What'S up guys, it's Mimi, I'm here today to show you a tutorial about how I dyed my wig using acrylic pink, but before you get into this tutorial, I have to tell you it's really just to change a little tint of it. You can't really change completely. The color of it anyways you'll, see more what I mean cuz. It always happens. Sometimes when you buy a wig and you get it home and it's like really not the color you wanted well. This happened to me a few times and I get really annoyed because we all know wigs are pretty expensive. So when I was browsing for my new one karma wig from Ace Attorney, I was looking at colors really specifically because she has like a darkish blue gray. Color - and it's really not easy to find, so I was looking at art awakes and they had a sale with this one called periwinkle. I don't remember, there was a sale on this color specifically, and I was like it looks pretty much good. It looks pretty good, but when it came in it was more like a purplish color and I was like nah nah that ain't it that ain't it so yeah, I'm really picky about my colors, usually so I was like and it cost me like what maybe thirty Bucks for that weight because I got on sale anyway. Thirty bucks is still a lot. Okay. Honestly, it's really hard to tell on the camera. I was doing the montage of my tutorial and I was like it looks like the same color, but it's really not. It'S really not okay, just trust me on this. So this is the new wig. I'Ve dyed it with like dark, blue and grayish colors to make it this color, and I'm really satisfied with it now but, like the other, one was like purple and you'll see it in a video. It doesn't really show, but I swear it's not the same. It really wasn't the same. This video is really just to dye a darker tint of the week. You can't really do a big difference with it like it's really like. If you're not satisfied with it, you wanted a bit darker. You wanted another color like you, could just play around with it a little bit, but it's not like magical first you'll need these materials, some paper to cover up your workspace, a bowl with clean water, a medium or large sized paintbrush, some tissue paper. Oh hi Nara a plastic cup to make your paint mixture acrylic picked. Yes, I'm using four different colors to make my mix, but if you find your perfect color in one bottle, that's fine too and actually recommend it. Then we're going to need some masking tape. Some pins, a plastic bag to cover and protect your foam head, pecan scissors foam head and, lastly, your weight, as you can see here, my wig is way too long for von Karma. So before dyeing it I'm going to cut the egg now that it's roughly cut I'm going to straighten it, then I'm going to adjust the length of the wig and correct imperfections alright, now that this is all done, let's get to it. We'Re going to start off by protecting our workstation, I'm just taping down the paper to where my weight will be, then we're going to put the plastic bag over the head and tape it down. Also, now I'm going to put my wig on top of the foam head brush it with your fingers and pin it down to the foam head. If you have a wig stand, that would be so much more convenient, but I didn't so. It works. Anyways next step is to make your paint mixture. I really recommend just using one bottle of paint. That is the color. You want keep in mind that you need a really darker color than the color. You want to dye your wig, because this technique will only change a tenth of the way. You also can't dye a darker way to a lighter color, then you're, just going to add a little bit of water to your paint. Try to make it that it's one for some water and 3/4 paint. You just want to water down your paint a little but keep the paint's texture. If you use warm water, not boiling hot to sleep or the paint will dissolve faster now, you're going to section off the top part of the river using an elastic now put on your rubber gloves this. This is going to get messy, make sure to give the hairs a little brush from time to make sure the pink goes everywhere. Don'T forget the roots, put some music or moving in the background, because it's going to take a while. I was watching a playthrough of persona 5. I don't have a Playstation, so yeah. Now that the whole head is covered in paint you're going to want to brush it out a bit and check everywhere to make sure you didn't forget any spots, let the wig dry overnight or a full day, depending on the length of the wig, then you're going To remove the pins and take your weight to the sink, put your wig under lukewarm water and soak the whole thing. You can add some conditioner to help untangle it go with your fingers gently and try to remove the hardness of the dried paint. Don'T forget to wash the inside of the wig as well, then, to help dissolve the paint I decided to just let it sit in water overnight. Now that it has sit long enough, it's time to let it dry. I brought my wig outside since it was warm and sunny. I didn't leave the wig directly in the sunlight. I let it dry in the shade. You also want to use your fingers gently pressing on the hairs to remove residues of paint, and let me tell you there will be a lot so be patient. You can also shake the way to remove even more residues, let in the end the result looks great and we change the color of your wigs. It'S tough you've probably already had at home. So I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. I really worked hard on it and I did it actually for two weeks. I did it for my Asuna wig as well for a sword on online. That was the first time trying this technique and it was really long cuz. My wig is really long, so I hope you enjoyed this alright. LaStad: I just tried this out and it totally works, i messed up the wig a bit but its really great. Always use a much darker color if your going for something in the vid. Dont brush it out until its done soaking in conditioner for a day. Its great! Thanks sm :)

Pam Duncan: Mixing in alcohol with acrylic paint or even better acrylic ink will actually give you the color you mix on the hair and really change the color if you use a light wig, platinum, silver or white to the color you mix. Without the alcohol added most acrylic paints are water based and are meant to what off in water so when you rinse the wig fiber what you really are getting is a staining effect instead of a real dying effect

`*.A r s o n i s t.* `: normally i take two buckets out into my garage and fill one with water and paint (i have to use the whole thing of paint sometimes... i do this for most my wigs because they somehow all end up offly colored) and dunk it in the paint mixed water, leave it there for 5-10 minutes, take it out, rinse the extra paint out a little, then i set it in a plastic bag to dry for a bit till it isnt dripping a ton and then blow dry and brush it. i like to see how other people dye their wigs haha

ThatOneGuy69: Now hear me out. Same ratios, but with a bucket of warm water, dunk the wig in (or to a specific depth if you want to dip dye or ombre) ensure coverage and then let sit for an hour or so, then rinse and let the wig hang upside down and air-dry over night.
