Hey everyone, I'm Olivia, this is Drury, I'm going to be introducing the splat hit to you. So, let's get right into what's in the kids, you have the oxide, which is the liquid Lightner in the powder you're, going to combine these two to lighten the hair. Before you put the color on, this is going to ensure that you have super vibrant awesome, hair, color and once that's all washed out and your hair is dry you're, going to go ahead and put the color on top of it. So what we need to do is we need to prep our work station, we're going to put out an old towel to avoid any spills, we're going to put a pair of gloves on just to protect our hands and if you don't have a tape at home. Go ahead and put on an old t-shirt, something that you don't mind a spill or two on the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to open up my powder lighter and I'm going to put it inside the oxide bottle and then you're going to Shake shake, shake, shake shake, make sure you have it mixed all. Well, I'm going to go ahead and - and I cut the top off here - I'm going to start at the front and I'm just going to use my fingers to section out no larger than an inch. If your hair is super thick, do it in smaller sections and you're just going to start at the top keeping it off your skin and work it in a zigzag motion all the way down the hair like this. Now that I have your hair completely saturated we're going to leave this in one thing: to keep in mind is when you're using whitener you never never, never leave it more than 30 minutes. So that's your maximum amount of time that you're going to leave with it. So now we are, at the fun part check out this amazing lightning power. Her hair was prepped and ready, so we're going to go ahead and put the color all over so make sure that your work station is all covered old, towel and you're wearing an old t-shirt. If you don't have a tape at home - and you wear a pair of gloves now for this one - the color is more vibrant, so you're really going to need to protect the skin. What we're going to do is we're going to put vaseline all around her hairline on our ears in the back of the neck, and especially if you have long hair and it's going to touch the back of your neck, you need to wipe it all the way Across your neck, now that she's all prepped and ready to go, I'm just going to give this a really good shake just to make sure that it's all evenly mixed and I'm going to take this cap off and I'm going to put this one on this. One is the applicator tip and I'm going to cut this up at the top and I'm just going to apply it in really small sections. So that way, it's on very clean, so I've sectioned off her hair, and I made sure that I did everything very very carefully so that way we kept it off her neck everything's piled on top of the head and she's supersaturated. So we are going to process this one for a while just to make sure the color really grabs. You have amazing, vibrant hair color, so we're going to let this fit in for 45 to an hour. So here you have the Barry black hair color check it out, it's so vibrant and gorgeous. Isn'T it so we just rinsed it out shampooed and conditioned and, as you can see, this is something that you can do at home. Very, very simple, with your splat kit. So now she's looking gorgeous and you can be at home.

koolkat1204: I'm stressed out with all this Corona talk, I'm dying my hair once and for all

indiegirlpiss: that epic gamer moment when this really is a two person job and they don't give clear instruction on paper so you have to look at the video AFTER you already mess everything up and have to do it again ammiright

N. Odinsdottir: Saw some comments about the bleach; I'm working towards getting into cosmetology, but I've been messing with hair color like this since 2004, lol. Here's a few tips: 1. I, personally, wouldn't do this on newly shampooed hair. I'd wait a day because the natural oils act as a buffer. 2. I'm going to tell every person this who bleaches their hair. Get six to eight packs of Sweet n'Low and mix that into the lightening powder and pour in the developer like normal and mix it. Why? Because the Sweet n'Low seems to neutralize it and adding Sweet n'Low prevents your scalp from being burned. 3. If you mess up (and while I love the color, the bleach isn't always enough or consistent) WAIT A WEEK before attempting to bleach again. DO NOT do multiple applications all in a week or day. Doing this is going to make it worse for your hair, it'll become weaker and weaker and will NOT be able to hold color. 4. What you use to shampoo and conditioner makes a huge difference. Use something sulfate-free and consider washing your hair every other day. This will allow your hair to bounce back. 5. If your hair has a brassy undertone? Get purple shampoo to neutralize that color. That way, it won't look as bad in between applications. It won't turn your hair purple, so don't worry; it will turn yellow into a more ash blonde and dull out any yellows or oranges. 6. Sally's sells affordable developer and bleach powder, so if it's not enough (and, honestly, it's not a lot of times), you can purchase that there for less. 7. If you want to lighten your hair again and it's pretty damaged? Just add shampoo and conditioner into the bleach, mix it, and lather it in your hair as you will. It will still work, trust me, but it will prevent your hair from getting even more damaged in case you have a screw-up. 8. Moisturize the hell out of your hair before bleaching, trust me. Me? I put either coconut or argan oil on my head prior to bleaching and I really cake it on to the point where it looks like it's wet. 9. Boar bristles or wet brushes are your best friends after and before bleaching. Don't brush your hair when its wet; you can use oil or leave-in conditioner to help untangle stuff. 10. Heat is not a good thing, so if you're using it during the bleaching process or drying it after bleaching? It'll make it worse. Try to use heat sparingly. 11. You don't need "pastelizer" kits, just put white conditioner (I get Suave) and dilute the color, put that in your hair, and bam. Splat has been a hit and miss for me, but I like it when I want to add an ombre or streaks into already colored hair. This video is great but be sure to research methods and ESPECIALLY the color wheel of hair when you're doing this. You can repair some damage to your hair to a better condition but you cannot fix it. Other great treatments: 1. Aphoge protein treatments 2. Joico K-Pak Reconstructor 3. Argan oil (if you're white, coconut oil will actually eat away at your hair if you use it too much) 4. Doing Hask protein packs and leaving them on for a bit; you can find cheap ones at Walgreens or Target. 5. Brad Mondo also has a great vegan hair mask treatment! Don't get discouraged and don't get desparate!!

Val: Idk why y'all hating on the model she's super pretty

AJ W: Thank you for your informative video. I'm doing my daughter's hair this weekend and appreciate the instruction.

Bella Rafter: I used the Splat pink color and did it without bleach and I have dark thick hair. The color took to my hair without the bleach. I put it in last February and there's still bits of pink in my hair to this day.

Astra: I have used spat hair dye for a couple years and I love it I use the bleach because my hair is dirty blond and normally I still have a little bit of color left it looks amazing

Lawzz: i love when the model smiles, she has such a beautiful smile and she looks so happy

Shi: the models look so dead... but can't wait to dye my hair! thanks!

Artist Targeted: Thanks For The Demonstration.

Kate L: Splat FAQ (based on personal experience) -Do splat dyes work on Dark hair? Yes, most of them do. They are very strong pigmented dyes. -Can I dye my hair by myself with this dye? If you have long hair and are dying all of your hair, not just the ends, I wouldn't recommend it; unless, you want everything in your house to be the same color as the dye you chose. -I'm bored, and my friend is also bored due to corona. Can we dye eachother's hair with this? I wouldn't recommend it, unless one of you is a beautician or you're only dying the ends of your hair. -This video makes using/applying the dye look very easy though. Aren't you just overreacting? Honestly, this video, in my opinion, kinda glosses over a lot of the steps. First of all, you want to be VERY liberal with the Vaseline. you want a thick coat on the entire back of your neck. This stuff stains your skin a lot harsher and faster than any other box dye I've used. It's dying strength is pretty darn close to that of shoe polish, if it comes in contact with your skin. You'll be repeatedly going back and trying to clean up dye that gets on your skin, while trying to coat your hair with the dye. You should have a salon sink or deep sink in your house to wash this stuff out of your hair, for the first 2-3 washes. You'll also have to AGGRESSIVELY wash your hair with shampoo/conditioner, because this dye will bleed on everything you care about if you don't. :) -Should I dye my roots? No, THIS WILL STAIN YOUR SCALP for days/weeks, and turn your dandruff the color of the dye. if your dandruff gets on anything and comes in contact with some form of moisture it will bleed the dye onto that piece of furniture, fabric, surface, etc. I'd honestly only recommend dying the tips of your hair with this stuff. -Will this work on very thick curly hair? Probably, but I wouldn't recommend it. Because a lot of people with very thick curly hair have an exposed scalp. IT WILL STAIN YOUR SCALP! -Will this work on fine hair? Yes, but I also wouldn't recommend this product if you can see parts of your scalp through your hair. Again, IT WILL STAIN YOUR SCALP! -How can I get this stuff off my skin if I accidentally let it set in? You have 3 options: Use lava soap (yeah that stuff made for people who work on cars), toothpaste + an exfoliating brush/toothbrush and scrub the shit out of your skin, or nailpolish remover. -How do I get this stuff off my scalp? Pray to whatever deity you believe in for a miracle, or wait it out. Unless you want to try something that will potentially strip the color out of your hair, I'm sure sally's beauty supply has some options. -How do I get this stuff off a surface? Get a toothbrush or exfoliating brush, apply toothpaste, start scrubbing and rinsing with water, and most of all have fun! :) You can probably use nail polish remover, but that can potentially damage certain surfaces. -Is it worth the price? Think this is about $9~$14 at walmart, and one of those age 7y-14y science kits is roughly the same price. So considering both make about the same amount of mess: yes it's worth the price. If you like cleaning or want to entertain your child this is worth it. If you hate cleaning, and you'll be doing most of it in your household because you're not a teenager, then don't get this product. Go to sally's beauty supply, or a hair salon, there are far better options out there for fantasy hair colors.

lilly keren: I used red and it came out so beautiful I'm so happy

Jhai Dollente: the hair colorist kinda look like Katy Perry, don't you think?!

Shevisa Shevisa: Beautiful color. I love it.

Kamila Kuczynski: I’m kinda skeptical about dying my hair with splat because I’ve heard so many negative things but I’ve heard so many good reviews. Idk I’m just gonna go for it. Wish me luck

lisa downing: My hair came out this exact same color but I used the pink pride one either way I just love it

That_chick_you_saw_at_CVS: I really don't like the way that woman just stares at the camera

Elizabeth Faith: I left the color on my head for half an hour bc it took awhile getting every strand of hair but it wouldn’t stop bleeding the pink color and now it looks kinda faded but It’s still wet from the water but hopefully it’s still vibrant as it was when I applied it.

Katie Farren: me sitting here with my neck, forehead, face, and hands stained purple not knowing i was supposed to use vAsiLenE

Peebs: Can you do a tutorial.for light blue dye on really dark hair please?

shutupanakin: I have very conflicted feelings about splat. I’m trying it today and I must say I’m nervous. I’ve heard plenty of good and bad things about this product- I’m dying it lusty lavender. My friend lily has been using it for years, and dyes her hair a new color every three to four months and she recommended this to me. She and my friend Adrian say that the bleach is fine, but I’ve heard other things. I must say I’m confused, hope it goes well

Fiona Smith: Decided to dye my hair blue with the kit I’m super excited

art_lover: Hey, my sister is planning on dying her hair with this, can someone tell me what’s inside the splat oxide mixing bottle?

Rachel Collins: I love it!!!

pplpplgal: I've used Manic Panic previously. Today I tried splat. I do love how the kit comes with bleach. BUT I hate the bleach bottle system. I feel like the bleach was powdery even when mixed and I was so scared of breathing it in. I'm still saturating the pink in my hair currently. So we will see about that.

Rachel Collins: I love it!!!

ElmTreigh: My only question is, in this tutorial, I noticed the bleach or lightened that was used in the model was a few centimeters or inches away from the root of the hair or the scalp of the head, was that done deliberately or is that how it should be done for people with brown to dark brown hair. It be trying this for the first time on myself & I just want to make sure about the bleach/lightener step.

the yarn spider: You should also after putting all that dye in your hair do a deep conditioning treatment as well because of all the processing of chemicals

Kristi Mcelroy: I miss my hair being this color

I eat Grandma's ashes: time to dye my hair for the 2nd time, thanks quarantine!

Dubb RI: Do you have to wait couple days or weeks before adding the lighting

Part-Time Hippie: Awesome video! I will be posting my splat hair video in the next couple days, wish me luck ❤️

Alison Mitchell: Is this safe for thin hair?

Georgia Long: To the people saying Splat doesn’t stay in, Splat contains a lower amount of peroxide than professional dies

Leilani X: Try it on brunette hair of course it always works on blonde hair.

Wolfie_ Gacha UwU: Yay thanks now my hair is red

Neon Ghoti: Boyfriend dumped me yesterday. I’m dying my armpit hair blue! I stained my body with bleach and got the dye all over my chest. Oof.

Kim Edora: Do you wash your hair after the 30 minutes?

Maitri Patel: Can I just do my tips and not use the lightener??

The World In Kayla’s Eyes: Is it safe to use any conditioner when rinsing the color out?

Carolina Cepeda: doing this right now in quarantine

Bella Lara: If I wanted to re-dye my hair would I have to bleach it again or just put in the dye ?

Hehe it’s me: Omg you saved my life with this video

Ash Skates: Is this hair dye like harmful also does it damage really bad is this one of the best box dye brands to use?

kimithekiwi: That prelighted hair went

Aries Rover: I try my best on the bleach I left it their for thirty minutes but when I rinse it I showed a little bit

Irene the Bean: Does the lightening kit contain olaplex to protect the hair?

Ellie Lee: does the dye itself have lightener in it? if i use just the dye on brown hair will it lift that natural color a bit?

Jamya Anderson: so when the hair is dry can you blow dry it?

iKingRPG: 1:33 lol and yet the instructions in the box says: "Dark brown / black: 50-60 minutes"

Jojostats: Do I rinse my hair out till no color comes off my hair???

Desirae Poupard: My friend who is going to dye my fohawk is worried that bleaching and dying the hair the same day will damage the hair. Is this true?

MaThai bunny: This stuff doesn’t like coming out, it’s super bright

Wendy Pérez: What kind of shampoo/conditioner do you use to shower when you have this kind of hair dye tho?

Megs: i would just like to take this time to tell you MY experience with Splat Hair Dye. I used the red hair dye on my hair in August of 2016. I used the bleach and followed the directions EXACTLY how they were and the bleach fried my hair completely, it ruined my hair. My hair was down to my chest and i had to cut my hair all the way up to the bottom of my ears BECAUSE of how my damage this hair dye caused my hair. My hair is STILL damaged after 7 months. Probably the worst bleach i have ever came across, how ever the color of the dye's are fantastic. I wouldnt recommend using the bleach in this product, but i would recommend the color itself. I really regret using this bleach, it has made it a struggle to keep my hair maintainable. Its so dry and brittle i have to use lotion after the shower just to make it feel somewhat like hair again. Very upset.....

LunaLove87: Does anyone know if this hair dye deposits pigment on your pillowcase and clothes even days after application??

Astrid.isntFunny: I dyed it and omg my scalp burns so bad!

daycore: i put the bleach on 25 minutes then checked on it then left it for 25 more minutes is that a bad thing

Nora Ouellette: Btw when I dye my dark hair for the first time I'll leave it for 1 hour and my hair was fine

V Hope: are you supposed to wash the bleach out or just rinse

Kristy Lindsey: Check out Aubrey Boo Chapman on her channel talking about how much she loved her Splat hair dye!!!

Kiara Mulero: Can I add some conditioner to the color dye or no?

Morgana Hilra: how to you handle an undercut. As short as the stylist?

Karla G: i will try to use the bleach, maybe i will do some test first just to see how my hair take the bleach

B: i dyed my blonde hair with pink splat and it didn't come out for 3 years

Sakura peppermint: So I have to wash my hair like 2 times ?

Emilie Hammonds: If u don’t do your whole head can u put tin foil on the pieces u do color

Melissa Joy: Her hair looks good that blonde color

Angela Brooks: I really wished that I'd have a second pair of hands for this. Not good at sectioning out my hair. That's why I second set of hands would come in perfect.

Miranda: Why does she say not to leave it on more then 30 mins but on the package it says 60 :/

Kallea B: But how do you remove the splat hair color from you hair without bleach?

Gigi: did she use the one hair dye for her entire hair or would you need to buy more ?

issy !: how do we get it out of our hair? i've used bleach so many times and it doesn't fade. :(

Ashley Owen: DONT USE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HAIR HEALTH. Which you should but many uses of this stuff and you will have to shave your hair off, speaking from personal almost experience. Try arctic fox or punkd for wayyy better results by far

Laila Aesthetically: How many month till I bleach my hair or does the bleach expire within months

AshenGuard _: 3:46 ooh look she curled her hair
