y'all know, is messy buns. So i think it's also cute. If you just kind of do that, to the side like that, oh yeah and - and you can even put like a scarf around this or something like that, but that's cute, what else can we try? Well, you can try the headband, okay, y'all can't make fun of me, but i'm telling you i i keep up with that. I'M just kidding. I don't keep up with fashion, but you have to remember how old i am i'm not as young as you, and so i don't keep up you're, not in your 40s anymore. I'M not i'm. Almost in my 60s, you are not. Are you yeah, my next birthday i'll, be on the other side of 55.? So, okay headbands? I know you guys, love headbands. I see your pictures all the time. Well, apparently, the poofy headband is coming back in style and by when i say poofy i mean poofy. This this is not poofy. Okay, this is not poofy, and this is a headband. It'S a little more like a little accent piece, which you know, i'm not too funny with this wig. But this is what i mean by poofy, oh and she's, not playing. It is poofy i put this on and i felt like princess leia. I thought you kind of just needed like ears on either side and you'd. Look like bambi. This is oh! No! It'S queen elizabeth, remember back in the original queen elizabeth. Yes, it takes on a holy meaning. Now you know the poofy headband is back. I don't know why, but it is what it does to your ears. I mean you thought: masks were gon na mess up your ears. Those headbands are gon na mess up your ears. Worse than any kind of mask, but it has genuine faux pearls and it's like a nice soft. It'S like a chenille, bedspread, y'all gon na see this on on e. Yes, maxine has amazing headbands. She does oh look. If you put that back, it looks regal donna says it looks like a bridesmaid, it looks regal. Doesn'T it you'll do anything to make it look like you think you have a halo, oh yeah, that's what this is anyway, headbands, whether it's skinny or full headbands, are always a great way for your wigs. What are we going to do now? Um? I want to try to do a bun, i mean i i you want to try to do it on me or you want to try to do it on. I don't want to do it on myself. I just want to try this okay. Deb says she has poofy headbands, i'm telling you they're they're. I did not know they were a thing. They are a thing: okay, y'all! I'M going to try to do this then! Well now i don't want to do it on this because it's curly, let's do it! Um, i need something i can brush out: okay y'all. This is this is real today, isn't this fun it's a blast! Only if i can wait tell me i don't look like i belong in an elizabethan outfit. You do you really do i like it. What'S better than what you're gon na say, misty wore that wig grip with the headband? That'S right, oh yeah! So you can put this on yourself! Okay, i wear my hair in a bun almost every day. If i don't have a wig on so we're going to see, if we can do this, would it be easier if i dumped it over on top, you want to pull it up. I don't want things. I don't like things easy, i'm just trying to hold this, though thank you, she's used to working on wigs that are pinned into a block. Yes, she has a little bit of a heavy hand yeah, because my clients - usually don't they don't fidget or move. And if you don't know what a bun form is. If you have bio hair that you wear up and it may be on the thin side or whatever the bun form is the absolute best invention ever okay, you can let go. I just put this in opponent. Even if you just did a high pony, you can do that too um. Don'T you have your bun form? Oh here it is so this is a bun form, and so, even if you have bio hair, that's on the thinner side. I use these all the time because it just fills it out because i have a lot of hair, but it's super fine, so i don't get the fullness, but this helps give it a shape. So what you do is just put it and pull your hair through it, and the wigs we're using today are our own personal wigs. Yes, i pulled it out of my wig wardrobe, and so this is a little long to do this with, but i think it'll create a cute little updo if we don't make it exactly like it's supposed to do, turn around just a little bit. So what you do once you get your button form in is kind of spread the hair out to make like a a donut doughnut. Did you say, don't i did say donut and then you're going to take your elastic band and put over the bun form and kind of double it. Then, at this point you would kind of blouse it out and it just makes a real nice form, but you wouldn't have all that, but i think this would be cute. Yes, this would be cute if you kind of if it were a little bit shorter, but you kind of took this and moved it around. So you've got your your bun in the middle, oh misty, that's cute! You'Ve got that. I mean this. Color is really crazy. It would be better if it were on one color, but um that would be cute just a little bun form. So if you didn't want all that, you can take you this hair and kind of wrap it and it'll stay under that way. But if you want to do a little messy and crazy well and then, if you wrap it, you know those little picks that have jewels on them. It'S like a it's kind of like a bobby pin, but it's more of a pick and they'll put a jewel on it. You can stick that around and then you have bejeweled hair but yeah. You could definitely do a bun, because i'm about i'm telling you i'm a bun person, you had to teach me how to do a bun. I didn't know how to make a bun in my hair yeah and show you a video that we do i'll post that one okay anyway bun forms that would be a good option. Let'S see what else we got, you want to put this back on sure and then ooh. This will be ready for me next time. Well, it needs some work. It'S cute, though, let's see what are people saying, i have a barrette with a crocheted snoot attached and it's so cute, oh yeah. That would be a good idea too yeah. I haven't seen one of those in a while. So, let's see what else we got, i mean this is like a miss mismatch of stuff. Today, donna the wig i just took off was angelica and melted plum, and this is orchid and silver sun root. So this is kind of anime. So now i'm going to try. This is one of my favorite clips is so strong. It holds so much hair. Actually i broke one of them. It looks like that anyway. This is another one, that's good, because you can get it through. The cap super easy. Yes, dad now, if you want to get a little bit more formal and you want a little bit less messy, just stick with your good old bobby pins, because then you can really do piece by piece. I mean if you'll take that down i'll kind of show. You know when you're you're doing something say you want something like a french roll, so you know kind of pull it all back. Do like you would do. Why is that all about dudes french rolls remember that would be different. The whole car bleeding well because we're talking about me and that's what i that's what i dwell on if you want to do something a little bit more formal, you can do like start with your french roll and then come in with your hair pins and your Bobby pins, you know every few inches and again it's easy to do, because you can go right into the cap of the wig. Somebody was asking about the fully hand tied wigs yeah. That gets a little tricky because you do not want to rip that mesh. So yeah, i don't know that i would do a fully hand tied wig went in up to because you're paying a lot of money for that cap. You are, and just you can't go through it without tearing it anyway. I'M not gon na. Do this whole thing, and i would do it a lot neater if someone came in and wanted a traditional french roll, but you can see that you can literally just like start placing the hair use a little hairspray and get it nice and sculpted anyway. So you can see you can do lots of little things then leave that kind of wispy messy there. Anyway. There is a lot of things you can do there are, and yes, this is reeves somebody's asking sorry. I was too focused on kim's wig. She even found these, which i you got these at ross and they're. Just really pretty but they've got good hold they've got like clawed teeth in there that are tiny, and so, if you just felt like you just wanted a little something something extra you could do that. I'M not good with i've, never been good with like clips and barrettes well, and even if you i don't know what you did back here but yeah you can just you could just add it in for a little. Oh, something something a little something something. I wonder if he could do it, let's turn here. If we could do it like yeah, maybe not, but you should i mean the point: is you just play with it right just play with your hair and another thing i wanted to show? Instead of doing i did the side ponytail, but even if you just want a low you wake up. No, let's show this. Oh everybody remembers these wonderful clips. I think you can still get them some places but um those springy. I think my mom gave me that when i was in my 20s and she carried them in the store, if your wig is not too thick, which reeves is not reeves has got lots of layering, so um, it's kind of thinner down there. You could just come in. Oh that's cute now, jane says that wish has a ton of different cute hair ornaments for practically nothing. I forget about wish yeah i've never ordered from wish. Oh, i have what else we got. Anything else. Didn'T really look like what i ordered, but i think for it was a shirt i i can't ordering clothes online for me is not good. Oh no, you had to food shop. Lynn had to food shop with crutches. I had been on crutch, i'd be on crutches, for i don't know how long misty can tell you. Here'S my pre-done avalon, that was my fingernail y'all saw that sticking through there, which i only i never have worn my avalon up, but somebody else had it on. They wore it up in the group and posted their picture, and i had the fomo someone else did a claire by noriko and just pulled like part of it back and left just a little bit down, but that was pretty well. I love my elbow like this because i mean you saw. I just popped that on so i could do that once and wear it for two weeks before i had to shampoo it and only have to do it one time, how do you grocery shop and crutches? I mean you can't even carry a glass of water buggy. Maybe i don't know when i was on crutches. I did the food delivery service. Colleen says she loves the cheetah. I am all about the animal print. Oh, i love animal print, all right y'all. We know you have some probably way better ideas than we do, because we don't do updos all the time, people that wear wigs on a consistent basis, they experiment and do things. Oh um, estetica estatica, they came out with some. They came out with a petite collection and what they did is they renamed them so that that, like orchid, comes in petite, but they gave it a new name, so it includes orchid jet avalon, there's only three. I think right. I thought there were four. I don't know i'm going to post them, i have the easton petite easton posted and that's all thanks to kimberly myers, yes, kimberly, myers posted a picture of her and - and that is the easton is she i just like was like. This is awesome because it is a true petite size. It doesn't have an overabundance of hair. Everybody knows i love jet because it has a cute asymmetric. Look it's a good summer cut, so i immediately added that to the website. So if you wear a petite and you like jet jet, isn't, does not alter well at all, so i will say that all day long, i've only done it one time, and i will never do it again. So don't call up here saying i won't jet. Can you alter it? No, no! Well! No you don't have to now. You don't have to. The only difference is the um petite eastern is monofilament top and lace front, whereas jet just has the lace. Oh, i did not know that it's full mono top. So the price point's a little bit more, but it's just it was so cute on her and we'll show those when we get them in. Yes, the the other two i haven't ordered yet sorry, my fault kim says she loves her easton. It looks amazing on her and they also included a few more of their styles in their chocolate. Oh yeah ocean coffee and the no, the smokehouse collection ocean - and i can't remember the other one when we, yes, it's orchid i'd work. It on jane, says: jet comes in petite after she sewed hers, you you can tuck it, but when you, when, you really want to make it petite, and you really want to take that bulk out and you have to cut it apart, it doesn't match up the Same and it creates a little bit of a bulk area right here. So if you just need a slight alteration on jet, you can sew it up, but when it comes to really doing an alteration on it, it just doesn't do well, because it has an extra little piece at the top. I don't know why i'm keep dwelling on jeff, that's right! It'S that it's the way that cap is so now. I remember you showing me that it has a section to give that crown more fullness. That'S the tracks running in a different direction, and so it just doesn't well, where did you get your cute top? Someone was oh girl ross. This was like 8.99. I bought it in this color and in yellow, and why? Because you have yellow shoes yeah, i don't know if the yellow shoes will match my yellow tops, yellow shoes. What did i have to get and they came in yesterday yellow shoes because marsha has yellow shoes. Missy has yellow shoes. I had to have it. I love my yellow shoes. Y'All, i'm not really a yellow person, but yellow's pink is your new one. I am always so jealous. When i see you wear that bright pink, i want something bright, pink, so bad i'll just buy it. I don't find anything. Oh am. I whiny enough all right, so we've got other stuff coming up. We got what memorial day weekend is coming. I hope you all have y'all all were able to see the hats. Oh you want to go. Get that red hat to show people. Oh yes, we! I came in the store the other day and noticed something that we had not noticed. The uh red hat, that's red on red with the bling, has a spot for a ponytail, and we when i ordered them. I missed that detail. So we want to show you what it looks like. So if you want a place for a ponytail great, but if you don't want to place her ponytail do not order this hat and it's the red on red and i think, on the website. The picture looks like it has like the white bling, but it is red on red, but it does have the ponytail section or the messy bun high bun, which we showed you with the swirlies, which have been a big hit right and with the uh star, denim Ponytail hat that works great too, but uh. We did not know that i was like missy came out, i'm like missy. It has a hole for a ponytail and she's like i feel like we're so misleading. I know i know we just try to do the right thing and i messed up. I love the red on red, though that's such a good bling, it is just going to be for valentine's day july, 4th memorial day christmas, every holiday, that you can imagine.
