Hi guys welcome back to my channel, so this is a another video of how I do the free hair painting balayage open air, whatever you want to call it tutorial, and this is on dark brown hair and we're just doing a little bit of sunkissed dimension. So one of my last videos was like on someone who's blonde and wanted to be bright blonde. This is the same technique only on dark, hair and wanting just a smidge of dimension. So what I'm doing is almost the same sectioning. I do horizontal lines all the way up to about above the ear give or take depending on the client and how much hair they have, and I'm just sectioning smaller sections to get it a little bit more flow to it. You can do bigger sections if you want bigger sections, add less color, smaller sections, add more color, so just think of it that way. So I'm I I kind of vary it. So it's more natural, not so uniform, because you want this to be a very natural. Like it, it happened from the Sun you're just out on the beach, and this is all natural like didn't color my hair at all. So that's what we're going for today, and so I just take these little like two to three inch sections and I'm just using my brush from Michaels. I don't know the name, someone left it in the one of the comments when tonight I still forget it, but I would need to go buy more so hopefully I can remember the name of it and then I can say it in my videos um, but I'm Just this is 30 volume, with pH Bhandar and surface oil, as always, and I'm just doing that V, section balayage on the top, leaving the underneath without any color and I'm not coloring the bottom pieces completely. So it's not saturated all the way through. It'S all the lightener is just on top of that section. There'S no saturation at the bottom, all the way through the section it's just on top, because we still wanted it to look super super natural. So that's it's so simple guys. I did this all the way up her hair and around on all sections, and it's just so so so simple, so quick and easy. I got this one done, maybe in like 30 minutes, like it's awesome, guys and she processed for about 30 minutes. I put her under the heat at the end, just to kick it up just a little bit more and then I did film. The toning part, so I'll explain the toning next after this. So this is her toner and I use six Envy from shades eq. It'S written right there, so you can see - and I just put that on her hair and it took about five seven minutes just like normal shades, eq and yeah. It'S super easy super simple and it's a gorgeous color and that's pretty much it and then i after i tone this is like the normal bowl process for me, rinse out the lightener really well. Sometimes I will use a purple shampoo, but not very often before rinse. It out toner rinse that out pH Bhandar step to let that sit for seven to ten minutes and I usually play with the hair. Well, it's it's because it's so pretty um rinse that out shampoo rinse that out conditioned rinse that out and that's about it. That'S kind of how the bowl works in my salon, depending on the person you might have to do two toners, it depends on the client. It depends on the client and I'm mostly all of the time used shades toners. I just find they're so fast, so easy. I love them they're gorgeous colors, and so I yeah I use I use matrix. What'S it called was a cold light master bleach and I find that works really well with the pH Bhandar and then I used matrix also for any like color colors nut toners, and this is the end result guys it's such as beautiful, sunkissed, easy, simple soft balayage. It'S so beautiful, and that is my video for today, guys thanks so much for watching make sure you like subscribe and share and follow me on instagram at hair by Lexi, Don and I'll see you in my next video bye, guys you

I love being a mom, but it doesn't necessarily mean I can afford classes that I'd like to attend or buy online. These are so great for me to learn these modern techniques and use on my clients. Thank you so much! You are a blessing

Chi Love Radio Uncut: Hello! Awesome video! As a fellow cosmetologist I just want to add a little info because I recently completed a Redken Color Class and learned that the Shades EQ Gloss is supposed to be applied on dry hair and also it needs to process for a full 20 minutes. Since using this method the gloss lasts a lot longer on my clients. Now the whole salon does it this way. We were all sitting in the class going ok we gotta change some things. ♥️

jae hardy: looks beautiful - great work :)

Justin Wanke: A great technique that i use all the time, being a stylist of 17yrs i got my first formal warning using this technique in the current salon I'm working in as I did not apply a demi to the roots and blended out a root shade into a balayage.

Steven Michael: Very nice job! I too love SEQ for toning. Can't beat the quality and the time saving it offers. I'll be keeping my eye out for you. *wink*

Krystal Frisk: I have used light master for balayage, but I cover it with film. I know it's not designed for open air so I find this application very interesting, as I never would have considered doing it! Nice work

Fionne Pham: great video! I tried to do this several times but always ended up with weird lines around my roots area bc I would go too high randomly. where do you tend to stop the bleach? I also get really brassy orange hair after bleaching. would eq 6NB be able to remove brassiness too? :)

AprilwithaY: love your tutorials and love your work!

Veronica Torres: Thanks for always sharing. love your videos, I don't think I haven't seen one that I did not like. There such a great help, every tip counts. your awesome!

bossbabies3: This is the best most Effortless technique I have Ever seen she is a True Artist

Thea Mikolajczyk: Hey Lexi, is it just the camera angle or did you change the sectioning on the heavy side of her front section to the finer side? It looks more horizontal on the heavy side and more vertical on the other but maybe it's because your sections were going back! Hope that made sense. I would love a video on what your favorite balayage and foil placements are! Love your work

assertyourself: nice work lexi! I like the music you played in the background, its meditative and relaxing so the viewer can absorb the content of the video. better than those obnoxious techno music that everyone else has on theirs.

Barbara Miranda: Gostei muito. Obrigada.

Elizabeth Coleman: Hey! Hi! I want to get a balayage soon but since my hair is dark and I want to go a little lighter then what you just did. Should I get foils? Or does it work just fine without foils?

Charlotte Thompson: Its lovely, and I love matrix, great work xx

Tiffany Dawn: I am thinking about having a friend help me with this technique, but unsure on the color. I have boxed dye black hair (natural black color, but honestly has faded into a dark brown). I love this color and want to keep it, but would love to add some brown dimension into the bottom, just to give it a bit of color, so it's not super flat. I have bleached this color out of my hair many times, while going blonde. It lifts perfectly fine on my hair. Guess my question is - once I bleach this from my hair, I know it'll turn that brassy red/orange color. I was thinking of getting a golden medium brown to just dye over-top, but would that even work, to give me that pretty Black/Golden brown balayage I'm wanting? Or should I try to tone it somehow? Don't want anything drastic, just a bit of color is all.

Brianna Portillo: Hi!!! I love your videos! I'm always watching :) quick question. Do you use a ring light for your pictures and also do you take the pictures for your IG from your cell phone? Thanks so much!

Jane Smith: God bless you for putting on soothing music during the silent parts instead of that obnoxious annoying music in most hair videos! When that starts I always have to bail because it shatters my nerves. This was enjoyable to watch.

Alex Pace: Hey! So it takes usually 40 mins. to develop onto my hair, but it takes like an hour to apply.. So when applying from the bottom to the top, obviously the bottom has been on longer. Do you have an opinion on how to fix this?
